Location location. Get a beach front site. You fall asleep to the sound of the waves. It’s magical. Beach is great. Hookups clean and easy. And nothing else. But what more do you need than an ocean at sunset and sunrise.
We stayed one night at this park while on a trip down the Oregon coast. It was very cold and rainy, so we spent the time in our RV, but it was so cool to watch the waves roll in!
The beach is right in front of the park, so on a nicer day we would have enjoyed that a little more, but still a very cool location right in the harbor.
This is still one of our go-to places when in the area, because we like the crazy vibe and unique people and fun energy, but are disappointed that the price is steadily creeping up, and your actual charge is higher than what the website states the price is.
We paid $42/night for a dry camping spot, that includes reservation fees etc.
There's now a little coffee cart on site, which is nice. Showers still available for campers, check-in process is easy and simple (just pick up your paperwork that's waiting for you outside the office), and the beach is nice to walk along. Easy walk to the shops at the harbor.
We do like this place and will likely go back.

There are pros and cons to this location. Pros is literally on the beach. At night, I can hear the waves. Great onshore cool breezes. Lots of walking and amazing sunsets. You know, all those things that draw you to a beach in Southern Oregon.
But, that's where the cons are. Traffic and congestion. Swear that your "camping" right next to interstate 5! Out of the dozen or more RV campgrounds in the area, only this park is on the beach. So all those other folks along with visitors not RVing, park along the campground in "day use" parking area to enjoy this amazing place.
But. I would stay again! Clean, organized management, patrolled. Just busy.
Stunning view of the beach with an easy short walking path. Lots of spaces, but packed together. Easy check in even after the office closes but you can tell strict rules as to what you can camp in here. To be clear, this is an RV ONLY park. We booked a space after the office was closed, and didn’t get a code to the showers (not sure why) but did have a restroom. Overall good stay for last min travelers, and price was about $50 with tax per night for partial hookup.
No conversations, passenger vans, tents, cargo trailers, etc. FYI there is also vehicle parking in-front of camper spaces, so it looks like this is beach access for the public as well.
So we stayed here in our Skoolie and was happy with the stay.
The reason we give it a star at all is because the next time we came here they said no conversion of any type allowed. So as we drove off took us though the rv campground we pass a Van conversion, it became clear they where just being dicks.
They say no conversion of any type but I’ll bet they allow a MCI or PreVost. Total discrimination at this park
Sites are very close with a small picket fence separating them. Very little vegetation on the sites...mainly dirt and sand. Most sites level with a picnic table. There is a public road that surrounds the park with constant non RV traffic. Very noisy due to closeness of the sites and road noise. Some homeless people wander around, and we found two used needles near the garbage bin. Restrooms are clean after they are cleaned mid-morning, but with the continuous flow of non RV users, they are filthy by the evening/early morning. A secondary bathroom is closed due to vandalism. The name Beachfront is misleading as you have to cross the public road/parking to get to the beach (the beach is nice though). Expensive for what you get.
Shower construction is finally finished. Shower code and wifi password is in confirmation email. $0.50 to start showers, for 3 minutes. Then 90 seconds for each quarter after that.
Dry camping area is now blocked off with barriers so you no longer have people driving through and hanging out all around you - much nicer.
Check in time is 1pm, after that you can remove the barricade yourself and drive in. Replace it behind you. We sat and waited until 1:30pm for someone to remove the barricade before we went to the office to ask when the dry camp area would open, and were told to just move the barricade ourselves and drive in.
Still $35 per night for dry camp which is definitely too expensive for what you get but we still love coming here.
First 5 “spots” shown on map are not a camp spot and are not included in the barricaded off area.
Would recommend not taking the last spot (#153) because it’s right along the parking lot where fishers park for the day, there’s lots of activity. Also wouldn't recommend the very first spot closest to the day use area and beach, because the day use people can get noisy.
Zola’s on the Water still has Daiya cheese and amazing pizza.
We love it here but if you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful time, maybe go to one of the other RV parks across the street - Driftwood or Portside. This place has a lot of characters and character and we always have a good time here.
