Best RV Parks & Resorts near Remus, MI

Remus-area RV parks provide full-hookup options between April and October, with several facilities accommodating larger motorhomes. Mount Pleasant RV Resort features 50-amp electric, sewer, and water hookups for larger rigs, while Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park offers similar amenities through October 31. River Ridge RV Resort in nearby Stanwood includes pull-through sites with full hookups and access to the Muskegon River, though tight spacing between sites may challenge wider RVs with multiple slides. Three Seasons Campground near Greenville maintains gravel sites with 50-amp service from April through September. "Most sites are large and well separated from other sites by trees and underbrush, but some require considerable leveling as the driver side can be considerably lower," noted one visitor.

Full-hookup sites typically include 50-amp electric service, with most parks offering water and sewer connections at individual sites. Seasonal availability varies by location, with most parks operating from mid-April through October. Many campgrounds maintain on-site dump stations and clean shower facilities, though dated bathroom buildings appear in several visitor reviews. Cell service fluctuates throughout the region, with strong coverage at Mount Pleasant facilities but limited reception in more rural locations. Pet-friendly policies are standard at most area RV parks, though size and breed restrictions may apply. Weekends fill quickly during summer months and during fall color season, particularly at parks with recreational amenities like pools, fishing access, and river activities.

    Rvino - Camp Cadillac, LLC

    Not fancy, but nice

Really nice little campground. Not fancy, but clean and well kept. Pool and petting zoo for the kids. Small store with ice, few necessities and ice cream. Pond in the back on the small river for fishing. Quite a few seasonal campers. Anywhere from rustic to full hook up. Pet friendly. All gravel/dirt/grass sites. Most have trees. Fire pits quite small. Bathrooms very nice and updated.

    Herrick Recreation Area

    Rustic but fun

Rustic feel as all sites are electric but no water hook up. There are spigots in the center as well as a dump station and potable water fill. My family has camped here for years as it is close to home. They sell fire wood and the bath houses are cleaned multiple times as day and the showers are usually pretty warm as well. Great place to camp as a group. A few different play grounds and a full beach across the road.

    Benton Lake Campground

Larger sites in the woods along a lake

In the Huron-Manistee National Forest is this rustic campground. The sites are really big and spread out. They are split between 2 loops. The first loop was almost filled so we checked the second one and found a site away from others. It felt like we were alone until we took a walk around the campground. Picnic table, fire pit and lantern stand are standard. Paved spots for rv’s with plenty of room for tents. Vault toilets are spread throughout. There is even a parking area for visitors.

We walked down the short trail to see the lake. The trail goes partially along the lake but it’s not very long. We saw 2 piers- one had a jet ski tied to it. Camp was quiet enough to hear the tree fall just outside our campsite. Would it still make a noise if we weren’t here?

This is a peaceful discovery that is perfect for a getaway.

    Cadillac Woods Campground

    Great Old School Camping

This campground is the perfect spot if you want to still have a camping experience and get away from RV parks. The terrain there makes for a beautiful view. The new owners are great and made our group feel right at home! The pool, putt putt, and walking trails were nice as well! The pull through sites were great for the two 28’ fifth wheels and 30 ft bumper pull in our group. There are a lot of trees but the new owners have worked hard to make sure the sites are cleared enough to park in. Will definitely be back again and will be interested to see what more great things Shane and Cindy have in store for this place.

Ionia State Recreation Area — Ionia Recreation Area

    Great activities for outdoors lovers

Ionia has so many great outdoor activities for almost anyone.  There is a disc golf course, mountain bike trail, equestrian trails, hiking trails, a beautiful no wake lake perfect for swimming, kayaking, or fishing.   The beach is fantastic especially for little kids who might not be the best swimmers ready for Lake Michigan or lakes with lots of boats and waves to deal with.  Nice and sandy and a nice store and ice cream shop at the beach.

The campground itself is very nice, but you may find the activities are a short drive away from your site to get there.  The sites are all a little bit shallow especially if you have a larger travel trailer you may find it a bit tight.  There is a great variety of shaded and sunny sites.   There is only one bathroom for the campground so it can be a bit busy and it could probably use an update.

    The Lost Oak's Campground

    Awesome Wooded Campground!

We stayed here over Labor Day Weekend 2021 and had a great time. The electric sites are all large campsites that are very long with lots of options on how you want to setup. Awesome wood pricing that's delivered directly to the campsite. Lots of walking trails and the campground was dog friendly. Extremely friendly owners who keep the campground and it's facilities very very clean. The outdoor showers were great! Great water pressure and HOT water! There's a little Fresh Produce stand across the street, easy walking distance for some great veggies, eggs, and baked goods. Can't wait to come back and see what the new owners have added after the season!

Great Cell Coverage on AT&T (80mbps+ down); decent coverage on Sprint/TMobile and Verizon.

    Shelley Lake Campground

    If you’re overlanding and just

need a quiet crash the night spot. It’s with ok sized sites. But for $10..... how can you not give this 5 stars. Couple hiking trails and ground to explore and relax after driving all day. Probably wouldn’t recommend any big rigs.

    Brower Park Campground

    Beautiful County Park

Brower Park is a quiet campground with three separate areas with sites. They accommodate large RVs as well as smaller trailers and tents. Each site has a fire pit and a picnic table. Electricity and water hookup is included at each site. Our site was near the Muskegon River and was very peaceful. Bathrooms and showers were clean and easily accessible.

