    No bathrooms during off season

Mainly a large parking lot, no bathrooms this time of year. Beautiful right on the way, be careful driving on the sand especially at low tide it quickly turns to mud flats

This is a great campground, but it’s hard to get a spot during the busy summers. While I was a local I camped here regularly. Before and after tourist season are best, as it’s quieter then. Beautiful lake. Beautiful skies when it is dark.

    No Fish at the lake!

Had a great view. Most campsites along the water have decent launches to the water. The further down the road, the more challenging the launch. There are a few campsites along the backside with zero access. We were virtually alone most of the weekend. The sites were slightly overgrown and a little buggy. But once we started our fire, they quickly disappeared. Also, having mosquito coils or thermacell is recommended. More gnats than mosquitoes. But seriously no fish to be caught in this lake. We didn’t see any topwater action(no fish jumping) at any point. Go there if you just want to have fun in your kayak, sup, or if you have kids. They’d enjoy it.

    Fishing hot spot

The special use area was open for Subsistence fishing - and made for an easy place to camp outside of Kenai. Not really a scenic site, but efficient with trash and porta potties. Most other campers were local with big set ups for the fishing days.

Camping with a good fishing problem

A good place just to rest. It’s not a well maintained place; There is a porta-john on-site, no toilets or showers. Not many electric hooks ups. It looks like 110v no water or sewer. Coffee and restaurant gets an Alaskan 5 stars

    A Hidden Gem

The Hidden Lake campground is made up of three sections we stayed on Ridge Loop and it was very peaceful. Price was $10 per night. There were lots and lots of bugs so make sure you have bug spray. Each site felt pretty secluded and private. If you are staying in a tent watch out for rocks we had to remove some pretty big ones. Other than that it was a great night.

Many excellent trails all around the mountain and Kenai and Russian River area where Gwins Lodge and Roadhouse is located. Primitive only. Porta-John. Bring water. Fire wood for sale as well as liquor, beer and wine on-site. MJ 420 store 1 mile east. Fun place with restaurant, bar, store, liquor, to-go foods.

They weren’t sleeping bags and dry bags. 10 sites will run you $25 RVs 40 and cabins start at $175. This is right off the Sterling highway and impossible to mess it’s worth checking out if you’re looking at hooking up your RV.

    Cabin rental no camping

This is actually a cabin rental facility and they do not offer RV parking or camping. It is on a nice set of land and the owners are very friendly and would make a good rental if you’re tired of camping.

    Worth the hike

This is an awesome location, certainly worth the hike. You should plan to stay a couple nights if possible. Typical forest service cabin, right on the river, with very likely nobody else around for miles. Great Alaskan experience.

    Great little campground

We lived in this area for 40 yrs. This is not the only campground in this park. There are a number of small lakes and even a canoe trail connecting many of them. The campgrounds range from ones with tables and fire rings , to tent spots with no amenities and a short drive to the pit toilets. There is no water, cell service, or hookups anywhere close by and It is a long dirt road fom the main hwy. It is well maintained. Unless it's been raining, then it can be bumpy and muddy. A 20 foot trailer is about all anyone would fit in most spots. Randy

    Hidden Fun

Hidden Lake canpground is made up of three sections. Skyview loop the furthest from the lake is the largest with sites large enough for any rig. #6, 10 15 and 20 are handicapped only, do not park here unless you have tags or hanging proof. Ridge Loop and Lake Loop are both tighter and have signs warning of limited manuverbility. Sure #6 on lake loop is ADA and #1 on Ridge loop is ADA. There are trails down to the lake from the upper two, ridge and skyview. There is a free boat launch to access Hidden lake which has trout, dolly garden, kokanee and land locked salmon. Seven day limit at only $10 a day. There are day use covered picnic pavilions, an amphitheater, hiking trails and camp host. The walk in tent area is very private and tree covered. All sites have tables and fire rings. Love this place!

    Convenient for dipnetting

Camping is basically anywhere on the beach where you can find a spot (within signposted designated area). It's dispersed. While it was busy, we had no trouble finding a spot that wasn't too crowded. I said the cost is 0-$10 as I don't remember how much we paid. I recall we had a permit that we fixed to our tent, but it was very cheap.

There were about 8 to 10 porta-potties all in a row at the where the beach meets the road. They were disgusting and nearly full. In fact, it has been 2 years since we were down there and that is my biggest memory. Others who frequent the campground bring a tall "privacy" tent with their own portable toileting system- probably a bucket.

A little loud at night with a few raucous drunk people on ATVs. We parked our car in front of our tent as a deterrent. There were no problems, luckily.

It was beautiful, being on the ocean and a short drive or 20 min walk to the popular dipnetting area. And convenient to get up for early morning dipnetting sessions without the crowds. The weather was great but I imagine it would be rough camping on the beach if windy with flying sand everywhere.
