Confusing
The State Park is on one side of the Lake and the Campground is on the other. There is no public road between the two. The campground is nice but it's an extremely long walking distance to the lake.

Very quite campground, lots of shaded areas for tent campers. Shower houses ver clean!
This campsite is HUGE. Has over 400 campsites and the first 17 have places you can keep your horses! Something I have never seen before. Some sites are not okay for tent camping and when we got there we had to go back to the office to see if we could change our site. Lucky for us you get one free site switch a stay, so that was nice. The beach is big but unfortunately no dogs allowed. It would be nice for them to include a section where dogs were allowed so we could enjoy. We spent our day on the trails instead. A lot of RV camping but overall it was a great trip!
I stayed at the campground with my older kids. It's a very large campground and spread out, which is great for privacy. We LOVED our campsite, as it was very private and shaded, although a little bit of a walk to the restrooms.
I would highly recommend bring bikes if you can. There is a nice bike trail. We didn't hit the hiking trails, but they were available. It was very quiet. We normally camp at Caesar Creek, and we were a little disappointed that there was not a camping beach available, since that's one of our favorite things to do. The beach and water recreation area are a long drive away, which made it more trouble than it was worth.
If you're looking for quiet, beautiful setting, this is the place. If you have a boat, it's nice large lake. If you're looking to be entertained, this may not be the spot for you.
Camp sites are all blacktop, level, and clean. Nice bath houses, and playgrounds. Some trails but not a lot else to see. Close to food and shopping areas. We stayed in 69 and 70. C loop is all nice.
Park was nice and very clean. Much larger than expected. All off the other campers were very nice. I was a bit shocked to have 50 amp hookup, but no water. No sewer either, but wasn't shocked by that. Just never been anywhere that had pwr but no water. Stayed 2 nights. Shower house was clean, but ran out of hot water long before we tried it. We will definitely go back, with our water tank full!
Our favorite campsite for the outskirts of Cincinnati. Lots of great spots available! You can get to the lake in about a 15 minute drive.
Very friendly and helpful at the entrance. I had never been here but the woman answered all of my questions.
Almost $30 for tent/truck camping but comes with electric hookup.
Nice paved spots with electric or full hook ups. Good trails, 20 min from mall and restaurants, nice lake, bathrooms, and plenty of shade.
The trails used to be really nice maybe it’s just an off season but was not impressed with the amount of trash in the water and in the trails itself. Otherwise if you can overlook the trash, it’s decent 🚮😕
Why is hunting with guns allowed in this campground?
I’ve been going to Eastfork for many years now and it will always be a second home to me. The campsites are good sized and wide spread. Most sites are set a bit in the woods which gives you more privacy. Bath houses are always clean and the showers are well maintained. If you like walking the trails, there is a great variety of different paths and maps and signs to assist you. A friend and I went out for a hike and got turned around after dark. We sent a message to the Eastfork Facebook page and they answered us within 5 minutes and helped direct us out! I will always recommend this place!
Great place to come. The beach area was nice. Camp sites were clean and well kept. Bathrooms were clean it hot .. will be back ❤️
Beautiful campground. We stayed at Site 83 in loop C . It is a phenomenal electric site. Huge campsite with lots of privacy and plenty of space to put your tent up , probably 100 feet between the car and the picnic table . Sites around us we barely visible from our campsite. The only problem was it rained the whole week we were there and our site and tent got flooded . On Monday night we had severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings so we hunkered down in our car until severe part of the storm passed . Our tent had standing water and our blankets were soaked so we had to wash our clothes at the laundromat up the road . We brought all our fishing gear but all the docks were closed all week do to flash flooding. Jungle Jim’s is a nice store that has everything you could ever imagine, you can drink beer while shopping, and they have all kinds of international foods. Wednesday we went to a Cincinnati Reds game , which they won! Then the flash flooding and storms came back and our tent flooded again. Thursday we played putt putt golf , although the course could use a little repair. And we were actually able to have a nice fire and enjoy the rest of our trip. Bathrooms were nice , had hot water in the showers , flush toilets . Camp store had some camping necessities and souvenirs. Had a trail near the store that we didn’t get to explore because it was under water . Couldn’t get down to the beach or docks due to flooding. Overall a beautiful and huge campground with lots of good sites. We just had terrible weather. If it wouldn’t have rained so much we could have been a lot more .
