Reservation consideration
I can't speak for the park itself being that I didn't have the opportunity to stay there. My review is for my breakdown situation and trying to cancel it. Traveling to Cody Wy, my airstream axle broke and I barely made it to Cody. I took it into a rv repair shop and it was established that I needed a new one. They were 3 to 8 weeks ordering time so I am still currently stranded in Cody. The first thing I did was call the five reservations that I had made to cancel them. All but Mountaindale honored it even with similar cancelation policies. My breakdown happened on a Tuesday and my reservation was for the following Sunday. I emailed Mountaindale the rv shop name and phone number where the rv was for verification. As devastating as this is, this added insult to injury to an already bad situation. I get it that policy is policy but also the owner has no sympathy for people's misfortunes. Again, the other four reservations(KOA, another Campspot affiliated and two others) canceled and gave me full refunds.(Like any compassionate company would do)
We appreciate your honest review. I am sorry that your threats of leaving a 1 star review did not give the outcome you were hoping for. I can speak with confidence when I say that our staff was very sympathetic with your situation, but when you cancel only 3 or 4 days before your arrival date, we lose the ability to resell the site. While others were able to disregard their cancelation policy, we were not able to.
The only true unfairness I see here is that you knowingly left a poor review on a small, family owned business when they were following their clearly written policy, one which you personally agreed to.
