Kozy Campground is located along the Hoback River, allowing for excellent fishing in an area of the Hoback that has less visitors. This campground is located far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Snake River and Hoback Junction, that is makes for a quiet and peaceful spot to camp out and enjoy the outdoors.

Jackson Hole/Snake River Park KOA

The Slide Lake Boating Site is a small, beautiful lake access point, ideal for kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and other non-motorized watercraft. It is located down the Taylor Ranch Road, a spur off the main Gros Ventre Road that winds down through aspen stands and large boulders from the Gros Ventre Slide. There are several small parking spots amongst the willows, aspens and large boulders, directly adjacent to the lake and a small beach. A small sandy trail leads down to the beach, located near the lake’s outlet and offers great access to the lake’s western shores. There are no facilities located on site, although dispersed and fee campgrounds are located nearby. Parking is limited and tight and does not have ample space for trailer turnaround. No cellular service is available.



Taylor Ranch Road Dispersed Camping

This is a remote trailhead located in the Granite Creek drainage south of Jackson. The trailhead is a large gravel parking area in thick pine and spruce forest near the creek and the developed Granite Hot Springs, which receives high use in the summer months. A lower trailhead also exists near Granite Falls, a stunning waterfall which has a small natural hot spring. The Granite Cr Road is gravel and in good condition and does not necessarily require four wheel drive, although it is recommended when wet or in the spring and fall. This is the main access to the Granite Cr Trail #4018, a non-motorized trail which enters the Gros Ventre Wilderness and leads visitors through stunning wildflower meadows surrounded by high mountain peaks and eventually up to Turquoise Lake. No facilities are located at the trailhead itself but picnic areas and bathrooms are available at the hot springs. Single kiosk with a map. No cellular service available. Trailhead is large enough for trailer turnaround. Driving time from Jackson is approximately 1 hour.

Granite Creek Trailhead

Granite Creek Campgound is a large wooded campground nestled in the valley between high mountain peaks very near to the Gros Ventre Wilderness. The campground is located next to designated Wild and Scenic Granite Creek, offering excellent fishing opportunities right next to the campground. Nearby is the popular Granite Creek Hot Springs which is great fun for all ages for soaking in the water and the view after a hard day of recreating. Multiple trails are available very close to the campground and throughout the Granite Creek corridor for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking.

The Teton View Tent is located in Tetonia, Idaho and has breath taking view of the Tetons.

Inside the tent there is a comfortable king size bed, a mini couch that turns into a pullout sleeping mat that can fit two small children. There are also two sleeping mats that can be used but are short in length so fit a child best. The table seats 4 to play games or work at. Outside is a fire pit and picnic table to enjoy meals outdoors. A hammock is in the trees nearby to lay back and relax. Private porta potty located near the tent.

East Table Group Campground offers space for camping when campgrounds along the Snake River are nearly full. The campground is located across the highway from the Snake River and offers excellent morning and evening views of the surrounding mountains. It is a good option for groups.

Located on the same property as The Virginian Lodge, but with separate check-in, you’ll enjoy 103 RV sites, comfortable and convenient facilities, plus full access to all the lodge amenities. The Virginian RV Park is open from May 1st through October 15th, depending on the weather.

It is our pleasure to welcome you to Crooked Creek Guest Ranch! Named after the nearby meandering stream, Crooked Creek Guest Ranch is perched at 8,400 feet in the Wind River Mountain Range along the continental divide. Just steps out the front door you will be overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the surrounding wilderness. The entrance to the Shoshone National Forest is just minutes from the property and there is so much fun to be had exploring the trails whether on snowmobile, ATV, horseback or on foot.

Our facilities boast seventeen magnificent hand-hewn one and two story log cabins, and 14 RV sites with 30/50 amp electrical hook ups as well as water hookups. Our impressive main lodge provides a warm escape with good company. The lodge features our very own restaurant and bar, which are open seasonally to both guests and non-guests where we also sell package beer and liquor. We have a small general store that has everyday essentials as well as souvenirs and other merchandise. There is a heated garage on site that can be used free of charge if needed.

Visit Artist’s Point and hike the 300 feet down to the lower falls to feel the rush of the Yellowstone River. 


For a more touristy experience, snag a site in the Madison Campground. Being one of the largest in the park and less than 20 miles from the famous geyser Old Faithful, this area is a go-to for first time visitors. Sitting at an elevation just below 7,000 feet, the crisp mountain air will refresh. This area gets a lot of traffic, so pack in your patience and remember that the parks are for everyone to enjoy. 


Camping in Wyoming also gives the chance to get off the grid. Grand Teton National Park is directly to the south of Yellowstone and allows for some easy-access backpacking. When done right, you can avoid the droves of humanity that flock to the Greater Yellowstone region. 


For an easy trek into the backcountry, get a scenic spot along Leigh Lake or String Lake. These camping sites are often booked months in advance, so get them quick! A hidden gem tucked in the shadow of Mount Moran is Bearpaw Lake and is also relatively accessible from the same trail. Remember your bear spray and enjoy some genuine Wyoming camping!
