Salmon Lake Cabin Sitka

Within Tongass National Forest, Salmon Lake Cabin Sitka operates as a US Forest Service rental cabin that requires reservations and costs $50 per night. The remote wilderness location features forested terrain near both a creek and lake, though access involves rough roads that limit the site to tent camping only.

One recent visitor described the cabin as cozy but noted it gets quite dark at night, recommending fairy lights for interior lighting and suggesting bringing a file to sharpen the provided axe. The site emphasizes Leave No Trace principles due to very limited resources on-site. Fishing opportunities exist in the surrounding waters, and alcohol is permitted, though pets are not allowed. For additional options in the region, campers can explore campsites near Sitka.

Fee Info

Only one change per reservation for all Alaska cabins is allowed. Change is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation; after one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the current reservation and re-book the new dates.

Great cabin tucked in old growth

remote cabin in wilderness This cabin is cozy, but get dark at night. Highly recommend to bring fairy lights for inside and a file for the axe. Heads up very limited resources and LNT principles are highly encouraged. Enjoy!
