      Paria River Ranch

great & peaceful spot near The Wave & more

We snagged a last minute spot here and its a lovely place with great hosts. Primarily a horse camp--for people to camp with their horses to ride in the nearby canyons--we grabbed an electric hookup campsite for $50. Perfect for us to go see The Wave the next morning and leave our trailer vs bringing it down the unpaved road.

      Paria River Ranch

Horse Ranch in the middle of BLM land

**IMPORTANT** Stays at this private ranch are BY RESERVATION only and for people with horses or who've booked a guided trail ride with the ranch**

We booked a private guided horseback ride with the ranch and stayed here in our trailer for five days. Our stay was incredible: quiet, peaceful, and amidst the backdrop of beautiful Utah BLM land. Our guided 2-hour ride in the nearby slot canyon was fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend riding with the amazing team at the ranch.

We had 30 amp electric and water hookups, though some sites are just electric. The dump site may or may not be in service, ask before booking.

The restrooms and showers onsite are immaculate. Very clean, new, and well designed.

*Again, this is a private ranch first, not an RV campground. Stays here require a reservation. The owner dislikes people just driving onto the property. Call ahead.

      Paria River Ranch

      Incredible place

We were traveling through and needed a place for the night. We pulled up to a spot where we could use the bunkhouse porch. The views from this ranch are amazing. The bathhouse was really cool—very creative. In fact, everything about this place is creative.

The work the owner is doing here by rescuing horses, donkeys, and goats is so important. Anything we can do to help her cause, we should absolutely.

      Rock Springs Bench

Great Views of KodaChrome Basin but sketchy access

We've camped here several times during the spring, summer and fall in our 26 foot toyhauler.  Gets pretty hot in the heat of the summer but great in the shoulder seasons.  Dirt access road that can get impassable when it rains (and believe them when they say impassable!).  Not a lot of dispersed camp sites, maybe 6 or 7 in this immediate area.. if you drive down the road toward Lake Powell (Highway 389).. there are more places to camp, but the road can get washed out or blocked by falling rocks along the way, so be prepared to turn around and head back towards Cannonville.

      Rock Springs Bench

      Great views

The road in was very good in my opinion. Looks like it could close in severe weather. We were 5 minutes from Kodiochome State Park entrance. We have a 36' 5th wheel and found a great spot that we could pull around and stay hooked up. Level side to side was good at the lower part of the spot. W Fire pit was nice. Several other spots looked good for smaller rigs. Great location.

      Kitchen Corral Wash Dispersed Site

      So quiet and beautiful!

Stayed for 2 nights with our 25’ trailer. Dirt road was fine! No one else was there! So amazing to have a cup of coffee and view the beautiful landscape. Short driving distance to Buckskin Canyon.
No problem with our Verizon phones.

      Paria River Ranch

Awesome location between Page and Kanab

First off, no service (food, gas) within 25 miles, BUT I rented here for three days and the spot was perfect for nearby hiking trails (wire pass, toadstool hoodoos, buckskins gulch). Bathrooms were very nice, rest of the property under renovation.

      Kitchen Corral Wash Dispersed Site

      Beautiful area

Optd to camp out here for the night. Was about 3 miles back off HW 89. Super peaceful area. Was able to pull my 22ft TT with my Ram 1500 just fine on the way to the spot. You could probably get up to a 30ft TT or RV back there. There were a lot of spots available, just need to continue driving back

Located about 3 miles from Highway 89, this area provides suitable terrain for horses and trailers. Christian M. reports, "Super peaceful area. Proximity to riding trails: The area's established and dispersed camping options provide strategic positioning for horseback riders. Ben S. notes about Forest Road 248: "We loved the forest feel and the trail riding as we typically come with ATVs. There is a gas station 5 minutes from the site."

    What you should know

Weather considerations: Rock Springs Bench and similar areas experience extreme seasonal variations. Jeff R. advises, "Gets pretty hot in the heat of the summer but great in the shoulder seasons."

Road conditions: Many dispersed camping areas have access roads that become impassable during rain events. Jeff R. cautions about Rock Springs Bench: "Dirt access road that can get impassable when it rains (and believe them when they say impassable!). Not a lot of dispersed camp sites, maybe 6 or 7 in this immediate area."

    Tips from RVers

Trailer access considerations: Antelope Hogan Bed and Breakfast, LLC provides accommodation options for visitors with horse trailers. Richardson E. notes, "The property is exclusive and off the grid," making it suitable for those seeking a private experience with horses.

Road difficulty ratings: Jim provides practical guidance for Kitchen Corral Wash: "1/2 mile of hwy 89, first right turn. First spot is as soon as you turn in on your right side. Big enough for van. Next spot is bigger for rv. Didn't go up hill... If you go any farther you will have trouble turning around when wet if not 4x4."

Size limitations: For larger horse trailers and RVs, carefully research access before arrival. Tamara S. confirms Kitchen Corral Wash can accommodate mid-sized rigs: "Stayed for 2 nights with our 25' trailer. Dirt road was fine!"
