Scenic campground on the Avenue of Giants!

I cannot fully describe how beautiful this campground is. Sleeping amung the gorgeous trees was so peaceful. Great bathrooms as well!

This was not a crowded campground and several sites were blocked off to give more space with Covid-19, which gave a buffer between neighbors. A pretty equal mix of campers and tents and it’s a fairly quiet campground with fewer families. People are just chill and enjoying the gorgeous redwood trees. Trails are right across the street from the campground, so easy access to explore the park. Firewood is expensive at $8/bundle, but the fit pits are nice and contained.

Great campsite directly next to the visitor center on the Avenue of Giants. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Campsite 049Bu - was big but had little privacy from the sites right next to us.

Probably my favorite campground due to the ingenious ancient trees surrounding the entire area. Plenty of hiking super close to the campground. We visited in Winter and had nearly the entire place to ourselves. Quiet and peaceful, perfect for the entire family. Highly recommend and would stay here again

My partner and I stayed at the Burlington campground in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in March and could not have had a better experience. We were able to get a first come first serve site without much difficulty (we were very concerned about this as we were driving up from San Francisco). Our site was nestled amongst historic, giant redwoods in the heart of the avenue of giants. The site its self was clean and came with a fire pit, picnic table, and bear locker. Staff was helpful and accommodating. There are several breathtaking trails that connect to the campground and others close by car. We can't wait to go back!

Went in April of 2018, very quiet campground. Nestled near many activities such as hiking and fishing on the eel. Short drive to grocery stores or Lost Coast Brewery in Eureka.

Omgosh, I can't enough about this campground! The actual campsite was huge! It was beautiful, nicest camp host/rangers, gigantic trees all around, dogs, families, handicap sites, clean bathrooms with hot water, big visitor center, daily planned activities, so many great hiking trails, and the best part is: COFFEE at the visitor center! You don't have to brew your own! It's not Starbucks, but if I can get my coffee, a couple of granola bars and get going in the morning without taking out a cooking utensil, it's a world of diffence. It's one of the nicest campgrounds we've been to, and we love camping, so there's many to compare to. I actually locked my keys in my car and the ranger drove me from the trail head back to the campground to get in touch with AAA and took my husband and my daughter to get her hiking badge while I waited to someone to help get my keys out. That's what I call service! I have to go back! So worth it, it's a must.. :-)

The Avenue of the Giants is one of my favorite places in the whole world. Burlington camp ground is basically right in the middle. It's right next to the ranger station/visitor center and just a few minutes away from Miranda, where you can pick up some last minute supplies. The biggest problem I have with this campground is that it's situated right next to the main road, so there a lot of traffic moving through. It's a slow speed limit, so it's not super loud or anything, but it does break the serenity a bit. The rangers are very knowledgeable, which is great if you're looking for things to do/places to see on you're trip. If you forget your firewood, you can pick some up at the ranger station. Each site is provided with a fire pit and bear box. You definitly want to use the near boxes, it's not uncommon to spot a bear while in the Avenue.

Dark forest covered campsites with some privacy. We usually camp off season and this has kept campsites on the quiet side at night.

this is a large campground with large sites. We had three tents and a car and still had space. Conveniently located in the Redwoods. Nice river stream is across the road. Rangers at information center a must to visit! Has showers but bring quarters. Facility was very clean

Gorgeous campground in the Redwoods. We have stayed here twice. Once in March and once in July. The shade from the redwoods makes this a cool haven from the hot California summers. Campsites are mostly shaded. Campsites are large with good fire pits and picnic tables. Lots of redwood stumps for the kids to play on. If you plan to hang your hammock, bring extra rope as the trees are SO BIG that regular hammock ropes won't reach around the trees. Spent several afternoons reading in the shade of the redwoods in our hammock with a blanket on top of us. Even the 13-year-old boy fell asleep reading in the hammock. Short walk to a beautiful swimming hole when the sun warmed things up in the afternoon. The closest store is okay for snacks and essentials but not much else. No real restaurants nearby. Be sure to have your cooler fully packed and bring your meals with you. Clean restrooms with coin operated hot showers. Water spigots close by to campsites.

Stopped here twice once on the way down doing the PCH and once on the way back up both in May mid week. The first way down we got a site that backed up to Ave of the Gods which was not as noisy as one would expect it was peaceful. Nice bathrooms and a fun little exploration to the river. The way back we we spotted a camp site we wanted so traded the reservation for a non-reservable site. #14 in Burlington has a burnt out redwood you can actually put your tent inside of which was incredible. Would stay here again and again, maybe try a different loop.

There is something truly humbling camping under such big trees. This camp site was beautiful. We were in site 9 and it felt pretty private because it was up further from the two neighboring sites. Downsides are that it was across from the bathroom (I was traveling with a 1 and 2 year old so that was done on purpose) so it was car traffic from people too lazy to walk there. I didn't expect that. I'm also a tent camper and tents are mixed in with rv's so you get the rv buzz to until generator shut off time. The bathrooms were nice running water and flush toilets. Showers are pay showers too. Half the campground was closed when we went for renovations so it was not as busy as it probably usually is. The highway was close so you could hear some car noise but it wasn't as bad as the other reviews have implied. Nice amphitheater and trails around the site!

This park is beyond beautiful to stay in. Camping was average, but the scenery was worth less than ideal camping conditions such as sites not being very private, close proximity to the road, and lots of people around. Campground was filled with families which is great for people with children!

A short drive will take you to some really great trails in the area. Campground is really close to the road so it's convenient but not so great if you're trying to get away. Not very crowded and mostly families getting away for the weekend. They have showers (which stayed cold) and flush toilets which was nice. If I would have known it was so family oriented I probably would have found another site.

Couldn't be much better located geographically, with several nearby, glorious hikes and other Redwoods areas all up and down Hwy. 101. Friendly, large, volunteer-run info. center to help answer questions, guide you to the best hikes and serve you free coffee. We were at site 25, close to the traffic from Avenue of the Giants, and you can hear highway traffic in the background. Not a ton of space between sites either. But still, this is a good campground for non-sensitive, non-beginner campers.