    Pines Point Campground

Great rustic+ spot, a family favorite

Pines Point is a rustic Manistee National Forest campground with some unique features. There are a small number of reservable sites in something of a group camping area but most sites are not reservable. The area is managed by concessionaire American Land and Leisure with an on-site resident manager. Current fee for camping is $24 per night. The campground is very beautiful in an out of the way wooded area along the White River. Some sites are located along the river on a low bluff, with a Riverside path and several stairways to access the river. Most sites are large and well separated from other sites by trees and underbrush. This is a rustic campground with no electric or other hookups. There are conveniently located water spigots with good volume and pressure located throughout the campground. One of the unique features however, is that there is a restroom building with flush toilets! There is a day use/picnic area adjacent to the campground that includes a canoe / kayak launch. This area also has a fee if you are not a registered camper. This leads us to the other unique feature of the campground, which is a "tuber's loop" on the river which leads from the canoe launch around a large peninsula containing the picnic area to a wellmarked takeout point where one can walk less than 50 yards back to the canoe launch to do it again! The float takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes through very scenic and wild section of river, the river is mostly rocky and shallow with a good current. The river is also popular for other kayak / canoe trips with multiple launch and take out points. There is no longer a kayak/canoe/tube rental service in the area, so bring your own! There is basically no cell service in the area of the campground. The nearby small town of Hesperia has a full service grocery, gas stations etc. in our experience the campground is raPines Point is a rustic Manistee National Forest campground with some unique features. A side note, there is a free, dispersed camping area suitable for tents and maybe small campers along 160th Ave South of Arthur Rd. There are no services or amenities and the road is a bit sketchy, but it might be an option if Pines Point is full or you prefer more seclusion and no fees!

Guide to Remus

Remus-area RV campgrounds feature numerous full-hookup options in central Michigan, approximately 70 miles north of Lansing. The region experiences four distinct seasons with summer highs averaging 80-85°F and winter temperatures regularly dropping below freezing. Most campgrounds operate seasonally between April and October due to Michigan's winter conditions.

What to do

Boating and water recreation: The River Ridge RV Resort in Stanwood offers direct water access with convenient amenities. "They also have a marina so if you have a boat they will put it in the water for you," explains one camper. The resort offers weekend water activities during peak summer months.

Hiking and nature trails: Several campgrounds maintain walking paths through wooded areas. Woods and Water RV Resort features "wonderful trails for hiking" according to visitor Amie R., who also noted the "very quiet" atmosphere and "spacious sites" that are "easy to back into."

Casino gaming and entertainment: Multiple campgrounds provide convenient access to local gaming. "My aunt loves to visit the soaring eagle casino and because we live about an hour and half away, she likes to camp at the campground," shares Stephanie C. "This campground is a few miles from the casino, but offer free shuttles to the soaring eagle properties."

What campers like

Swimming amenities: Three Seasons Campground provides multiple water recreation options. "The campground offers an in ground swimming pool (non-heated), small store, a basic mini-golf course, horseshoe pits, docks, kayak rental, a pavilion, and a small arcade room," writes Matt S., who used the campground as a "base camp" for regional exploration.

Family activities: Weekend programming keeps younger campers engaged. Beckie G. highlights the "weekend activities for the kids" at Three Seasons Campground including "karaoke, hayrides, theme parties or weekends" and notes the new beach area and game room with updated equipment.

Clean facilities: Cedar Springs RV Resort receives consistent praise for maintenance. "The cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground," states Becky C., while Megan S. confirms "restrooms are always immaculately clean" and notes the "nice sandy swimming area" and proximity to the F. Meijer bike path.

What you should know

Seasonal variations: Most campgrounds operate between April and October, with peak season running late June through August. Weekends fill quickly during summer and fall color season, particularly at resorts with recreational amenities.

Site spacing considerations: Site dimensions and privacy vary significantly across campgrounds. At Harrison RV Family Campground, Donna M. describes a "quiet and peaceful setting" with helpful camp hosts, reflecting the more spaced layout of this facility.

Highway proximity: Some campgrounds experience traffic noise due to proximity to major roads. Cedar Springs RV Resort has "highway noise" according to Becky C., who specifically notes "you do get a lot of road noise, especially when trucks hit the chatter bumps on the side."

Tips for camping with families

Water recreation options: Multiple campgrounds offer water attractions for children. Woods and Water RV Resort features a "wonderful little swim area with water slide" according to reviews, making it popular with families during warm summer weekends.

Scheduled activities: "Weekend barrel train rides and hay rides" at Cedar Springs RV Resort provide structured entertainment for children. The campground's playground and swimming area offer additional recreation between organized events.

Budget-friendly alternatives: While Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park charges premium rates (around $64/night), Renee C. notes "you get discounts at the water park!" and mentions "super clean restrooms and laundry," offering value for families seeking amenities.

Tips from RVers

Leveling requirements: Prepare leveling blocks for uneven terrain throughout the region. Michael G. described Soaring Eagle Hideaway as a "pretty basic campground with paved sites and a nice lake," noting it works well "for a one nighter or a casino stay."

Utility connections: Most RV campgrounds near Remus, Michigan offer 50-amp service with water and sewer hookups. Sites typically accommodate larger motorhomes, though some parks require advance reservations for longer units during peak season.

Campground atmosphere: Consider the environment that matches your preference. River Valley RV Park stands out with its "7 acre swimming and fishing pond" and river bordering the property. Levi D. highlights "rentals of boats, paddle boards, fishing boats, paddle boats and banana bikes" plus WiFi coverage throughout the grounds.
