 Lost Bridge South Campground sits along the vast shores of Beaver Lake in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas, offering spacious and sunny campsites and an abundance of recreational activities. 
## Recreation

 Fishing opportunities are plentiful near Lost Bridge South Campground. Beaver Lake has more than 28,000 surface acres of water, and anglers can try their luck at catching large and small-mouth bass, crappie, bream, white bass, stripers, and channel or spoon-bill catfish. Just below the dam, the cold waters of the upper White River provide the perfect habitat for pole-bending rainbow and record-sized German brown trout. Several trails snake throughout the Ozark Mountains, offering peaceful hiking, biking and wildlife viewing opportunities for visitors. Hunters will find game plentiful in northwest Arkansas. A mixture of hardwood and evergreen forest provides a good home to many different species of wildlife. While Beaver Lake is conveniently located near several population centers, within a short driving distance hunters can find remote areas filled with upland game such as deer, rabbits and squirrels. Many other sports and activities await campers, including boating, swimming, picnicking, scuba diving, water skiing, spelunking and sightseeing.

Beaver Lake and Dam, completed in 1966, was constructed in the White River Basin and boasts 449 miles of beautiful shoreline at the top of the conservation pool. Although the dam was originally built for flood control, hydroelectric power and public water supply, it has also created a popular recreational oasis.

The Best Camping Near Gateway, Arkansas

I really like Lost Bridge South and Lost Bridge North. They are on the banks of Beaver Lake and are beautiful. The only downside is both campgrounds are built on the slopes of a hill. The RV and camper pads are level with asphalt, but to pitch a tent can be a bit tricky to find level ground.

Personally I do not like pitching my tent on concrete or rock pads, I prefer good old grass and dirt. Both my tent and my back last a little bit longer when on soft ground versus rocks.

The facilities were clean nice. The showers and bathrooms were pretty good. The only problem was there were no soap dispensers, so bring your own if you like clean hands.

This is a solid four star campground. I highly recommend getting a campsite next to the lake. We had a lot of fun with some great views.

Stay at South Bridge for Lakeside camping and beautiful scenerey

Great place to go camping . The mountains and the lake views are beautiful . The restrooms and showers for very clean . If you are all about fishing this is the place for you . While we was there we went to the Reenactment between the North and the South for Pea Ridge Battle and believe me if you have not been to one it is a day to step back in time .

Great camp sites!

The campsite had lots of room and we could even park our truck and boat by our camper. the boat ramp was very close and nice. Cool walking trail as well. the dump station is up the road and kind of hard to get in.

One of the better sites on Beaver Lake with a small number of sites, the access to the water is easy and the sites are fair sized.  It is on the better end of the lake where the water is clearer and better for activities.. always a fun place to stay.. always busy though, so plan ahead. This campground is close to Starkey, Castle Cove, Hogscald Cove, Penitentiary Cove falls and Beaver Dam.

Nice small camp site

This was my family’s inaugural backpacking adventure so it was short but fun! The hiking trail is roughly six miles from start to finish which was perfect for my 7 and 10 year olds who are growing more accustomed to carrying a pack. There are three primitive camp sites on the back side of the trail near the homestead and one on the water just before the trail turns to climb up the hillside. 

I recommend hiking the trail backwards of the guide maps so that you finish with the lake view instead of start with it. 

Easy fun hike through the Ozarks

Nice campground with bathroom facilities. Boat launch is in good condition. It is usually very busy, especially March-October.

We loved it here! Had camper on one site and tent on another, no complaints either way. Water is clear and beautiful, if you’re bank fishing it was mostly perch in June (don’t know about other times) and swimming was nice. Sites are nice size and most are shaded with quite a few on water and I believe you can see water from every site. 

Great place to camp

Some weekdays is very quiet. Nonflushing toilets are full and camp pads are gravel. Sometimes the electric boxes don't work for tents. But it's a very sweet place if you choose the higher numbers. Only 42 Almost and 46 the sweet spot can see the lake. You can drive to lakefront free. The walk is awkward dangerous. Maybe wild pigs but probably coons...were nice to the cats...who are supposed to be on a leash but aren't. 

Friendly quiet swimming

All spots are large. Most water sites are amazing. Wild life all around. Easy in and out boating.
