Kelly Rock Springs Campground, near Apopka, Florida, is a fantastic spot for families and nature lovers alike. With its close proximity to the stunning Rock Springs, you can dive right into swimming, snorkeling, and tubing, making it a perfect summer getaway.

The 255-acre Kelly Park camping was donated by Dr. Howard A. Kelly in 1927 for use as a public park,
 wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary. Located within the park, Rock Springs—a natural freeflowing spring—travels nine miles to the Wekiva River. The spring maintains an average flow
 of 26,000 gallons per minute with a constant 68 degree temperature. Enjoy swimming, hiking
 and picnicking during your stay.

 Kelly Park has 26 RV/tent sites.

  Camp sites have a picnic table, fire ring with grill and water access.

  All sites have electric access.

  The Kelly Park entrance and dump fees are included in the per night camping charge (up
 to 6 campers).

  Two campsites can be rented per family unit; an individual can register only for one site.

The Best Camping Near Frostproof, Florida

Very inexpensive only 17.00 because we are senior citizens. Nice big sites with concrete patios with picnic tables. Walking distance to a huge playground over near the spring. It it’s crowded so they lock the gate when it’s full. But the campers use another gate passed the main gate when full. The kids loved it. You can bring your own tube for tubing or rent one outside of park at end of road.

Very nice but the spring gets crowded 

I was here during the winter so the park was quiet, I’ve heard it can be very busy in the summer. The campsites are big, with tree cover and provide fire rings. Rock Springs is in Kelly Park so you can walk there. We did an 8 mile paddle down to Wekiva Island, which was really relaxing.

Beautiful park

Beautiful place for floating down the spring. Enjoy drifting over river pebbles at the clear bottom of the spring. Tubes can be rented right outside of park. Often busy and loud but the spring serenity makes it worth it.

Enjoyed floating down the spring and riding our bikes around the park! The bathrooms were clean. The campsites were nice and spacious for our tent!

Unfortunately the springs were closed due to COVID, but Wekiwa Springs is down the road so we were able to check that out!

No pets allowed either which is another downside 

Well-kept and maintained, friendly staff, and nice restrooms. 

Not a lot of space between campsites - you won’t get that “primitive” camping feel, but the site is a decent size

We stayed here in November 2019 for 2 days. Although the weather is unpredictable in Florida we had the best fall weather and we were able to enjoy the springs. Please note this is not a campground only but a public county park and has daily visitors plus people who are staying in the campgrounds. We tried to spend the day here in the summer but the park closed early because It gets overcrowded with tourist since is very close to the Orlando area. When we had the oportunity to stay in November we were able to really enjoy the facilities since the park was empty.  The small Springs river that goes through the park is very relaxing and great for tubing. The waters are usually about 67-70 degrees so it can be cold in the fall. The waters are spectacular and super clear. They have several hiking paths that are shaded and nice.  The campgrounds are covered with trees keeping them nice and cool.  This is one of my favorites campsites in central Florida.

Such a great place for families to camp!! The campground is nice and has bathrooms and showers, plus being able to go to the springs is so much fun and beautiful!! Saw deer at night in our campsite #3 we had a double tent site .. beautiful weather.. Springs of course were cold
