Beautiful city park
Great free camp site. You’re allowed to stay up to 3 days at a time and have toilets right next to the site. Super close to the city and wild iris climbing area

We staying in Lander city park with many other travelers. The parking lot is large enough to maneuver a large rig. Nice walk to downtown.
It’s a super cute spot with a bathroom and it’s free. Very cute town! Will definitely stop here again

It’s basic, it’s simple, it gets the job done! Looking for a free camp area in Lander? Well look no further than the Lander City Park!
That’s right, you can sleep, camp, park, RV right on the south end of the park. There are bathrooms and the river right along the park. What you see is what you get. You can camp anywhere on the super green lawn or chill in your RV or SUV/truck. It’s free! And that’s hard to beat (especially in this economy)!
It’s right in town so you get excellent service and you can go snag something to eat if you are tired of boiling water for cup o noodles. It’s at the park so you can grab all your new hobo friends there and go play a quick game of kickball on the diamond fields, show off your horseshoe throwing skills at the horseshoe pits (bring your own horseshoes) slam some spikes at the volleyball pit, tennis it out at the tennis courts, start a therapy session with strangers, jam out on your guitar on the stage (magic shows and interpretive dances are also allowed) or just dip your feet in the cool streams that run through the park.
It’s not much, but it’s an honest place. Respectable and non judgmental park because everyone is there doing the exact same thing you are doing. Just trying to pass the night to get to some incredible adventure the next day.

Stayed only for a night but would have stayed longer if I had better ATT service for work (3 bars of 3G). There’s plenty of space for both rigs and tents. There’s two bathrooms which were very clean. There’s also trash cans throughout the area and two dumpsters. No water or electricity but a lot of other things to enjoy for free! You are just five minutes from town and restaurant so you can restock on everything and there are several shelters or picnic tables scattered throughout the park that you will have access to. There’s a lovely walking path to another park or throughout part of this park that was very enjoyable for me and the dog. Met a lot of really nice people there and felt very safe.

Enjoyed 2 nights in a campervan. Good shade, restrooms, and picnic tables. Some stand up grills. Stream along perimeter. Lots of camping activity; tents, vans, and campers.

Great place to stop in for a night or two. 4 th of July weekend destination.
We were on our way to Yellowstone an realized wasn't going to make it to way late so we stopped here an easily found a spot to bed down for the night
Thank you to the town of Lander for this great idea, 3 nights free by a cute creek in the middle of a cute town Way to attract tourists and pamper them a little in return. The creek itself is a huge undertaking, they are trying to protect local fauna by narrowing the creek using rocks strategically placed so the water doesn't stop flowing during dry season. It seems like this town pays attention, the right way. Thank you
Free camping in Lander City Park. We couldn’t believe everything Lander had to offer and it was just a short walk from where we were camping along the creek. There are nearby walking trails, picnic areas and a playground in the park.
There are no hookups, sewer or the usual campground amenities, but if you’re self-contained you can camp here for free for up to 10 days I believe. We felt safe and had a great experience in the small town. Many other vans and campers there overnight.

... for this just wonderful spot! Clean, shady, and quiet next to a small river and within walking distance to the downtown district with great restaurants and bars. And it's free for 3 nights (donations welcome). Flat gravel spots for several even large RV's, most with picnic tables, restrooms, and huge grassy areas for tents as well.

If you’re reading this, it’s likely you climb. You could say the same about everyone here.
This is a perfect place for climbers: free, close proximity to the crags, and it’s got your basic amenities: toilet and water.
There is also a decent amount of shade here with decent Verizon service.
Lander City Park is perfect for those in the area looking for an area to spend the night. There’s plenty of room for RV’s as well as multiple tent sites. Many of the sites have a table and grill included. You can stay here for free for up to 3 nights.
Lander City Park is right on the river, and within walking distance from the downtown area. There also seem to be plenty of bike trails. There is also a really neat, huge playground with our kiddos really enjoyed.
There is a bathroom as well as a shower house.
Will be boondocking here again when we are in the area.

Travelers use this rest-stop in lander city park ..nice place to sleep and green grass for tents .. gravel park for vehicles, rv. All the reviews are good .. Thank the people of lander for this spot !
I'm not sure how Lander makes this work, but they do(and I wish more cities could do the same). We pulled in after dark needing a place to sleep and this place is more than we could have expected. Level ground and lots of room, so it was easy to find a spot for our trailer that required no backing up. Bathrooms nearby. Dark and quiet area(doesn't feel like a parking lot). There is a large gravel area with a couple large trees for RVs, trailers, vans, and such. There's also a large grass and trees area for tents adjacent. The whole area is next to a large riverbed with lots of vegetation along the banks. Everything seems clean and well-kept. Lander seems like a really nice town. It's relatively lush, unlike the surrounding country, and feels like an oasis. The signs say the city allows three day's camping and I would be happy to do so if I were ever in the area for an event(apparently there's an apple festival next week!). There's no fee, but there is a sign suggesting donations to the city park service which certainly seems reasonable if you can swing it.

The camping area attached to the city park a few blocks off the main road is gem. Cascading river next to the camper area provides lots of white noise. The tent area is lush & green with a few trees, totally unexpected. But to achieve that there were sprinklers going off at 6pm when I arrived. They quit about 8. Now the question is will they go off in the morning? Yes they went off at 6am. So be prepaid for rain if you set up a tent.

In the city of Lander you can camp for up to three days for free at the city park. It’s a pretty good deal as the the tent area is set back behind the stadium in a nice grassy area with access to flush toilets in the parking area. It was pretty busy while I was there, with quite a few families and cyclists taking advantage of the free camping. The Popo Agie River runs next to the park which makes for a nice sound machine to fall asleep to. If you need a shower head over to the Recreation Center and pay $5 for use of the facilities. In town are some great restaurants (Cowfish is my favorite, with a microbrewery attached), and outside of town is some great hiking in Sinks Canyon and the Shoshone National Forest.

Great little park next to a great river. It was swollen while we were there. You can use the park facilities. Great town to stay and explore the area.
