Beautiful campground
We have been coming here for years! Very clean, well maintained, and HUGE sites. We come down every year to go to the Crystal mines. And THIS year we watched the total eclipse as well!!

Only problem is some sites are hard to get to. We had 42C and it would have been tricky to back into it. The ranger on site switched our location to 33B and all is well. Other than that it's a nice little park. Not crowded, plenty of trees, near the lake. Recommended . ATT reception ok on 5G, 2 bars, could stream Netflix.
This was our 3rd time here and I’m pretty sure we will come back every year!! We stayed in a different loop than we normally do, and it is now our favorite! The site is HUGE!! You can’t hardly even see your neighbors. The lake view is stunning, and this site had access to get down to the lake for fishing. It might be a little hard to get a big trailer into, but we have a popup, and it was no problem at all! Very shaded and the bathrooms are nice and clean. I can’t wait to come back!!
We had a great time with our 2 and 4 year old. The swim beach was nice and we found a shady spot. Our site was spectacular. Easily the best in the campgrounds. The scenery was amazing! We went in mid-September and there were no annoying bugs. Just idyllic if a touch hot. Thoroughly enjoyed and the showers were hot.
Super nice camp ground with rv and tent spots that have tent pads built for them. Easy access to water and clean bathrooms. Park rangers are friendly folk. Lots of crystal hunting in the area. Water is nice a cool. From this campground you can easily launch a kayak or canoe. But there is a boat ramp on the side of the camp ground probably a 5 minute drive or less.
Very nice park, electric and water hook-ups. It's a typical COE (Corps of Engineers) campground and if you have the senior pass, it's extremely affordable! I took off one star because this site, while located right on the water, is very unlevel. Also, the pad is narrow and higher than the surrounding ground so you have to take care not to fall on that last step out the door!
The campground is nicely layout, but site #46 is tent only and a little postage stamp of a site with no privacy.
Denby was one of our favorites. In early March it was really quite. Lakefront site with incredible sunsets. The facilities were clean and more than adequate. I was able to launch my SUP within a short walk to the boat launch. Great place to ride bikes. There is a decent hike to the neighboring campground. We saw tons of deer everyday in the campground.
This was our 2nd time camping here. Huge sites and we were right up from the lake. Swimming AND fishing. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was because it needed mowing. LOL But it was quiet and NOT crowded at all, and we went in July when it should have been crowded. We definitely will come back!
Sunsets and views of the stars are amazing from this campsite on the lake. Bathrooms were well cleaned despite a weird smell that smelt of cleaner and dead bugs combined. The site is well maintained and the views are so worth the weird bathroom smell.
Stayed over Thanksgiving weekend and had a really nice time! If you want to be out in the middle of nowhere, this is the place for you. After Sunday morning, most people cleared out, leaving the whole loop to us for Mon/Tue. There are multiple nice RV sites with access to small beaches as well as tent sites on small peninsulas. Bathrooms were clean, warm, had good showers and dish sinks. Our site had 50, 30 and 20 amp electric as well as a frost hydrant with decent water pressure. Phone service was OK on AT&T, Sprint was 'roaming' and pretty slow. No sewer hookup, but between the multiple bathhouses and dump station, we were ok. Arrived in the evening, did self check in and rangers came by the next day to verify. Hosts were friendly and made sure we were all set up for freezing temperatures and/or making sure we didn't break the spigot. Dog friendly!
Great forest setting and if you are lucky you can get a spot overlooking the lake. Close to Hot Springs trails and city life but even closer to the IMBA epic trails in the area.
Can't seem to correct rating--should be 5 stars
We had a beautiful lakeview campsite in this well laid out COE park, number 46. It was one of the most difficult sites to back in we have ever had. Without help from a friendly neighbor we could not have made it. I do not mean this in a negative way. It was worth the effort. On a return trip I would select another site but we had a great view of the lake from this site. There are at least three separate areas for camping and all are laid out with plenty of space between.
Beautiful parks. Very nice staff. We stayed in the group area (B) for 4 nights. Secluded from the crowds with nice clean bathrooms. If I’m being nit-picky, the only criticism I have is that the groups sites don’t have a shower adjacent.
Really enjoyed how peaceful this site is. We booked late but were able to find a great spot with lots of trees surrounding us, spread out, and a lake view. Not able to put our kayaks in the water from our campsite, but just a short drive to the marina. And we do wish there were some trails closer by. But overall, very peaceful and beautiful campsite. We had a great time!
Stayed in October, so not busy, level sites w elec n water, dump station n dumpsters in park. Access Park Pass Honored so discount given. Verizon worked for wifi most of the time, stayed 2 nights.
Stayed on #30. Located right across from the swim beach. While it rained several days, the site did have a paved pad, electricity and water. Normal cost is $22 a night but with National Parks Senior Pass the cost was only $11 per night! What a deal! Only negative was grass needed mowing!
This is one of the cleanest campgrounds I have visited. It has shower facilities with hot running water that are handicap accessible. The grounds themselves have always been litter free. Each of the designated camp sites come with electric for rv hookups. This campsite has a lake access with a swimming area and a Sandy Beach. There is also plenty of room for fishing and boating. This has been a yearly visit for me and my daughter.
