With 85 sites spread across both forested areas and open terrain, Coles Creek State Park Campground provides water and electric hookups for RVs up to 40 feet. The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through early September, with nightly rates ranging from $20-$33. Access roads can be rough, and reservations help secure preferred spots during peak times.
Sites vary significantly in character and privacy. Waterfront locations along the St. Lawrence River offer direct water access and sunset views, though these fill quickly due to high demand. Interior sites sit closer together in open field areas where neighbors are visible. "People drive super slow and watch for kids," notes Erin M., making the grounds family-friendly for cycling children.
The campground's position on the St. Lawrence Seaway allows campers to watch commercial ships pass by. Swimming areas provide relief from summer heat, though the water runs cold. Three-lane dump station handles RV waste efficiently, and bathhouses stay clean throughout the season. Hiking and biking trails extend into the surrounding state park.
For those preferring smaller, more secluded settings, Lisbon Beach Campground offers a different atmosphere 14 miles southwest.
