There are four campground along this road. Yaak falls, red top (only 3 spots) white tail, and Pete’s creek.

TravelerWe stayed in a yurt it was clean and dry. The camp grounds were nice maybe a bit over crowded but I guess it was that time of the year.
TravelerI been through the area a couple times on quick trips,I always wanted to return and explore the area without knowing much about it and the people were very helpful. Yes they told us how to get to Ross Creek Cedars and Kootenai falls (go early), absolutely stunning! I also found Libby Dam, we sat on the tailgate eating lunch and watched eagles soaring and fishing on the bottom side of the dam. The trail down to the river was great, the boys had a blast riding their bikes on it. The only downside was being right next to the highway but that also made it nice for getting out and exploring too.
TravelerStopped by on my way through Montana in May. The campground was empty except for 3 other families since it was still the off season, so it was a very quiet stay and I got to fall asleep to the sound of the river right behind my spot.
LegendOur friend's family has a campout here every year on Labor Day. The sites are large, and loop B has the most sites on the water. There is a boat launch and a dock, perfect for fishing. The bathrooms are SUPER clean and heated when it's chilly out. $18 for a Montana resident and $26 for out of staters. No cell service!!
GuideTHIS CAMPGROUND IS IN MONTANA, NOT IN IDAHO It’s 15 miles down a well maintained road with beautiful views of the cabinet mountains. I was there a Saturday in July and only two campsites were being used. There is a 1.7 mile “nature trail” that circles the lake, and there is also a trail head to a more substantial hike with reportable good views. The campground is free and has a 16 night maximum stay. There are two vault toilets at the campground supplied with tissue.
ScoutIt's near the Idaho and Montana border. I found plenty of time to just chill while looking for a more long term spot. I did laundry at the lakeside laundry mat for less than $5 got some honey and chocolate at the gift shop, some fresh produce and essentials at the Sinclair station, and enjoyed nearby recreation spots for the scenery. The motel is too rich for me. If you are in transit and looking to recharge, there's plenty of affordable and free resources. If you are looking to stay to yourself you'll be alright, if your social, people are pretty friendly, just don't hang around public spaces after 7 if you don't like rowdy noises.
