    Clean, Patriotic, Friendly

Called day of and was able to reserve a 30AMP spot with full hook ups $39. As other reviews mentioned it is exceptionally clean, there is pride in ownership and America with a life size carved memorial to the armed services. Great play area for kids, giant chess and a pool (closed due to Covid). They were selling homemade pie and pulled pork sandwiches at check in also which was a fun surprise. A few cute log cabins to rent also. All gravel and not a lot of trees, no view but a clean and safe overnight for sure!

    Excellent Campground with Unexpected Amenities

When driving through Gallup, one doesn't expect to find such a great place to land on Route 66. On the surface it may appear to be a great over-nighter location - which it is! Level pull-through sites with a picnic table.  But it's so much more than that. First the business seems to be comprised of  family-owned and operated. They have excellent amenities including a lovely pool and playground area. Their shop is absolutely GREAT. The laundry area, showers, dish-washing area and other services are excellent.  Sites include electric, water and a picnic table. A dump station is positioned right by the exit. We had an unexpected delay for four days due to a medical situation, and they recommended a doctor who helped immensely, and they worked with us day to day to keep us in our spot as needed. Highly recommend this RV Park! Great folks!

    Dirt Sites with Some Amenities

Not much here to write home about, but this park does offer a small, enclosed dog park, pool, a small grocery in their office building, and a “cookout” concession stand like you would find at a theme park or stadium. Their stage was being used to display a patriotic homage to the US military. No pets allowed in the amenities area. Room for improvement would be adding trees and cactus appropriate to this climate to beautify the park, because it’s pretty barren. Staff did not wear masks indoors during the rising Covid pandemic.

    USA RV Park

    Clean, organized, and reasonably priced

Needed an overnight stay along Interstate 40 in New Mexico.  Check-in was quick and easy, the sites are arranged so that RV doors are not facing the neighbor's sewage pipe, which is something I always appreciate.  Most of the sites are pull-through.  The park is well laid out and covered with an attractive reddish-brown gravel.  The facilities were clean, the staff was pleasant.  The park felt safe though the neighborhood around it is economically distressed.  The park is family friendly; there is a dog-park, a nice pool, and attractive common area near the office with tables and statuary with a cute bear theme.  The only negatives are not under the control of the park: trains pass by frequently day and night, and in the evening the mosquitos are voracious.  My wife and I agree that we would return here.

    USA RV Park

    10/10

My husband and I were skeptical to stay at such an uber patriotic site on stolen land, (we are NOT AT ALL the target audience) but it exceed expectations at every turn. Truly a 10/10 experience from staff, to sites to amenities.

We only stayed the night, but there was so much to take advantage I was almost disappointed we didn’t stay longer.

Huge pool, large chess game, community dinners (no vegetarian/ vegan options) ice cream socials, camp store, etc.

Nice bathrooms, didn’t use laundry. WiFi and ATT& Verizon worked at site. Gravel sites needed leveling with full hook ups. Picnic table came with site.

    Overnight near interstate

I booked this park months out- needed a place to stay on our way home from AZ. We left the Grand Canyon in the morning and stopped in Gallup to sleep before heading to Petroglyph NM the next morning. The staff member at the entry was very efficient, friendly, and informative. Our site was toward the back of the property- so we didn’t hear any road noise. The park was probably around 3/4 full on the Monday night we stayed- but it was pretty quiet. There was a pet area with a cinder block “fence” and several people walked dogs around in the park. I wanted to take a peek at the pool- so I picked up my 6 lb dog to walk into that area to see it and a lady quickly intercepted me and said dogs couldn’t be in that area. The pool looked decent from what I could see. The cell signal seemed strong from the indicators on our devices but I guess due to the number of users in the area, we had slow service. We tried the park’s WiFi but it was too slow to do much. Our site was mostly level so we used our small curved levelers on one side. The sites are VERY close together and many of the picnic tables seem to need new boards for seats.

    Nice RV Park

Had everything we needed plus more. Heated pool with American Flag inlaid. Veteran theme. Nice area to hike is the creek bed joust off the doggie walk area. Heated pool is no turned off for the winter. Over 100 sites, most pull through.

