## Overview

 Osage Cove is a large campground situated along the banks of Kaw Lake in north central Oklahoma. Most of the campsites here are shaded and some of the area's best hiking and fishing is available on the grounds.
## Recreation

 Osage Cove provides ideal conditions for anglers, offering excellent bank fishing as well as a designated fishing dock and boat ramp area below the dam in the Arkansas River. The lake and river are known for producing some of Oklahoma's largest catfish, as well as crappie, white bass and walleye, making it a popular destination for anglers. Hikers and horseback riders are attracted to the beautiful trails along the eastern shore. The Eagle View Hiking Trail is approximately 12 miles long and runs between Osage Cove and Burbank Landing. The Five Fingers Equestrian Trail extends from Burbank Landing to the Sarge Creek Cove Public Use Area. Hunters' skills are tested with excellent populations of whitetail deer, turkey, quail, rabbit and squirrel. During the fall waterfowl seasons Kaw Lake often attracts large numbers of migrating ducks and geese. During the winter visitors are likely to spot migrating bald eagles, as Kaw Lake has one of the biggest populations in the state.

 The lake covers 17,000 surface acres and has 168 miles of shoreline. Completed in 1976, the dam and lake help provide a recreational oasis for outdoor enthusiasts of all types.

The Best Camping Near Ponca City, Oklahoma

I really like this lake. I like the campgrounds along the shore. It's a beautiful Lake. I love driving across the dam. On the west side of the dam there is a field with lots of prairie dogs. I love watching the little Prarie Dogs. You can pull over and watch them. I like swimming there. Sometimes you see bald eagles. There are many campgrounds. There is even free places to camp. The campground does give 50% if you have an American the beautiful passport. All the campgrounds are nice and we'll kept. It is a big Lake. Only about 8 or 10 miles from Ponca City. I took a lot of pictures but somehow they disappeared off my phone. 

I love the Prairie Dogs 

Spent the spring here and really enjoyed the campsites in the middle loop along with the easy access to a decent hiking trail. Weekdays are awesome, but can get crowded on holiday weekends.

Kaw Lake dam is a short drive from the dam and can be an excellent striped bass or hybrid striped bass fishing area.

Camp Hosts are great and is the trail head for a great hike

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 dogs. There is no water hookup, unless you have a long hose &amp; are close to any of the bathrooms. Perfect lake views, beautiful sunset, very quiet &amp; peaceful. Couldn’t ask for a better night stay!

Perfect spot for a quick getaway. Water faucets are spread around the campground, but not at every spot. Bathrooms are ok, but not great.

Beautiful Campground

Super nice view and platform. Panicked when the couple with two kids parked behind me. Oh, the yelling. I guess the tension was too much because thankfully they left and never came back. 😂 Other than that terrifying sh** show, I had an absolutely beautiful night. The weather was perfect, and that view was 🔥. 

I didn’t use the showers or bathrooms.