Beautiful hiking scenic trails, as well as huge boat ramp and fishing areas, archery set up, and lots more!
Very large park with plenty to do. It has easy access to the water and a lot of different hiking trails. Our campsite was small but had plenty of room for a car/RV.
This is your standard Ohio State Park campground. It has the usual parking, water, restrooms, camp store, and activities.
East Fork is rather nice as it has the lake and long trails. Just be prepared if you go on hikes to get turned around. The park is huge so not everything is in the campground area. If you drive around to the other side and do some of the trails over there be aware that two trails use blue blazes. They could use more blazes on the trails in general but watch out for the two blue blazes in the same area as it got us turned around.
This is great when you want to get away from the city but you don't want a long drive.
Not a bad little park for mountain biking, hiking, etc.
Excellent location from Cincinnati, around 30 minutes. Hike along the hills, Fish for crappie and bluegill. Enjoy lunch at any of the 4 clean large areas. Stay at an electric only or full hookup spot and hang out by the campfire. This campground is spacious, clean and well kept and not to far from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Great place to go to get away from the city and routine! But also close enough incase you left something at home!
I love just pulling into a site and not leveling the RV. Besides that, the park is well kept with plenty of spaces and the bathhouse is clean. Lots of hiking trails including house trails.
Private campsites, nice big lake for swimming, fishing and boating, pets allowed. Perfect for all seasons! Horseback riding available as well!
We camped here in late spring. It was still pretty cold and even got a little snow one night. We were pretty much alone in the campground. The sites were huge! No water in our site but we did have electric. The rolling hills in this part of Ohio are beautiful. There is a huge lake that you can access from the camp ground. It was still really cold when we went but my understanding is that the fishing here is excellent. The restrooms looked brand new. There was a lot of downed trees, mostly ash trees. So this made for easy gathering for firewood. The campground staff was really nice and welcoming. This is a huge state park with a variety of accommodations. Overall excellent place.
The one factor that really decreased rating for me is that the beach that's within the campground is closed down. So end up driving 25-30 minutes to the other side of the lake that does have a great beach area. My husband complained that there was only 2 bathroom stalls in the campground loop we were at. However the bathrooms were nice with hot water. Overall nice peaceful place with friendly staff and campers. Just need to improve beach on campground. We seen so many deer while we were camping so that was awesome too!
my friend and I went to one of the primitive camping sites (#2). The “campsite” was a few wooden shelters. a fIre ring, a creepy vibe and two toilet seats In an enclosed (with out doors) shelter. We decided to keep on hiking and we found a spot by the lake that was previously camped at. The trails are great with little to no traffic. Definitely, with out a doubt bring bug spray. Besides the spiders and mosquitos we were dealing with ticks left and right!
Generous sized campsites, a lot of them are wooded which we prefer, with around 400 sites there are plenty to choose from! Bathroom/shower facilities are updated and usually well maintained. There is a large public beach but it's on the other side of the park so you have to drive all the way around to get to it, no short cuts. They have a camp ground beach but it's been closed the last 2 years. Lots of hiking trails, bridal trails and a bike path. Wish list for this park: Boat rental, dog park, dog beach/water access. Overall a beautiful park.
With over 400 sites, there are many options to choose from. The sites are spacious and private, while also providing a community atmosphere. East Fork’s bathrooms are probably standard for other state parks, though not ebiugh to supply demand with the minimal number of full hook sites. The downside to East Fork is the lack of a clean campsite beach. As a local, I won’t let my kiddos at the beach or the lake during the later summer months.
East Fork’s Halloween Campouts are always a best time for our family.
Great state campground on a beautiful lake.
We went the first weekend it was open this year and had a great experience. Stayed Friday-Sunday on a full hookup site against the woods, the road had a loop at the end for easy pull through.
We registered/paid online but the entire weekend there were no staff to be found. Someone came by Friday night when we pulled in to tell us we could check in at the booth at the entrance of the park but all weekend there was no one working. We tried multiple times on Saturday but never found anyone, so we never technically checked in.
Other than that the trip was great! Would recommend this campground.
Swimming, fishing, geocaching, star gazing.... So much to do here. The various hiking trails around the lake are a pleasant bonus.
