Closed For the Season

This campground is closed for the season from October 16, 2024 through March 31, 2025.

Batesville KOA, near Batesville, Indiana, is a spacious campground that caters to both tent campers and RV enthusiasts. With a mix of gravel sites and plenty of green space, it’s a decent spot for a quick stop or a longer stay.

The campground features nice fishing ponds, which some visitors found to be a highlight during their stay. Many campers appreciated the friendly staff, noting that they were attentive and helpful throughout their visit. As one reviewer put it, “Awesome campground, very courteous staff.”

For those passing through, the nearby Toros Mexican restaurant comes highly recommended for a tasty meal. Big! Lots of spots! Nice fishing ponds

This is two Campgrounds in one! I’ve seen a couple Koas like this. We had a pond site, nice gravel. We we’re there only one night just passing through! Toros Mexican restaurant was good! Cell service inside the campground for Verizon wasn’t good at all. I noticed when booking Koa online it says they have hardly any sites. When we got here the place had plenty of free sites. So maybe calling and reserving a spot is better.

It was OK

This is our second time staying at this park. The first time it was at the end of the season so I figured I would at least give it a second try. This is a 3.5 rating in my opinion but it has to be a 3 or 4 star. Awesome host, very attentive, pleasant, polite and helpful. She is everywhere and doing everything. The campgrounds have several sites in multiple sections. I love the large fire pits. There is plenty for the children to do, basketball court included the 13 year old rated it 4 5 and stated a pretty nice playground. There are sever beanbag toss games. I believe you have to bring your own bags. I wish there was a little more effort put into the grounds themselves. Gravel on the drives going to the sites, hay/straw for areas where mud is present, fill in some of the standing water sites and have a few more full hook up pull through sites. Also, I was not happy with the location of my firepit, I felt like we were right outside our neighbors window. It was too far from the site itself and too close to the road. We had a wonderful time while we were here and this was our second visit. I was happy there were sites for all 6 families in a short time period.

Nice greenspace and location

Batesville KOA is located within the Indian Lakes Campground, 10 minutes east of downtown Batesville, an hour to the east of Indianapolis and an hour to the west of Cincinnati. Reserving the KOA site was effortless on the KOA website. We generally do not stay at KOA’s for more than 1-2 nights because they do not allow you to pre-reserve a specific site. Sites are assigned at management's discretion. We’re a married couple in our forties traveling with two dogs and a cat in our 37 foot motorhome. We arrived at this KOA with the intention to bridge into our stay into the larger property, we were only in the KOA loop 2 nights. This was the week IN/KY/OH began Covid-19 stay at home restrictions. The KOA loop of the Indian Lakes property has lots of green space, the sites are all gravel with a small lake inside the loop that offers calming views. We stayed comfortably at a 30amp/water/sewer site. Because our stay was early in the season the property had not received their updated property maps. We did not access the laundry, restrooms or camp store due to COVID-19.

Nice campground

This was the first time I’ve stayed in a campground that was split with Thousand Trails. The sites for KOA had mature trees and were of decent size. We reserved a back-in full hook up site and stayed for two days. Our site was level but not all sites were level as I watched my neighbor pull in. The campground had a very nice pool which was very clean and they have a private swimming beach which was also very clean and well maintained. The Thousand trails property was easily 6-7 times larger than the KOA portion of the park. All amenities are shared and it appears that at least one bathroom was being updated. The others look to need some repair and are dated but clean. Campground was very quiet at night with no rowdy or loud campers during our stay. I would stay again.
