Breaking Bad Season 8
We got here after close and the site we rented already had someone there. A full time resident. Because we are in the full time resident section. “The Overlook”. A nice neighbor that noticed we were looking confused took us to the maintenance man, thank God, because no one was answering the phone for the emergency line. The maintenance man Travis is awesome. He’s two of our three stars. He put us where he could but the site still left a lot to be desired. Red clay everywhere. Trash everywhere. No shade and although most of the people here are very nice there are a few very sketchy full time residents as well. The kids can’t play outside without me let’s say. The rest of the park looks way better than this part, I would say just don’t stay in the overlook section and you may love it. You would think we would have been offered some money off or something for our troubles but the park is run by teenagers so nope. Nothing. 👀 Good luck!
Kid friendly
Lots of sites, some shaded some not. Activities for the entire family to enjoy. They have a small cafe that’s is seasonal. Beautiful scenery. Limited on golf cart rentals so bring your own if you can. Do however have to pay extra for water slides and paddle boats.
Holidays here are GREAT!
Halloween is awesome here, plan on a solid week here to see things in the area. Gem mines, waterfalls, brewery and shopping in nearby Asheville. There is plenty to do year round, make sure to buy a family pass for games etc. they really cater to family oriented fun. The tent sights high up require a 4x4 and we watched the creek flood and wash a bunch of the lower sights out. Brings warm clothes as we encountered frosty evenings and rainy days- you are in the foothills! Tent sights on bottom of hill can be raging rivers from the streams over flow. Cabins look amazing and there are always activities. Emerald village is great and there is a trout farm you can visit and catch dinner guaranteed!

It was good-ish
Let me start out by saying we stayed in a cabin, for a week. The place is in serious need of an upgrade but as it stands is still fun for the kids. The water slide costs 15.00 per day or you can do a family plan. The cabin itself was decent but nothing has been done to it in a while. The oven didn’t work, the wall ac’s barely worked and had large gaps where they didn’t care during install. Half the curtains were missing so it made it even hotter inside.
The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Especially in the cafe try the everything ice cream
The pool area and pool itself could use some tlc but as I said before my kids loved it.
I would return with our pup and not stay in a cabin again. 6/10
pet friendly
Friendly Staff but little high priced
We had a good time here this past weekend. The staff is really friendly however I thought the price was on the high side when the pool hasn’t opened yet. Make sure you bring leveling blocks. Also if you want to do the water activities and water slide that is extra and you will need to purchase an arm band.
Reality doesn’t match website
We were so excited to spend a week here based on the website. Not sure when those photos were take but the place is seriously run down. I have never seen potholes so big! The sites at “The Overlook” have a good view but there is zero grass and anything outside of where you park is red mud. I hope they spend some money to restore the campground to beauty.
We have been pretty happy with our stay
Great little spot for a family get away. We came in late after leaving another place down the road that was just awful. They waited until we arrived even though it was after the office closed.
They have a lot of little activities during the day and even for the family. We would stay here again, I just wish it was a little cheaper ($57 a night full hook ups)and it would be nice if cell phone service was better as there is pretty much one bar everywhere you go in the camp ground for Verizon.
Site was ok, pool was great, bathrooms... not so much.
Well,
The site that we stayed on was great. Very close to the lake. The lake was fantastic! Lots of good fishing for the kids. There was a nice playground too. The pool was so nice and a life saver because it was pretty warm during the day.
The bad part about this place was the bathrooms. They were very dirty and there were only 2 bathhouses for dozens and dozens of sites. The shower was awful as it was very moldy and creepy. Overall, I wouldn’t return because of the bathroom situation. However, I believe the new owners just took over when we stayed so since then they may have remedied the bathroom situation.

Fun campground for the kids.
Has a water slide and pool.
Love Hidden Creek
Best family campground ever.We loved the canoes and waterslide
Mediocre at best
We stayed for five days in June. Just be aware that there is no tv reception (not one channel) and cell reception is nonexistent due to being in a valley. They are however in the process of installing cable. It was not completed when we were there. The pool and water slide were open but you have to pay extra for the water slide. The "lake" they say you can fish in was muddy brown and disgusting looking. It was just ok for us.
