Canyon Creek runs alongside Ripstein Campground, offering mid-60s water temperatures that provide relief during hot summer days when temperatures reach the high 90s. The US Forest Service maintains eight sites here within Trinity National Forest, with four accessible by car and four requiring short walks of 10-15 yards from parking areas. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, with several featuring bear boxes.
The campground sits about a mile from Trinity Alps trailhead parking and sees surprisingly light use even during peak summer months. A single pit toilet building serves all campers, and trash and recycling receptacles are provided. Verizon and T-Mobile users should expect no cell service. For those exploring broader camping near Trinity National Forest, this spot serves as a gateway to alpine wilderness access.
