Campground busy - but hiking amazing!

Wonderful location to sped a weekend vacation - When you reserve your spot you are not reserving your "space" They are handed out as first come first served upon arrival. Everyone is on concrete or gravel. There is no privacy between spots. Bathrooms are convenient and trails are easily accessed. On Saturday night on other side of dam the locals present a free bluegrass concert (we had a great time there) you can hear through the tree in the distance from the higher elevation sites one the south side of camp. There is a small playground there behind the bathroom as well.

Tons of activities, hiking is wonderful, with proper permit you can visit the gorge floor, Visitors center is very nice. Beach on lake side of dam not a far hike from campground. Another lookout location is just up the road.

South side of camp best due to the close location to Hwy 441 - traffic runs late into the night on weekends.
