      different, in a good way

I enjoyed my 3 nights. I had a great view of a pond and a row of A-frames but the sites on my passenger (viewing) side were not occupied or I would have been billboarded. The  sites are very close together but the season is apparently over. Very little traffic even on thanksgiving. The roads are narrow and the trees get close. Th signage could be better but the host left me a text when I arrived and found me while I was waiting outside the office. Very quiet, no road noise or trains or planes. Just a little longer drive off the main highway

      Quick night stay

Ended up at this location after a crappy night in Alabama. It was very clean nice location. Very nice Mississippi State Park Campground. All the staff were very friendly and Gary was a great guy that we chatted with for a bit after checking in. Restrooms were clean and air conditioned. Family type campgrounds with friendly happy campers. We will be back a lot more in the future.

      Narrow sites with killer views

The sites are rather narrow with varying sizes and locations for outdoor living space. Pay close attention to the states website regarding vehicle size maximums. As I walk through the park, it appears that all spots are full hookup and paved. We are on site 43 and anything longer than 30 ft will be pushing it. As it is, our 25ft trailer fits nicely, but the truck is parallel parked across the end of my site in order to be off the road. The picnic table is behind the camper instead of on camp side, which isn’t my favorite setup but we are making due. Some sites have metal fire rings, while others (like ours) have rock circle pits. Some campsites on the hill side have no picnic table OR fire pits. They also have almost no room to walk around the RV without tumbling down the hill. Sites 62 and 64 aren’t terrible, but everything else from 59 and up is pretty bad. 25-34 and 51-54 are short and back up to a a hill. Would be great for Class B or smaller travel trailers. Sites 10-24 are in a separate area from the rest. 35-50 are down on a low flat area near the water and are the best if you like a view of the lake.

Bath house in our loop is clean, not completely out of date, and heated for cold weather camping. There is a small area with 2 set of pay washers/dryers and a few vending machines.

All in all, well worth the State’s $32/night charge.

      Nice Lake View...but

      PROS

We were able to reserve 368 days prior to arrival

Very friendly and helpful check-in clerk

Fantastic view of the lake from site 45

Mostly quiet except for campground party animals until 3am!

      Concrete parking pad

      BBQ grill

Fire ring constructed of concrete pavers

      Coin-operated washers/dryers in shower/toilet facility

Small playground, pool and mini-golf course

Good jumping off point for Shiloh Battlefield

      CONS

Campsite 45 was full of litter…cigarettes butts, bones, bottle caps, pieces of chalk, straws, melted soda bottles…just nasty

Fire ring made of concrete pavers full of ash and trash upon arrival…again nasty Pedestal BBQ grill full of trash and ash upon arrival…more nastiness

Campers ignored basic rules/courtesy/respect such as keeping dogs on leash and walking through occupied campsites at anytime. One camper walking through our site complained to us our chairs on our site were in THEIR way.

      No senior discount

      Narrow site

      Site 45 not level

      Site 45 mostly fun sun

Basically we didn't experience any of the campground rules being enforced so obviously there is no management oversight at this State Park

Never saw a park ranger drive through the campground (Saturday-Monday)

Never saw a camp host or a campsite for a camp host

      Campground quiet hours not enforced

Posted "No Swimming” from campsites along lake, but that didn’t stop a sole and no one enforced it

Concrete picnic table at end of parking pad, so at the bumper of the camper

Sites very close to each other with no vegetation between sites, so no privacy what so ever

Street lights throughout campground, so not dark sky friendly

Small playground, pool and mini-golf course not walkable from campground

Trash dumpsters outside of campground…not walkable

Twisty, steep and narrow roadway into campsite...not for novice rig drivers

Due to short campsites, tow vehicles had to be creative with parking, sometimes blocking most of the campground road, again no enforcement efforts

      No WiFi

      1 bar Verizon

      Cross City RV Park

One of the Better Short Stay Campgrounds

This review is based on a short stay campground (CG). We followed our GPS right to this CG off US-45 just south of Corinth. We were instructed by the very nice owner, Jim, to call when we were 30 minutes out so he could meet us. Jim was right there when we pulled in and we had the choice of two pull throughs or a back-in. We chose back-in site E with FHUs for our two night’s stay. The back-in was easy and the site was fairly level as we had no problems auto-leveling. Water pressure was good at around 45 psi. We had no problems with utilities that were towards the back of the pad as we could back in a good distance. There were no playground, picnic tables nor fire pits. The CG has full timers and seasonal campers, who were very nice. They have a nice bathroom with a shower plus a small laundry with one washer and dryer. The washing is free and drying costs$1. We got two bars on Verizon and a clear shot north for Starlink. This CG is listed under Passport America but looking at reviews on multiple sites, Jim charges everyone the same price around$30. There’s no dog area, but plenty of room to walk your pups. US-45 is near so you get highway noise. After several attempts, we never got connected to the CG’s wifi. Corinth has all your major amenities such as Walmart, Lowes, etc. Borroum's Drug Store and Soda Fountain is a throwback in time and a great place to get lunch. Get there early though, as they fill up fast.We enjoyed our stay in this no frills, laid back, and friendly CG. We would definitely stay here again.

      J.P. Coleman State Park Campground

Not my style, but others love it.

Another Mississippi State Park that has so much potential, but has been neglected. The bath house is nice, but most of the sites are extremely close together. Laundry facility’s and vending machines can be found in the bathroom.

