Lake Wenatchee State Park is a 489-acre camping park with 12,623-feet of waterfront on glacier-fed Lake Wenatchee and the Wenatchee River and is a great place for camping near Seattle. The park is bisected by the Wenatchee River, creating two distinct areas – south park, which features areas for camping, swimming and horseback riding, and north park, which is in a less developed, forested section of the park and a quarter-mile walk from the lake.

The park has 155 tent spaces, 42 water and electric sites, one dump station, seven restrooms, and 16 showers. In addition, the park provides two ADA campsites. Call 509-763-3101 for more information.

The south campground (sites 1 - 100) has parking pads 30 to 40-feet in length, with only two pull-through sites. Larger RVs and fifth-wheelers should use the north campground (sites 101 - 197) which includes 42 large pull-through utility sites. Maximum tents allowed are one family tent or up to two 2-3 man tents. Maximum vehicles allowed are two per site, additional vehicles may park in overflow areas.

Daroga State Park Campground, nestled near Orondo, WA, is a gem along the Columbia River. This spot is perfect for those looking to unwind with some stunning river views and plenty of open space. The campground operates from April to October, offering a mix of tent, RV, and even glamping accommodations.

One of the standout features here is the lush, expansive grassy areas. They’re great for picnicking, playing games, or just lounging around barefoot. The park is also big-rig friendly, so RVers can enjoy the convenience of electric hookups and water at their sites. Just be prepared for some narrow site pads, which might require a bit of maneuvering.

For those who love a bit of adventure, the campground offers walk-in tent sites that are about a half-mile hike from the parking area. They provide carts, but bringing your own wagon might save you some hassle. The walk is worth it, though, as these sites offer a quieter, more secluded experience with beautiful views of the Columbia River.

Pets are welcome, so feel free to bring your furry friends along. And if you’re into water activities, you’ll love the easy access to the river for swimming, kayaking, or just floating around. The park also has a boat launch if you’re bringing a vessel.

Overall, Daroga State Park Campground is a fantastic spot for families, couples, or solo campers looking to enjoy some peace and natural beauty by the river. Just remember to pack for the wind and enjoy the wide-open spaces and scenic views.
