What you should know
Vehicle requirements: Several areas have rough access roads requiring appropriate vehicles. At Crane Pond Dispersed Site, "4WD is required, if you go back there without it your day is gonna suck. From experience - if your vehicle isn't lifted you may come out with a ding or two from rocks."
Seasonal crowds: Weekends and holidays bring significantly more campers. A Somerset visitor observed, "Weekend was interrupted by a domestic violence situation a few sites down... Took state police over 50 minutes to respond and multiple families left."
No connectivity: Most sites have little to no cell service. At Somerset Airfield, a camper specified "No garbage service, no water, no cell service. Basically a camp site where you can share a fire with the neighbors."