The cove with sites 10-24 seem to be the better spots in my personal opinion. The sites on the water are nice (43,45,47).

They do have cabins for rent along with a lodge and a Marina on site. Most people that camp here are coming for the lake. This is a popular place during the summer.

      Thousand Trails Cherokee Landing

      Cherokee Landing Campground

We got cabins for the family, they were very nice (bring your own sheets, towels, and food, they had basic cookware and dining ware but ours is in the camp bin so we used what we brought and were used to). Site was very wooded and we had a great time. Friends met us there with a boat and we spent the whole time out on the water or grilling, so I’m not sure how much there is to do at the campgrounds or in the woods.

Pickwick Dam Campground — Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)

      So Clean!

This campsite was renovated after flooding occurred. Nice level sites! Our Super C Class did require more blocks for leveling in the front on Site 6.  However, it was a very nice site with plenty of privacy. This site backed up to tall Pine Trees and plenty of grass area for our pups.  New grills.  Updated picnic tables.  Nearby to several local restaurants. If ever in the area, we would return again.  Our A&T Cell Phone and T-Mobile Mifi worked great here.

    Guide to Silerton

Serendipity Resort offers modern glamping accommodations near Silerton, Tennessee in a resort-style setting with numerous water recreation opportunities. The property features yurts, cabins, and various glamping options approximately 35 miles from Silerton in Brownsville. While the water park and swimming pool form the centerpiece attractions, visitors should note that these amenities come with additional daily fees beyond the standard accommodation rates.

    What to do

Water recreation: paddle sports and fishing: At Thousand Trails Cherokee Landing, visitors can enjoy emerald green lake waters ideal for boating activities. According to Mollie, the lake is "absolutely gorgeous. Emerald green lake, plenty of room between campsites." Many glamping enthusiasts bring their own boats for fishing and water sports.

Historical sites: visit nearby attractions: The Pickwick Dam Campground provides convenient access to historical points of interest. Kevin B. notes it's "close to the Shiloh National Military Park which is the reason we are here." This makes it an excellent base camp for those wanting to combine glamping with cultural exploration.

Observation tower climbing: For those seeking elevated views different from Serendipity's fire tower, J.P. Coleman State Park offers scenic vistas overlooking the lake. Laura D. shares that "we had a clear view to the water" even from sites set back from the shoreline, providing alternative panoramic opportunities for glamping guests.

    What campers like

Clean, updated facilities: Many glamping spots near Silerton maintain modern amenities. At the TVA campground, Jim T. appreciated "very friendly people clean shower houses, restrooms. Electric and water hookups. Dump station available." These well-maintained facilities enhance the comfort level for those transitioning from traditional camping to glamping.

Spacious sites with lake views: Some properties offer waterfront glamping experiences with room to spread out. Kim B. stayed at Cherokee Landing and reports, "We got cabins for the family, they were very nice (bring your own sheets, towels, and food, they had basic cookware and dining ware)." This practical information helps glampers prepare appropriately.

Level concrete pads: For those bringing an RV alongside glamping friends, J.P. Coleman offers concrete parking pads with lakefront positioning. According to Sable A., "The site we had was up hill facing the lake which worked out with a small trailer." This terrain consideration helps visitors choose appropriate glamping accommodations.

    What you should know

Advance reservations essential: Popular glamping destinations in the area can book up quickly. At Big Buck Resort, availability may be limited, especially for larger groups requiring multiple accommodations. Plan accordingly to secure preferred sites.

Varied water park fees: Water recreation amenities often carry additional costs beyond site fees. Nathan B. explains at one resort, "The water park is a $20 charge a piece on the first day and goes down to $10 a day for the rest of your stay. Be advised you will be charged whether you are going in the water or not."

Seasonal considerations: Some campgrounds near Silerton have limited operating seasons. Thousand Trails Cherokee Landing operates from "April 2 to October 25," making advance planning essential for off-season glamping trips. Weather conditions can impact comfort levels, especially in yurts or safari-style accommodations.

    Tips for camping with families

Mini-golf and playground access: Cross City RV Park offers family-friendly amenities. John D. mentioned it "would've been 5 stars if they had a fire pits," but the convenient location and hookups make it ideal for families seeking glamping near Silerton with essential comforts.

Water activities for different ages: Halley S. shares, "My two kids tent camped while my parents had their pop up! There were hardly any blood sucking bugs and no wildlife for protect our stuff from." This illustrates how the area accommodates multi-generational camping groups with varying comfort preferences.

Golf cart rentals: Some glamping resorts offer transportation within the property. Nathan B. notes, "they do rent golf carts for $50 a day," which can be convenient for families with small children or mobility concerns when accessing amenities spread throughout larger properties.

    Tips from RVers

Seasonal discounts: RVers combining glamping experiences should look for off-peak rates. Chip K. found that one park "accepts Passport America discount making the price just right. Sites are perfectly level, utilities all work great." This can significantly reduce costs during extended glamping vacations.

Setup considerations: Many RV sites in the Silerton area have specific layout challenges. MickandKarla W. advises, "We had no problems with utilities that were towards the back of the pad as we could back in a good distance," highlighting the importance of checking hookup positions when combining RV and glamping stays.

Laundry facilities: For extended glamping trips, on-site laundry access can be essential. Several parks offer coin-operated machines, with one reviewer noting the facility has "coin-operated washers/dryers in shower/toilet facility," making longer luxury camping stays more convenient.
