Best Cabin Camping near Immokalee, FL

Several campgrounds within driving distance of Immokalee, Florida provide furnished cabin rentals with varying amenities. Trail Lakes Campground in Ochopee offers rustic cabins and unique chickee huts with electricity, creating comfortable accommodations amid natural surroundings. According to one visitor, "There were some great cabins/huts that looked great. Hosts are welcoming and helpful." Fisheating Creek Campground in Palmdale features a floating cabin option along with standard cabin units, all with access to clean bathrooms and shower facilities. Naples/Marco Island KOA Holiday provides more upscale cabin camping with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and kitchenettes in some units. Most cabins include picnic tables outside, and many have fire rings for evening campfires.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location and price point. Trail Lakes Campground cabins offer a more secluded experience with excellent stargazing opportunities, as one guest noted: "Quiet area. Beautiful stars at night. Very friendly hosts and on-site services such as wood delivery at all times!" Pet policies vary by location, with many campgrounds like Bonita Lake RV Resort and La Belle Woods Resort allowing pets in select cabin units for an additional fee. Winter months (November through April) represent peak season when advance reservations are essential, sometimes requiring booking 6-11 months ahead. Summer availability improves but comes with higher humidity and mosquito activity. Most campgrounds operate year-round, though some reduce services during slower months.

Most cabin rentals provide beds with mattresses but require guests to bring their own linens, pillows, blankets, and towels. Kitchen facilities range from basic (microwave only) to fully equipped with refrigerators, stovetops, and cooking utensils. Fisheating Creek Campground's on-site store stocks ice, firewood, and basic groceries, while Trail Lakes Campground offers limited supplies at their front office. For more extensive grocery shopping, Naples (25-30 minutes from some locations) provides multiple supermarket options. Campers staying at cabins without full kitchens should bring coolers, portable cooking equipment, and easy-to-prepare meals. Bug spray is essential year-round, with extra importance during summer months when mosquitoes are most active.

    Trail Lakes Campground

    Great quiet spot to camp

Stayed here a night in February 2021. State parks aren’t yet allowing tents due to Covid. We camp in our truck so don’t fit the definition of “self contained” or tenters, so this spot was great. Water and electric or primitive sites available. There were some great cabins/huts that looked great, too. Hosts are welcoming and helpful. Firewood, ice and some supplies available on site. The sites were spacious and had room to spread out and not be on top of your neighbors. Picnic table and fire rings at each site. It was a full moon the night we stayed and the stars were still incredibly bright as there is very little light pollution. Sunset was beautiful. Some mosquitos at dusk, but not bad at all. (It was February- sure June would be different...) Plenty of trees for shade and hammocks. Two showers in both the men’s and women’s bathrooms. Showers were hot with good water pressure. Shower drains could have been better as the floors were wet throughout the whole bathhouse, unfortunately. (Only reason it’s not a 5-star review.) One bar service on Verizon, but typical for me in the area. We only stayed a night so didn’t take full advantage of kayaks and boats, but there is a lot to do. Campers have free admission to the Snake Ape and reptile exhibits- snake lovers will enjoy the snakes including one of the largest captive pythons in the world. We held a baby alligator and saw the adults up close. The caretaker was refreshingly knowledgeable and caring. Overall, a quick stop for us but we enjoyed it and would stay here again.

    Brighton RV Resort

    No Picnic Table

A new casino is being built beginning Summer 2023 with expected completion in 2025.  We were told the majority of the campsites and cabins will house the construction workers for the casino project.

    PROS

Prearrival text regarding checkin and checkin documents left at campground sign, but it had rained and documents were unreadable

Deon was very helpful upon arrival

    Security code for bathhouse entry

    Over 65 and veteran discount

    Site 312 concrete pad level

Site 312 paver patio surrounded by sand and weeds, but most sites had manicured grass.

    Nicely spaced sites.

Very clean bathhouse during the week.

5 washers and 5 dryers at $2 each in Park laundromat. Office sells quarters.

    Quiet.

    Saw Seminole police patrolling frequently

    TMobile 4 bars.

Park had WIFI but we did not connect.

    CONS

No security gate so LOTS of drive-bys

30amp breaker overheated and tripped 3 times during our 7 night stay

    Site 312 absolutely no shade

Not permitted to select site online when making reservations

Absolutely no bathhouse cleaning Saturday and Sunday so by Sunday evening it was pretty nasty

Price increase 8/1/22 that we had to pay even tho we made reservations during March 2022

Need to bring-your-own fire ring, but wasn't informed of this requirement until we arrived

No picnic table at site upon arrival. Notified camp office who advised one would be provided first thing next morning by park maintenance.

Day 2. No table. Stopped by camp office right before noon and reported no table delivered to site. Then the excuses started from Jodi, the park manager…only one maintenance man…picnic tables are disappearing overnight and that’s a problem…now have 3 sites that need a picnic table…staff believes other campers see a unoccupied site and drag table to their site…there were 63 tables when the season started… No mention of when picnic table will be delivered to site. We offered to help get it. Told maintenance man is working on it.

    Day 3. No table.

Day 4. Stopped by office at 9am for an update on when to expect a table. Spoke with Jodi again. She had no update. Same excuses as I heard on Day 2 but she did mention that NEXT YEAR she was going to need to anchor the tables at each site so they don’t disappear. I mentioned seeing 4 tables at the firepit area. She said we are welcomed to take a table from the community firepit area and move it to our campsite but those are needing replacement boards badly(her words).

