Best RV Parks & Resorts near Evanston, WY

Phillips RV Park in Evanston provides full hookups with 50-amp service for RVs on gravel sites from mid-April through mid-October. The park features easy pull-through spaces that accommodate larger motorhomes and fifth wheels, though some travelers note the septic connections are positioned toward the rear of sites. Fort Bridger RV Camp, located about 30 miles from Evanston, offers spacious RV sites with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups on grassy terrain. Both locations accommodate big rigs with sufficient maneuvering room for vehicles with towed trailers or cars. "Nice spot off the highway with easy large spaces for a Class A towing," noted one visitor about Phillips RV Park.

Seasonal closures affect some RV parks in the region, with Phillips operating only from April 15 to October 15, while others remain open year-round. Water pressure can vary significantly between facilities, with Phillips requiring pressure regulators according to management. Several travelers mentioned highway and railway noise at Phillips, which sits near Interstate 80 and train tracks. Most parks provide standard amenities including trash disposal, shower facilities, and WiFi, though signal strength tends to be inconsistent. Pet-friendly policies are common, though dog areas at Phillips have received mixed reviews regarding cleanliness and maintenance. During winter weather events, these RV parks become critical stopping points when highway closures occur.

    Washington Lake Campground

A very popular, family friendly, beautiful campground.

We stayed for 7 nights (the limit) in August of 2023. It's all paved, asphalt road and concrete pad for picnic table. Very beautiful setting with the large lake and mountains surrounding. Fishing-yes! Hand powered boating, hiking trails and lots of other lakes to explore.

There no water available but you can fill your RV, Trailer or whatever at the entrance to the Lost Creek CG which is about 3 miles east on Hwy 150. No Dump station, nearest being in Kamas.

Seems to be a popular place for local (SLC) families to gather. Family friendly so lots of kids. Quiet time 10PM to 6AM.

Dry Hollow Campground — Echo State Park

    Right by the lake

We are at a spot that is on a cement loop (#1) which was unlevel and it is not next to the lake but closer to the road (which is not too busy) but a view of the lake. You get a nice covered pavilion with a steel picnic table and fire ring with grate for grilling. The camp host was very sweet. Most of the sites are pull through and accommodates big rigs very well. The park managers keep it clean.

    Great for long-term stays

Staying at this location while working on a local project. It’s a great long-term stay option. The owner has kept the grounds in great condition even during cold winter months.

Right off the river with different options for different travelers. Close to town. Quiet.

    Sun Outdoors Garden City Utah

    On the beach!

This campground seems like it is one of the closer campgrounds to the water. It's pet-friendly, has full hookups, picnic tables, and wifi. The nice thing about this campground is it does have a beach as well as water/lake access. Not as many amenities as the KOA (Bear Lake/Marina Side).

The bathhouse was very clean. Did seem less busy than the KOA (Bear Lake/Marina Side).

    Sulphur Campground

A small campground south of Evanston, Wy along Utah 150-Mirror Lake Hwy

Location- 39 miles south of Evanston, Wy in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest of Utah. It is on the east side of Hwy 150 and sits at 9,100'.  There are 15 single site and 6 dbls sites. Reservable with water, sometimes (had it when we were there) and vault toilets.

Some sites aren't level and some sites can become lakes in heavy rain (our friends were in #3 and we almost had to get out the boats!).

Hosts were nice and kept the facilities clean.

Pretty area with the Hayden Fork of the Bear River on the east side of the Campground. Whiskey Creek Trailhead across the Hwy from the CG. Trail leads to Bourbon Lake (yes- this is Utah!).

Beautiful drive from Evanston. Ranger station is about 5 miles north of the CG. Just beyond that is a dump station. Don't remember if there is a sign but it's a hundred yards or so down a little forest road east of 150.

We tried fishing the river by the CG and below the confluence with the East Fork. Caught nothing and saw nothing.

This is one of those places where you want to have everything you need with you.

Evanston and Kamas are 40-ish miles away.

    Riverside RV Park

    Very nice small town park

Riverside RV Park is great. No frills , just a clean and safe place to spend the night or several days. $35.00 a night gets you full hook ups and a pleasant, quite spot to park. Located on the outskirts of Kemmerer, Wyoming. 17 sites are offered for RV s of all sizes. 8 are back in that are up along the Ham Fork River. The others are paved pull through. All have power, water and sewer. Owners are terrific! Cell phone coverage is very good and park WiFi is the best we have been around in 6 months! I highly recommend Riverside for anyone looking for a one night stay or needing a number of days in a charming town.( Kemmerer is Home to the original JC Penny department store). If you like to hunt for fossils, the surrounding hills are full of them. Fossil Butte National Monument is just 11 miles from town.

Dixie Creek Campground — East Canyon State Park

A good example of how government campsites should be done

Overall, the facility is neat and clean for a campground. My visit was at the end of the 4th weekend, so some messes were expected. My campsite was in good shape upon setting up my 30ft trailer. All sites are back-in and mostly flat asphalt. A little rig leveling might be needed. The outside of the loop at Dixie C.G. is electric and water only. The inside of the loop has full hook-ups.

All sites have long, sturdy metal tables and a metal cover over a concrete pad. A fire pit was adjacent. Even with fire restrictions almost everywhere else in Utah, wood fires were permitted in the provided pit. Common area toilets are well maintained, containing flush toilets and running water. Most service buildings also contain free showers.

A one-star deduction is due to the effects of climate change, which is out of the Park's control to an extent. That said, my beef is with maintenance of the beach - a nice beach by the way. It's obvious where the historical water level use to be. Wish I could have seen the reservoir full because it may never happen again. But I digress. I think the park should rake or scrape the beach surface to remove offensive weeds and people's discards. That takes workers, budget and equipment. My guess is our State representatives lack interest to fund state parks for such mediation measures. It would greatly enhance the visual appeal and safety for families at the water's edge.

    Riverside RV Park

More full-time residents then visiting campers

This stop is nice, but not the prettiest view but super friendly staff. Electric 20, 30, and 50 amps available water and sewer hook up. Not much cell service, they did offer free Wi-Fi but was super slow. The area driving to it was beautiful. Good for an overnight while traveling. Cost was $50.00 a night.

    Phillips RV Park

    Road closure last minute stay.

While heading to Tennessee in mid October, the I-80 closed closed down due to weather and car wrecks. Came up into Evanston and found ourselves in the middle of 100s of big rigs parking on the road in all Lanes, we were able to find an opening and flip around onto the other side of the freeway and backtrack to the small town of Evanston, where 100s more big rigs, rvers and travelers were trying to find respite for the night. We hopped on the Dyrt and we're able to get two spots for the night. Water and electric and sewage. 35$ a night. It was a safe spot to lay our heads and wait out the storm.

Little did we know that the next day we would need to stay again after leaving at 11 and finding out the road was still closed and not opening till 4pm. With high wind warning and blowing snow we decided to stay a second night. Was a great spot. There are train tracks somewhat close, so if that bothers you keep going. We rather enjoy them.

Didn't use showers, but did laundry and the facility was nice and clean, plenty of washers and 3 big dryers with a wash sink.

    Ground we're nicely kept.
