Great week in May
Stayed here for a week and it was great. Plenty to do to keep you busy. Nice pool with retractable roof. Playset for kids. Full service marina with boat rentals. Golf cart rentals as well.

Prizer Point is where I hostess a (Usually) large-ish group of women campers for a looong weekend of festivities. Our weekend themes have been simple (this year I taught Geocaching) to full blown festival (last year was Pirate's in the Cove). The success of the event weekends is largely due to the amazing staff at Prizer, as they accommodate a lot of last minute pleas for changes and help! This customer service amenity was truly evident this last April, when I hosted over 70 women campers from across the United States who camp local to a natural disaster area while they do volunteer services in the affected community - the Prizer staff made our stay very accommodating, even opening up the new "lagoon" area for our RV's with freshly paved full hookup pull through sites, a beautifully renovated bath house, large grassy area for gathering and our tent campers, and a bonfire area. The pools were (are usually are not) open when the women and I come to camp on our "week-end" (every September), and the lake was already at winter pool this year, but that makes it quite easy to launch a kayak, or SUP right from the floating dock that is sitting on the bottom of the inlet. In years past we've stayed in the cove area, on the original side of the park, where there is only water and electric hook ups. Prizer has a "honey wagon" that comes and pumps your waste water tanks every other day or as needed. The new lagoon area has full hook up so you don't need the honey wagon.
We had a blast at Prizer Point KOA with our family over a weekend recently. Our site was on Ontario Rd, waterfront with plenty of spaces for the littles to run and play. Love that it’s dog friendly. Very clean and updated with more improvements in the works. Looking forward to visiting again this summer!
We stayed here for 2 nights and were pleased with our large, quiet site overlooking the "lagoon" and marina. The campground was half empty (due to end-of-season campers and kids heading back to school). We had plenty of space to enjoy ourselves. There are trails through the woods and riding bikes through the campground allowed us to view the lake from beautiful angles. This is probably a very busy campground in the summer for boaters and water lovers. The store was a little bare, but we weren't there to shop anyway. :-)
We enjoyed the amenities that came with our stay. There was a late night check in mishap (no one answered, and we were left wandering around to look for space) they did offer us 1/2 off the first night. The lagoon was fun, and we enjoyed it, could use a lil underside cleaning and inflation maintainence. Bathhouses clean, kiddie/outdoor pool nice for adults too.
We loved our visit to this KOA! Waterpark in the summer, boating activities, lake front sites. Countless activities for the kids and the pools are nice too! We cant wait to go back!
Very good for pull behinds or semi-permanent but less than desirable for tent campers. Tents were relegated to a narrow strip in the campground really too small for campers. Water and electric are available but restrooms/showers are about 1/4 mile away. Not what would be considered tent friendly.
Pretty quiet and peaceful campground in early April.
Website said the Pier restaurant would be open but when we arrived it wasn't scheduled to open until later in the month.
Restrooms and showers were clean but most are very small. There is 1 handicapped and 1 family unit for the facility.
Standing dead trees in the tent site. I had to ask workers to cut 1 tree beside my site when I arrived.
Gave them a (generous) 4 from our perspective.
Good fishing! I love the perks of Prizer! Worth the cost!
Most sites have great views of Lake Barkley! Large camp store with a restaurant that serves sandwiches, pizza, beer and sodas... Golf cart rentals and the marina has boat rentals. Full hookups on most sites including cable, and lakeside sites have the “honey wagon” that comes around to empty tanks. WiFi is pretty ok. Cell reception is good. Cabin rental and seasonal sites available.
This KOA is situated on a beautiful lake. We went over Memorial Day Weekend so it was a packed house. In my opinion this particular KOA was not up to par as far as grounds keeping, as the other’s I’ve stayed at. But we still had a great time. Our waterfront site was beautiful, and all the kids loved the zero entry children’s pool.
When I stayed at Prizer Point, I felt as if I were in a small coastal town. It is the first campground I have been to that has condominiums. It doesn’t matter what kind of camping or glamping you do, this campground has it, except for yurts. However, they do have tree houses. There are also choices of cabins,“chalets”(although it didn’t look like a chalet when I looked at one), bungalows, floating cabins, etc. Of course, being a tent camper, that’s my choice. Some of the tent sites are on top of each other, but if you are lucky enough, you can stay at a site beside the woods. You still don’t get complete privacy, but it is better than being on the other side of the path where the tent sites are on top of each other. The tent sites are grassy, which I like. I prefer a grassy site over a concrete pad. Some people love the large campgrounds with lots of activities, especially when there are children with you. Since I am mainly a tent camper, I prefer the solitude of being in the woods. Fortunately, I was there at the beginning of the week, and it wasn’t as crowded as it normally would be. Personally, and subjectively, I would rate this campground one star; but objectively, I have to rate it five stars because it offers so much. While I was there, I toured the campground and was amazed at how much they have. They have go carts, oversized chess, swimming pools, a soccer field, a marina, a restaurant, and a section called Prizer Lagoon. You can also rent golf carts to get around, and you will want to do that unless you want to walk for miles. There, you can play in the inflatable obstacle course or ride in a paddle boat. There is also a zip line that crosses the water. For RVers, you have quite a few options. One section has formal concrete pads with hookups. Another section is not as“sanitized” but offers everything you need for your RV. I was surprised by the size of the marina, which was huge according to my limited knowledge of marinas at campgrounds. There is also a boat ramp for when you want to launch your own boat. If I wanted to RV, I would choose the little peninsula beside the boat ramp. Great view! If I wanted to stay in a cabin, there are some cabins next to the lake that also have great views. Overall, this campground has everything you want in a resort campground.
You can't beat having a lake next to you while you are camping. This is something my family and I always look for when we are camping. Water is always a great place to entertain the kids and family. The lake here is great, although it was pretty busy when we went. It was in the summer, so I understand and expected it to be busy. We saw people fishing, swimming, boating, tubing, and kayaking. I really wish there was a place nearby to rent kayaks because that looked like a blast. Next time we will definitely bring our own. The campground was good, pretty generic, but clean. Each campsite had its own table and fire pit. Although when we were there, the fire ban was on so we couldn't build a fire- which is understandable. It would have been too hot for a fire, anyways. We stopped at the first grocery store we found before heading to the campground to buy snacks and water. Thankfully we bought water because they didn't have water at the campground. We also really enjoyed some hikes nearby that had the best views. We did a few hikes in the morning that were only a few miles long, and didn't take us long to get there. Within driving distance of the campground. The bugs were out in full effect, so definitely bring spray if you plan to hike. There was some waterfalls and standing water on the hikes and the mosquitos were around this area. The weather was great while we were here, but we applied sunscreen like crazy especially when we were by the lake. The cost was fairly cheap, $12 a night.
We really enjoyed this place. Its pricey but they have a million activities for the price. The campsites are all beautiful and are either close or directly on the water.
RV sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Many sites have great view of the lake. I recommend renting a golf cart. This is a very large campground. They have free kayak and paddle boats. Very attentive staff.
