Little Ocmulgee State Park & Lodge

    Nice little park

Nice quiet park! Good assortment of pull through and back in sites, 30/50 amp sites. The campground is not flat, so some of the sites aren’t level, I did have to use a couple of boards to level my camper. Lots of trees.

Cabins, small lake, walking/bike trails. Trail was a good bit sandy. Small boardwalk on the trail. Not a golfer, but there is a course also.

Usually the hosts are excellent, very helpful!

Only complaint, only one dump station. Gets very busy with everyone leaving, so get there early!

Beaver Run RV Park & Campground

    Great little place to stop.

Couldn’t ask for a better stop. Full hook ups, easy checkin, super friendly staff, & warm cookies at checkin. There’s a ton of stuff for kids to do paddle boat, swimming, water slide, park, dog run, fishing. Possibly best of all WiFi that doesn’t suck. Remote work is totally doable at this location even while kids are streaming some Netflix! Thanks for a great stay well be back.

    Towns Bluff Park

    Great campground

This is a county campground. It takes Pass Port America for Sunday thru Wednesday. If you’re looking for a resort campground, go somewhere else, this out in the middle of the woods, isolated, quiet and very nice. The lady that runs the museum & campground is very nice. She will do anything within her power to make your stay great. The sites are water & electric with a dump site as you leave 30/50 amp pull through/ back in. All sites appear to be close to level. Hazelhurst & Baxley are reasonably close. Gas/Diesel within 3 miles. Good food at Jan’s Chicken & Ma’s close to Uvalda.

    Boss RV Park

    A very nice campground

The sites are mostly gravel with areas of dirt, but mine was level. I was near the bath house and laundry which were both clean and well maintained. The population looks like a mix of mostly long-term residents, with a few mid to short-term. It is a full hookup facility, and all my connections worked well.

    Parkwood RV Park & Cottages

    Cute place right in town

This is a nice, clean park contently located on Highway 25 near downtown Statesboro, GA. They have full hook-up and level sites, most of which are pull-through. The wifi is strong. The grass is cut. The hosts are helpful and friendly. Parkwood is not a getaway, it's more of a stopover. We stayed here for a few nights while visiting family. There is an RV parts store nearby and all that Statesboro has to offer is within a short drive.

    Wiley Roost RV Park

    Camping under Old Oak Trees

Ashley here with The Dyrt. We're so happy to have this campground on our platform. With level sites, plenty of trees, and 30 or 50 amp hook-ups, this is a great place to get away from it all. Enjoy your food outside at the picnic table and roast some marshmallows in the community fire-pit. Check them out and leave them some love!

    Magnolia Springs State Park Campground

    Great Family Campground

We camped here in a small hybrid with 3 kids ages 8, 6, and 3. In the center or the campground there is a small playground. The kids didn’t end on it too much, but it was a nice addition. There is also some permanent (concrete) cornhole setup, but you’ll need your own bean bags. There is also a covered picnic area beside the bathhouse and playground with 3 picnic tables and it’s own fire pit. It wasn’t used while we were there, but if you were camping with a few other families it would be amazing!

Each site has electric and water, no sewer. I’ll get to which ones look like the best ones below. Some of the sites are awkward curving instead of straight back in, but most are pretty easy to get into. The only down side is that most sites have large concrete picnic tables and the fire ring is very close while also near a corner of the raised gravel parking level. This makes it a bit more challenging to set up chairs around the fire.

There is one bathhouse, which includes men and women’s bathroom and showers, a laundry room with a large sink (there is no sign that says you can’t wash dishes in this sink), and an all gender accessible toilet/shower room. This shower has a waist high spicket as well as a normal height one. The lower one worked really well to shower the 3 year old covered in vomit after my less than stellar decision to swing her in the hammock all nap time. 🤷‍♀️ The bathhouse was clean and the water hot. They had added a place to hang clothes while showering. There is not bench to set things down, and that would be my only suggestion. My husband said the shower in the men’s room was plumbed backwards and hot was cold and cold was hot. No issues in the women’s.

The rangers were fantastic and friendly. We participated in a hike with the park manager where she told us about the animals in the park and even let us feel grey fox and beaver pelts. We saw vultures and an armadillo. That finished with hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows! On Saturday we took the beginner archery lesson with another ranger. She was so patient with our 6 year old who gets frustrated very easily. It was so much fun! It was obvious that this particular ranger was great kids. The archery lesson was fun for the adults too. Later in the afternoon we participated in a scavenger hunt. Also done very well, definitely geared towards kids, (as expected) but it was definitely fun for the whole family. All the activities were well done. You can also rent paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, and bikes. All the trailers are family friendly. I think this park is perfect for families with young kids.

See this pictures for the best campsites. In short, 16 is the best site by far. Only one with a lake view. 12&14 would be my pick for two campers camping together.

    Sanwar RV Resort

    Exciting progress underway

Stumbled upon this after a relatively close campground was unhelpful for long term. This is a fresh park, many upgrades coming this year. The park has done great at speration of in progress and current campsites to avoid noise and congestion. The 2 laundrys are clean and feature a shower house-full bath, the manager and receptionist are friendly and responsive to any questions you may have. Great local businesses in Sandersville and close to plenty of fishing opportunities and scenic drives.

4 County RV Park & Campground

    Excellent in every way.

We stayed here for five nights and boy do I wish we had planned to stay longer! Spacious sites, new and super clean facilities including bathrooms, showers and laundry… and the park sits on a man-made lake. There are also campfire rings and picnic tables. As far as“settings” go, 4 County RV Park is one of the most idyllic and peaceful we’ve encountered in our one year on the road. WiFi, electric, water, sewer, all were top notch. We met some very nice people here as well and the owners, Rebecca and Troy, could not have been nicer. It is obvious they take great pride in their property and they really care that everyone has a good stay. We were 30 minutes from Macon so it was easy to hop on Hwy 16 to get there and enjoy what Macon has to offer. We would come back to 4 County in a heartbeat and hope to one day.
