The city closed this campground this year. Seems the police were tired of doing their job. Head to the spit instead.

I love this park in the street here all the time. I am local and it’s still a beautiful getaway. Incredible views and great tent sites.
There is cow parsnip everywhere so be careful with children. The sites are small and not very level. Any larger RV or Camper is not going to work very well in the majority of sites.
Beautiful park and views can be had from this campground.
Beautiful wooded area with plenty of camping sites. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. It does cost $20 per night. And there were quite a few bugs out when we’re there so don’t forget the bug spray!
Charming sites in the wood with amazing view on the homer spit and the bay. Playground close to the campground (perfect with kids). Regular Toilets closed due to Covid.
Our family fell in love with Homer thanks to the beauty of this wonderful area. It certainly does help to have a playground nearby for the kiddos, and wildlife galore (there were moose near our campsite). It does get quite busy here and I believe that it is because of its location on the hill, blocked by the freezing breezes.
We will never forget hanging out on the playground with the kiddos. Our special moment was like a dream seeing the sun setting over an amazingly clear view of the Aleutian chain on the Pacific as a full moon rose over the glacier! Incredible!
If you have kids. This is the place to be. You can walk or drive here and hang out under the picnic pavilion while the kids get their energy out.
If your traveling with littles this is the place.
This was our 2nd time here bc we liked it the first time. We ended up moving spots bc as soon as I got out of the car there were cond*ms on the ground (nasty). The site we ended up at also had broken glass on the ground. Not sure if the manager isn’t doing daily walkthroughs or what? It is still a cute campground with a playground and cozy spots for tents. But being a campground manager is a pretty sweet gig, give it to someone happy to make sure the campground is clean and SAFE. (Suggestion: Maybe say no to glass on campground)
We ended up finding this campground which was the only with availability in the woods. It was located in the neighborhood behind the playground/Park. If you have children this would be a prime location to hangout. It was perfect to come back to the campsite and play after a long day exploring homer. The toilets were okay, they had water available and not too far from the fishing hole. Bring bats, gloves, soccer balls etc as there is plenty of space to play. If my husband were to go fishing all day I would of been fine hanging out at the site with the children. I’m only giving it 4 stars because we were in the middle of the neighbor which was cute but odd finding the place.
A small "city" campground located on the hill above Homer. Beautiful scenery all around. These sites are first come, first served. It has the basic amenities including picnic tables, fire rings, pit toilets and potable water. Easy access to town if needed.
A lot of people love camping on the spit, but if you're like us and decide that you want a little more privacy (and less wind!) this is a great spot. We had a really nice night here. The bathrooms were a little far away, which might have been annoying had we stayed longer.