Never got a table. Just too heavy for us to drag one from the firepit area to our site, which was a bit more than a half block and the maintenance man never delivered one.

Great spot, secluded in nature. Instantly felt peaceful and happy upon arrival. Excited to be here for 2 days!!

Update after the trip: loved this campground. Slept in my hammock for 2 days while my buddy was in the cabin. Quiet area. Beautiful stars at night. Very friendly hosts and on-site services such as wood delivery at all times!

    Fisheating Creek Campground

    A hidden gem!

We stayed in the RV side of the campground. Arrived at 745 literally before closing. Called the office ahead to let them know we are almost there , the staff was super nice. Checked in with no issues, staff even gave us an option to checkout another site if we liked more we can take it. We stayed at out booked site. It’s very dark no lights . I wish the sites were marked with a reflective tape. Very quite and chill atmosphere. This is not a party spot. Sites are pretty roomy and you are not on top of your neighbors. Each site comes with fire-rings, full hook up (rv sites), tent sites do not have hook ups and a picnic table. The river is so beautiful in the morning filled with fog. There’s a swimming depot in the park , looks like a man made lagoon. You can rent kayak/canoe and paddle on the river. A new add on was a food truck , looks like a good menu will try next time. There’s a small preserve with a Boardwalk to explore. There’s no pool or playground. This is a no frills campground but i love it because you can disconnect, relax and view wildlife. Reception here is actually amazing. 20 mins away in Labelle there’s a bomb brewery if you wanna explore a nearby town.

    Trail Lakes Campground

    Hidden Gem

We were so glad to find this place on The Dyrt. Once you check in, there is someone there to guide you to your site. You cannot reserve sites, you just request the amps needed for your rig. There are tent sites, cabins, and Chickee huts to rent as well. We were guided to a pull thru site. This was a first for us and we were thrilled. Our site was directly across from the bath house. We had no trouble leveling our trailer and getting set up. Fire pits are at every site and fires are encouraged. If you did not bring wood, there is some for sale. The bath house was adequate. It could be cleaner, but it is camping. The sites include water and electric. You are not able to pick up antennae TV unless you have high quality tall antennae. Radio stations came in just fine. At the front of the park is a little store with SkunkApe gear and an animal exhibit with gators, pythons and chickens. Skunkape is the equivalent of Sasquatch. Apparently, there is a legend of sitings in the Everglades. Kayak and canoe rentals are available as well as a swamp buggy ride. We brought our own kayaks and were told where to enjoy them. This campground is 15 minutes from Everglade City and 25 minutes from Collier-Seminole State Park.

    Trail Lakes Campground

    Great basecamp for Everglades Adventures!

I gave this campground 5 stars because it feels so different than the rest of the Campgrounds available in Big Cypress Reserve and Everglades National Park.

Trail Lakes is a proper campground which is staffed and gated just off of Hwy 41 (Alligator Alley) on the west side in Ochopee. It's open all year long.

For me, visiting in the off season, it felt nice to have the structure of the campground. Most of the other campgrounds I visited along 41 between Naples and Miami were completely empty of people, but full of signs warning campers of Panthers and alligators - and even bears. I had no idea Florida had bears. I didn't want to camp alone, so I loved that this campground had staff and a few other guests who might notice f I got eaten.

The campground is open all year long, and has a small store in the camp office.

The campground is built in several loops around a couple of lakes and has space for RV's and tents. If also offers cabins and some screened in open air huts (which I didn't stay in but they looked really cool). You could buy ice and firewood, as well as rent kayaks if you dared to boat through alligator swamps.

There's not much in Ochopee, so stock up when you leave Miaimi or Naples (depending which way you drive). There are a few things available at the campground store.  There is a mini post office in Ochopee which is worth stopping for a photo opp. The airboat tours which are everywhere along the highway here are definitely worth it.

You can get their latest pricing for all their sites and cabins at www.evergladescamping.net

    Chokoloskee RV Park

Great base for fishing and boating

There won't be much space between you and your neighbors, but let's be honest: if you're staying at this small island park, you're probably spending most of your time on the water. You can rent boat slips or launch a kayak; rent one if you don't have your own. Pick up your fishing supplies at the office. The historic Smallwood store is just a little farther down the road. There's 1 designated tent site, several RV sites, and a number of permanent residents. If you don't have your own RV, they have RVs and cabins for rent.

The park has bathrooms, a small playground, chickee for lounging outdoors, with a fire pit nearby, and  a pavilion for gathering with friends and family.

Explore the mangroves, take an airboat tour our of Everglades City, or explore other areas of the Everglades. Naples is your best shopping source. There are restaurants in Everglades City.

    Periwinkle Park

    Lovely Quaint Place

We were running close to the cut off for check in due to traffic. We called and the clerk waited for us to get there. We made it just under the wire. The sites were close together and a bit tight, but they are nice gravel for the rig and a concrete pad for your rug. Each site has a grill and picnic table. Fires are not permitted. The beach is a short bike ride away, but can be walked too. This place only takes cash or check and is kind of old school. But the prices are awesome for staying on Sanibel Island. There is a nice restaurant across the street from the park. There is an aviary in the campground. This place is also a trailer park with mobile homes super close to each other. Not many campsites available, so book early. The bath houses were nicely kept and no issues. The sites are all full hook up. We will be back again.
