Best Glamping near Evanston, WY

We stopped by on our way to Wyoming and trough up a tent. Lots of stars and really quite. The view are nice and it is a great primitive camp spot.

Nice little campground. Road is a little ruff coming from the west, but coming in from the north through Wyoming is way easier on the vehicle. It takes me about an hour longer, but it is worth it. We camp here because the kids like to fish, and we can all ride dirtbikes, ATV, and side-by-side.

State line Cove Campround is great. The beachy lake was awesome. I enjoyed doing some stand up paddle boarding, and swimming in the lake. My campsite was right next to the lake. It was great to open up my tent and see the beautiful lake and sandy area. This campground actually is close to the Wyoming and Utah boarder. There really isn't any shaded areas, so during the summer months I'm sure it gets pretty hot. You can't make reservations ahead of time, it's on a first come first serve basis. However, I got there around 6pm on a Friday and was able to get a good spot. The campsites are pretty bare, and not every campsite comes with a picnic table. The toilets are a little gross, but it wasn't a huge deal for me. I would come back again just to do more stand up paddle boarding in the lake!

Visited Whitney Reservoir during the 2nd weekend of July. The wildflowers were showing off all over the place! The reservoir actually looked quite full to me, it was beautiful. From what I could gather, I was expecting this area to be much more crowded than it actually was. It was not nearly as busy as I thought. My husband and I arrived late Friday morning and got a great spot near the water. Neighbors were about 50- yards away but coudn't see them from camp. Much more private than a typical campground. The main road was manageable through 638 (the road we stayed on) but got bumpier after that. Pulled a 18' camper and some spots were pretty rough. But I saw bigger campers get to the same area so it's doable. By the way Google maps shows 638 as a loop. It was NOT a loop. Maybe if the water was lower it would have been. We had to make a tight turn around to go back up the steep hill. I imagine it would be tough with a much bigger camper. Caught tiger and rainbow trout from shore both evenings but the mosquitos are bad!! Be prepared with DEET and/or a ThermaCELL. We saw tons of wildlife, including a moose swimming in the lake (one of the perks staying by the water! ) Overall, if you're looking for a beautiful getaway, this might be it! No service for the most part except for random spots here and there (at&t).

Great boondocking spots if you’re willing to get off the beaten path and get a little dirt.

Arrived on a Friday afternoon and snagged a spot with a great view but no shade, which was fine with me. The site was nice and flat with a fire circle. The road in was a bit rough because Google maps send me the back way and not on 150. I could see neighbors but not hear them. Minus one star for the tough access after rain and for the reservoir being dry on the end of this particular spot.

Great overnight trip. Water level is very low and it was fairly crowded for a Tuesday night. Roads are in very bad shape for the number of RVs in the area. Great scenery and lots of deer wandering close by.

Incredible back woods camping. Dirt roads to no where! Loved every minute! We’ll definitely be going back...soon!!

My boyfriend and I spent 45 days at Whitney Reservoir. It was by far the best experience We’ve ever had. Of course on busy weekends there was a little more commotion from other campers and atvs. However everyone was respectful of our space. The sheep seem to run the land 😂 we experienced the water drop almost 30 feet. Fishing was phenomenal. Never skunked. We made a point to revamp, clean, and improve the campsites we visited. The rangers in this area are extremely nice and helpful. I had a just a few pets... 10 turkey vultures, 2 bald eagles, 1 Osprey, 1 woodpecker, 4 deer, 2 Moose, 2 porcupines, mice, lots of chip monks, 1 fox, a couple owls and Coyote. A bear we never saw... and many, many, many unwanted flies. As the water receded the algae bloomed quite a bit and made it a little creepy to swim in. We very much enjoyed watching the moon go through it’s phases and star gazing with zero light pollution. The road is a little bumpy past the Dam but we had a Subaru Tribeca that went everywhere it needed to. We arrived at the end of July and we called it quits when a small hurricane came through and snowed for two days.

I just returned from a 3 night stay at Whitney Reservoir and I think this may be my new favorite spot. Peaceful, beautiful…honestly words don’t describe. You access via FR032 off Mirror Lake Highway and go 7-8 miles. The road does get bumpy at times due to rocks and washboard. I was towing a Rpod with a Tacoma and it did fine. I just had to take it slow.

This place has lots and lots of places to pull off and camp pretty much to accommodate any group size. Good fishing, good riding and away from everything what’s not to love?!

This site was very big & the creek surrounded on two sides. It even had 2 picnic tables. When we were here, this part of the campground was empty across from us & site beside us was empty which we loved! We got to listen to the birds. The campground kids enjoying the playground & pool were on the other side of the creek beyond a thick stand of trees.

Really fun place in Utah. This was my dogs favorite campground so far. They have so much room to walk, and plenty of wildlife around to keep them interested. There were also several kids around to keep my son happy. He didn’t want to leave.

This is such a pretty and accommodating place to stay. They had a small pond for kids to fish in, two swimming pools and two hot tubs, very clean and modern facilities, well maintained campsites with fire pit, a cute little shop with firewood, treats, and other necessities and they have dvds and sports equipment you can check out. Such a fun place!

Full hookups Trash dumpsters Decent space between rvs Pools are great! Bathrooms and showers are clean. There are some longtime RV residents, but not too many.

Loved this campsite very beautiful and relaxing

(& have recommended!) The staff here was incredibly nice and accommodating. We tent camped right on the river and had a fire in the firepit! Easy access to VERY clean/nice restrooms. We would camp here again!

We had a great time overnight here. The pools were super refreshing. There were two, one seemed to naturally be for adults, the other for kids. Don't know if that happens often, but it was nice. Two hot tubs too! After that there was a movie playing across from our camping spot. It wasn't loud or obtrusive so we couldn't hear it in the camper, but I went out and it was fun to go watch. I also got a cheeseburger plate from the food truck place. It was AMAZING. The fries were also insanely good. Everyone was quiet after 10, although some people really light up their rigs and some lights were on all night.

This place IS crowded on the weekends. Lots of families who seemed to be having a great time. We did have an audience while I was backing the camper in, which was kinda sucky. If you're looking for a quiet, secluded get away, this isn't it. But a fun family experience it is.

Clean, nice showers and bathrooms. Lots of rules here, example: only go 5 mph in the park, or a person in a golf cart might give you the business.

From the moment we pulled in we could just tell this was a fun family environment. Our kids loved it! The pool area is amazing. The store was well stocked. And the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly.

We are really big rig, so you have to be careful what site you pick if you’re super sized like we are, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The only reason it didn’t get five stars from me is due to the dirt road (people drive fast and kicked up dust all the time), and there was no fenced in dog park.
