Great little place!
We stumbled upon this little gem this spring break. Our campsite backs up to the lagoon and seems quite private! Bathrooms are super clean, pool is festive, and staff are awesome! Would definitely come back!

I recently had a wonderful experience at the St. Petersburg/Madeira Beach KOA Holiday, and I’m excited to share my positive review! I’ve hosted friends in their Deluxe Cabins before, and they were thoroughly impressed. The cabins were equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay—fresh linens, a full kitchen, and even a private patio with a grill and fire ring. And they had a great view of the lush mangrove lined Long Bayou.
They loved the blend of cozy and convenient, making their getaway truly enjoyable. At the end of the road driving out of this campground is a great restaurant called Doe Doe's that makes a delicious homestyle breakfast if you don't want to cook it yourself.
Wanting to be close to them I opted for one of the small tent sites at the end of the park where I car camped in my Subaru Outback. It was a peaceful and charming spot, perfect for a relaxing camping experience - and away from more of the centrally located activities that people camping with children enjoy.
Overall, the amenities were top-notch, including the heated outdoor pool, bike and kayak rentals, and clean and large facilities. They have something called KampK9 which is a fenced in dog park area. Less than a mile away is Bay Pines Park which is nice to jog or ride your bike through and there is also a super Walmart nearby so you can stock up for your drive to the next campground. You also have easy access to the Gulf Coast's stunning beaches and the scenic Pinellas Trail.
Driving on the main road, and seeing the somewhat industrial area you pass through on your way down the small side street to this campground, you wouldn't expect much - but this KOA has been there for decades and is one of the nicest family campgrounds in the middle of a city I have experienced.
We tent camped here for two nights. I really enjoyed our stay and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We stayed one of the premium tent sites, but unfortunately there is a very bright street light on all night right next to premium camping. The primitive campsites with no hookups are in a much more secluded area and not affected by lighting at night.
Other than that, everything else was great.

We stayed here for the July 4th weekend. Everyone was super friendly and patriotic.
Dislikes: there are a lot of full time RVers here. The pool area needs to be pressure washed. The “put-put” should be updated. The surrounding area looks like trash.
Likes: If you’re planning on staying here, you must visit John’s Pass. The view on the water is amazing. The front desk ladies are really nice. The area has a ton of things to do.

Nice, friendly campground. It has all of the amenities you would ever want and is so close to Florida beaches. Pool, hot tub, store, workout room, fishing and kayaking and lots more to do right in the park.
Awesome location, site was right off the water, with beautiful sunrises. The amenities were very nice, staff was great and had nice fishing pier. The grounds were under renovation, and new sites and cabins were gorgeous. Our site was older, but level. Some cracking on old slab, and dirty. Hook ups were ok, as was cable (not great, fuzzy). Wifi was non-existent. Close to everything in St. Pete

I have been a regular here for some time. It is definitely more glamping than anything but always a fun stay and the staff is always kind.
Everything you could ever need to be comfortable camping and easygoing including a convenience store to free wi-fi. There’s a massive pool and two hot tubs. One is fenced off in the back for adults only which can be nice when there are a lot of loud kids.
The sites are very well kept and have very nice views of the water way. A couple of the sites are not up against the water but you still get a nice look at it all.
If you’re traveling around, it would be a great place to stay and be comfortable. Walmart/Publix/Wawa all within a 10 minute drive. The beach is maybe 15 minutes away also.
There are two tent sites. One considered primitive because there is no water and electricity hook up but there’s a phone charging station at the site. 6 sites. Then there is 2 sites available with water and electricity in between a section on RVs by the waterfront.

Excellent amenities and great surrounding area
No streaming allowed over their Wi-Fi. To watch Netflix or use Roku, you’ll need your own hotspot.
Friendly staff and quite a few amenities. This campground is located in the very cramped area of Largo/St. Petersburg. Heavy traffic on the roads 24/7.
This is a very nice, albeit pricey KOA. RV sites are mostly level gravel or pavement depending on if you get a back-in or pull thru site. There are kayak and bike rentals available at the office, as well as a propane fill station. The pool area is very well kept and was busy every day of our stay. There is a bocce court and mini golf course, as well as a fenced dog walk where the pups can run off leash.

