Description
Flying A Group Camp is located within the Myakka State Forest (Sarasota County), about 1-hour south of Sarasota, FL. It features a single camping area available to a group of 10 or more visitors. There are no water or electric facilities available, but Port-O-Pots are provided in the picnic area. Recreational activities featured here are: fishing, picnicking, bird watching, wildlife viewing and hiking to name a few.
Although you may collect fire wood from the ground, do not cut or damage any trees. Firewood is also for sale at Camp Host and Ranger Station.
There is public hunting each year. Check MyFWC.com for more information.
Be prepared to store your food from forest residents (raccoons, etc)

Take Exit 191 off of I75. Go south toward Englewood for 9.5 miles, the forest entrance is on the left. Upon entering the forest, continue on for .6 miles and the campground will be on the right.
