Awesome Park!

Beautiful State Park with great facilities and very helpful personnel. $7/daily fee…park is up on a ridge at almost 10,000 ft just west of Pikes Peak. Lots of trees…Aspens and Spruce. Campsites were almost all ideal and many have electrical hookups. There are also some walkup tent sites. Clean vault toilets and many water spigots and bear proof trash cans. There was also a centrally located bldg with flush toilets and a sink to wash dishes. Also a building with coin operated showers and laundry area…all very clean and relatively new. We enjoyed hiking on several of the many trails. The rangers have presentations most nights…bears, beavers, etc. Lots of families with kids…also a playground. We went on a guided bird watching walk one morning…fun experience. The campsites book up months in advance but we lucked out finding a terrific site about a week out (from a cancellation on reserveamerica.com) The campground was fully booked but was still peaceful and quiet. We'll definitely return!