There seems to be two sides to this campground. One is the snowbird side, and the other is the campground side. If you are looking for a camping feel make sure you get the campground side. This KOA was just ok to me. It is in a good location to beaches, shopping and the walking path that goes thru town.
Planty of amenities, not far from the beach ( 10'driving distance). Good WiFI.
Don't stay at spots WD2,3,4,5,6 as they are very muddy if you are caught in a rainy season.
I will return to this campground because the Pinellas Bike Trail runs right in front and I can bike into St. Pete. I also like the kayak launch site on property. The bathrooms were very clean and daily trash pick up.
The only down side was the level of privacy but we ended up meeting some great people!

This will be a yearly stop for us. There’s lot of shade in most of the park, a great pool, two hot tubs and within 3 miles of a beach. Madeira Beach is easy to get to and the campground is right on a Bay Area so there’s kayaking, fishing, a boat dock.. pretty much everything you could ask for.

Quiet. Had a nice spot right on the water. Shower/bathhouse was large and clean. Employees were EVERYWHERE and willing to help. Nice pool and lots to do if you are inclined. Gravel site but lovely nick patio with table and chairs, swinging bench and fire pit.

This campground is in a good location near all the the things in the St. Petersburg area however it’s super crowded with most people staying long term. It was our first time staying at a campground like this and although it might be great for some people, this was not our vibe. Sites are smashed together and no privacy. Some sites back up to the mangroves which is nice but that’s about it. It was so busy and active it was somewhat stressful.

We love this place! Great sites on the Intercoastal & good interior sites as well. Bathrooms are modern & clean. Great heated pool & hot tubs. Staff is excellent. Lots of beaches & places to visit & explore nearby. We come back every January & it always feels like home!

Great inner city spot. Friendly staff and the grounds are bigger then expected. Full hook ups for RVs and separate tent area. Has a small shallow marina. Great for Kayaks, canoeing... etc. we did some fishing off the floating pier as well.
They have a heated pool, mini golf course, shuffle board, dog run. There are the typical bike rentals, four person bikes, that are found at most KOAs.
We rented. Cabin this time. They have different layouts and sizes. Pets are welcome on the grounds
Overall great place to getaway for a few days.

Agree with everyone else, way overpriced, close to road, very close together sites. The utilities were set up poorly and we struffled a bit with septic hookup. Showers were clean, laundry was good, fun pool and smal putt putt course. The staff was nice and were working on property. Wasn't bothered by full timers on other half of property. Lots of site options including a couple different cabin styles.

Did a family guys trip and had a blast. They have sooo much to do there. The pool and hot tub are great. The putt putt was cheap and fun. They have bocce and shuffle board. The staff were a lot of fun and nice. We stayed at one of their cabins and it was wonderful. The air conditioning was able to keep the cabin cold even in the summer months. Can’t wait to come back.

Stayed for Memorial Day weekend. Use KOA discount card and still a little over $100 a night. We were given wrist bands for pool and could only go during those times. Site was small, couldn’t even put awning out all the way because we were so close to next site. They escort you to site when you arrive. Our escort was super nice. The next guy to escort the next camper around was rude and told us to hurry up and unhook. We had no room to park truck until we unloaded kayaks out of back. Kayaked our from campsite kayak dock. Water nice. Puttputt golf and playground near pool. Was an ok stay but over priced for tiny site. Rates should be dependent upon site. Waterfront sites seemed much nicer and no guarantee on site you book.

Close to city, nice cabins, Sand volleyball court, pool, etc. Not many young people
Very friendly, helpful staff. This place was always clean and well maintained. Tent camped here for 11 days. Water access to the gulf for fishing crabbing claming kayaking etc. The pinellas county trail runs along side KOA and they rent bikes and fun little tricycles to ride the trail or use in campground. Itwas great. Plenty of trees to add shade. Nice clean pool and rec center. They even had a movie night at the pool. Cant wait to go back in my RV. Loved it here
Nice campsites, some on water. Boat ramp on site. Mini golf. Lovely pool
I stayed at the KOA for a spring break. It was very quaint. There is a fishing dock near where we stayed. Lots of catfish.
I live in the area but we decided to take our Motor Home over to the KOA for a few days. Site was nice. On the Mangroves with a peak at the water. Small pool and very small playground. Not a huge fan of KOA anyway. It is super close to Madeira Beach with only about a 5 minute drive.
Located on the water. Lots to do. Great for kids & pets.
