Amazing!
By far my favorite campground in Colorado. Sites all have great views and are paved. The park is clean and rangers are always around checking in. Close to town and great hikes. Can’t wait to go back!

No dogs allowed on trails. They are allowed in the campsite, and on the roads, but that’s it. The campsites have shade and space, and there are beautiful trails for hiking and mountain biking, but the no dogs is a line for us.
We don't have little ones anymore, but there was a huge playground that would be a bonus for those who do.
A lot of miles of hiking/ biking trails. Rv camp sites are close together, but well maintained. I'll be back.
Our family of 5.5 (I’m 20 wks pregnant) tent camped at site 065 at Prospectors Ridge . It is the furthest walk in site but the view IS AMAZING. About 350 yds to walk so keep that in mind when hauling in stuff. The vault toilets are at the parking lot and clean and there is water there too. A short walk from the parking lot, there is a nice playground, washing machines, showers, bathrooms, water jug filling stations, vending machines. There is a change machine there too Bc you need quarters for showers and using the washer and dryers. The days are hot at this time and the nights are cool. There are large bear boxes for use. There was a nice man driving a gator around offering firewood every night but we had some. Camp sites are a little close but still private . Several short (1 mile ish) hikes at this park and a nice visitor center! We would go again! I’m not sure we’d chose the last site but the view was unbeatable.
This is a really large campground for a state site, the weekend we visited it was full with no available sites. It should be noted that this campground does not allow for day use, only overnight camping. There are many trailhead from the campground and lots of families and kids but many of the trails do not allow for dogs, so be aware of that as well. It does offer many amenities like a dump station and playgrounds. We will come back later in the fall and hopefully it will be less busy. We like the quiet outdoors so this was a little busy for us.
Beautiful place to camp with electric hookups. My kids loved playing at the playground and exploring the nearby national monument of Florissant Fossil Beds. Was very chilly at night when we went in June.
too close to colorado springs. works a a early season test trip but it to close too the front range so always overcrowded. bonus: go to cripple creek opposed to a campfire.
Mueller State Park is a great location, close to Colorado Springs and far away enough to have that quiet camping experience. There were amazing views of Pikes Peak and so many camping spots. We had a group of us, so we found two camping spots together and across the road from vault toilets. The 5 kids in our group had a great time and I was impressed with how clean the campsites were kept. I would highly recommend camping at Mueller State Park and would love to return for another camping experience.
Some friends and I camped here in early October. It got a bit chilly at night, two layers, smartwool socks, a Carhart beanie, sleeping pad plus a medium temp sleeping bag kept me semi warm in our tent. The hikes we went on were beautiful and the restrooms were clean and close to our site. Because it was a last minute reservation we ended up in the RV section of the campsite so it was a little nosier than neccessary. We saw the park ranger ride through about every half hour to hour during our weekend stay. I would defintely stay there again!
Fabulous visit. we came into the park last minute. Stayed during the week but knew the weekend would be fully booked. The morning on that Friday we packed up and asked the ranger, they had a cancellation and we got to stay the weekend!
Nice and very clean.
Beautiful State Park with great facilities and very helpful personnel. $7/daily fee...park is up on a ridge at almost 10,000 ft just west of Pikes Peak. Lots of trees...Aspens and Spruce. Campsites were almost all ideal and many have electrical hookups. There are also some walkup tent sites. Clean vault toilets and many water spigots and bear proof trash cans. There was also a centrally located bldg with flush toilets and a sink to wash dishes. Also a building with coin operated showers and laundry area...all very clean and relatively new. We enjoyed hiking on several of the many trails. The rangers have presentations most nights...bears, beavers, etc. Lots of families with kids...also a playground. We went on a guided bird watching walk one morning...fun experience. The campsites book up months in advance but we lucked out finding a terrific site about a week out (from a cancellation on reserveamerica.com) The campground was fully booked but was still peaceful and quiet. We'll definitely return!
Beautiful campground. Not a bad site in the whole park. Very clean and good space between sites. We stayed in a 26' travel trailer. Electric hookups available. Sites are all paved back-in or pull thru and pretty level. Great level gravel areas to pitch tent as well at each site. This is bear country. No bear boxes available, so bring your own or lock in car. Great hiking trails of all abilities. Great visitor center. Fishing only available w/ .5-2.5 mile hike into back country. Close to lots of activities in Cripple Creek Woodland Park etc.
Mueller is a wonderful state park. Loads of hiking with lots of abandoned home sites. The facilities are top notch. We haven’t been at a bad campsite yet.
Great location within Colorado's Mueller State Park. Easy access to trails, visitor center, and scenic drives. Nice large site with level gravel tent pad, large table, and nice fire pit. Nearby sites seemed to be a good distance away.
This was a last minute decision to try this campground - but it was a GREAT decision! Amazing views - and we were only about 1/2 way up (the rest was not open yet). Showed up after hours - so, got to drive around and pick the one we liked the best (protected from wind & close to the pit toilets). Got down to 28 degrees - so, we ate breakfast inside the camper-van. Will definitely chose to stay there again in the future!
The campsites themselves are great! However, don’t expect your dog to be able to enjoy nature with you. Dogs aren’t allowed on ANY trails or in the back country.
This is one of the gems in Colorado. Great well taken care of campground with electrical hook ups and gorgeous grounds. All sites looked well taken care of. Had a great time.
One of the best State Parks for fall foliage! A huge criss-cross of trails to choose from with Pikes Peak views, yellow aspen, wildlife. We’ve only done the walk-in campgrounds (there are also backpacking sites), all of them were nice and simple, clean and quiet. They provide bear boxes but we’ve never seen any here. Worth the drive from Denver. If you’re into fossils and natural history, check out the Florissant Fossil Beds National Park while you’re in the area (petrified redwoods).
We camped for several nights in our Airstream, and our family camped at a tent site close by. The campground itself it beautiful. You cannot imagine the scenery that this campground gives you. It is quiet, with beautiful trails for hiking.
Nice little campground. Lots of trails around nice combos of forrest and fields, we even saw some elk.
We try to hit up the state parks as well as the national ones and I'm glad we stayed here. Lush trees surround the campground with ample trail to hike/bike. If we were to stay here again I would fork out the money for a cabin because we saw two black bears and I kept imagining them batting away at our tent with every sound I heard at night. Overall a great experiencr.
Mueller is a great state park. Well maintained, clean, beautiful scenery with an abundance of hiking trails. Plenty of wildlife for those who enjoy seeing them in the wild. I have witnessed deer, bear, elk and coyotes all while hiking their trails. The campground is well laid out with spacious sites. The real gem of this park is the walk in tent sites. You may not even realize that there are other people around.