    Clean, quiet, organized & friendly

Great place to stop & relax. Laundry room large & comfortable. Bathrooms clean. Friendly staff. Only negative is that tent spots don’t have much shade & one picnic table needs replacing.

Located on the Navajo Nation, this region experiences temperature swings of 30-40 degrees between day and night, even in summer months. Winter visitors should prepare for freezing temperatures when staying in cabins throughout the region.

What to do

Explore local dining options: USA RV Park in Gallup positions visitors near restaurant options. "We were able to get pizza delivered to our RV site which was a big hit with the kids," notes Nicole B., who appreciated this convenience during an overnight stay at USA RV Park.

Visit Canyon de Chelly: The camping cabins near Spider Rock provide access to this significant natural landmark. "There is a great hiking trail that starts at the campground and goes to the canyon," explains Francois T., who stayed at Spider Rock Campground and found its location ideal for exploring nearby attractions.

Enjoy pool facilities: During warm months, some cabin accommodations offer swimming amenities. "Clean showers, a nice heated pool, very friendly staff," writes Bryson D. about his experience at USA RV Park, highlighting recreational options beyond hiking and sightseeing.

What campers like

Well-stocked camp stores: Visitors appreciate on-site shopping options at certain cabin locations. "Really well done park and facilities, maybe even the best camp store I have ever visited. Gallup is a super interesting place and could have easily spent way more time than we did," reports Mike M. about his experience at USA RV Park.

Pet-friendly accommodations: Many cabin facilities welcome pets, with dedicated areas for animals. "There was a pet area with a cinder block 'fence' and several people walked dogs around in the park," notes Susan R., who appreciated the dog-friendly nature of her stay, though she mentions certain areas like pools remained off-limits to pets.

Proximity to attractions: Camping cabins near Fort Defiance allow easy access to regional points of interest. "Basic campground run by a local with various sized campsite... Nothing around the area and about 10 miles from town," explains Berton M., providing context about Spider Rock Campground's location relative to Chinle.

What you should know

Cash payment requirements: Some facilities have specific payment policies. At Spider Rock Campground, "Howard Smith (who doesn't look like the photo on his site anymore) only accepts payments on-site in cash," cautions Geoff S., warning about potential payment scams targeting European travelers.

Varying levels of maintenance: Cabin upkeep varies significantly between properties. "It is rough around the edges but you will be very close to the rim of the canyon and within a short drive of amazing access points via car and foot," explains Craig J. about Spider Rock Campground, noting its rustic conditions despite the exceptional location.

Connectivity limitations: Internet access can be challenging. "The cell signal seemed strong from the indicators on our devices but I guess due to the number of users in the area, we had slow service. We tried the park's WiFi but it was too slow to do much," reports Susan R. about her connectivity experience at USA RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Book early for summer stays: Advance planning is essential for cabin reservations, particularly for family-sized units. "I booked this park months out - needed a place to stay on our way home from AZ," shares Susan R., highlighting the importance of securing accommodations well ahead of travel dates.

Consider noise factors: Some campgrounds experience significant ambient noise. "We were there on a quite busy airport day/night. We don't use ear plugs and it was very noisy from the aircraft," notes Semi H., providing context about potential sleep disruptions at USA RV Park.

Check space limitations: Confirm cabin capacity matches your family size. Regarding the hogan accommodations at Spider Rock, one visitor found that "one can sleep comfortably on these mattresses with 3 people, not more," despite having informed the campground they were a party of six.

Tips from RVers

Vehicle size restrictions: Larger RVs face limitations at certain campgrounds. "We have a 28' 5th wheel and after looking at the potential spots, had to back our way out. There is no way to turn around," warns Bob & Ramona F. about their experience attempting to camp at Spider Rock Campground, adding "If camping here, I would have had to back my way into a spot."

Level site availability: RVers should prepare for minor leveling requirements. "Our site was mostly level so we used our small curved levelers on one side. The sites are VERY close together," notes Susan R., providing practical advice about site conditions at USA RV Park.

Discount availability: Several cabin camping facilities offer special pricing. "Full hookups with military and Good Sam discounts. We've stayed here before and we will again," mentions Jeanne A., highlighting potential savings opportunities for qualified visitors staying at USA RV Park.