Love this Rv park! You are only 20 ft from the surf! Yes it can be noisy….. but soooo worth it!
The sites are tight but the park is well maintained and it’s oceanfront!
Spots are tight and bathrooms were open to the public. Showers are pay but clean. All that it’s on the beach which made up for everything else
I would not come back here. There is no Privacy between spaces unless you call a 3ft by 3ft picket fence privacy. Bathrooms are only at one end of the campground. We were stuck next to a family of four kids, loud, screaming. They had two dogs tied up to where they couldn't even move, to the picnic table, unattended. They let them poop under our slide-out. We woke up to barking puppy and screaming baby. The restaurant we walked to, Catalyst was understaffed, bartender was rude, we left her a great tip anyway. Waited almost an hour for our food. I would not recommend this site to anyone who wants a little peace and quiet and ocean sounds. So disappointing, we thought it would be way better just because it is on the beach. Owners need to put in some trees or bigger, longer fence for their guests privacy.
I love this RV park. It's kind of dirty and basic and rough, lots of day use people coming and going and staying to party at night, and you're right at the port and the Coast Guard station with boats coming and going all day long. It's a lively place with lots of activity, so don't come here if you're looking for peace and quiet. There was a huge drum circle on the beach on Friday night, lots of people come here to take their boats out to fish, and lots of people come here to hang out on the beach. You can walk along the beach a fairly decent length, and it gets pretty quiet and deserted at the other end.
We stayed at one of the dry camping spots along the edge, and with tax and the booking fee it came to about $35/night. Sites are gravely dirt and lumpy and not quite flat. There are partial hookup as well as full hookup and pull through sites available, but no dump or water station if you're staying in a dry camp spot. The map shows a tent camping area as well but we saw those spots taken up by RVs. The info sheet we got as well as signs on those spots state that no tent or car camping is allowed. Be aware if you stay in one of the dry camping spots that these people don't like to be without their comforts and the spots are really close together, so if you're here when it's busy you will hear generators from your neighbors from every direction.
Showers currently under construction but should be ready for use soon, within a few weeks.
We rode our bikes to the town of Brookings just a few miles away, lots of cute shops to explore and good food to eat, as well as several breweries. There is even a vegan Mexican food truck called Off the Wagon with amazing delicious food, and the pizza shop nearby called Zola's has daiya cheese so you can get vegan pizza there too. The humane society allows the public to come in and walk dogs so we did that too, which was great.

What a wonderful location! On the ocean. Whether it is being in the beach, watching the sunset, seeing boats come in, or building forts out of driftwood, this campground is just great. Everything is nice and neat. Check-In was effortless. Campsite was tidy, clean, and ready when we arrived. Fantastic!
Greatly appreciate a quick response to an email request for reservations. Unfortunately we had a diversion else where. Would have thoroughly looked forward to staying there had we been able. NEXT time. Five stars for responding
The tent spots are in the back by the fishing pier along the road. There’s a coastguard station kitty corner to the tent area and there’s only a shortish fence from your tent area and the main road. We stayed in the corner tent area and the lights and sounds from the Coastguard office was constant and all night. There were guys on bicycles along the road till after dark and then about 6am going to fish. It was very stressful and I didn’t sleep much at all with all the noise and stress
Pretty location close to town, beach goes on for miles in either direction and campsites are located practically on the sand. The downside is the beach is usually busy and not much can be found unless you’re an early riser. Beach is pet friendly and rv is usually the best accommodations here.
This RV Psrk is surrounded by beach, the harbor and the Chetco River. What a prized location. Park your RV on beachfront property, with the harbor behind and the Chetco River at the end of the park. Brookings Harbor is a perfect location for beach goers, fishermen or anyone who enjoys listening to the sounds of the sea from their RV. Walk on access to beach. No laundry room. Limited number of fire rings available or bring your own. Close to town. Restaurants in the harbor, walking distance. Reserve in advance, as sites fill up. This place is a gem.
