4 Days Of Exploring

It’s ridiculously close to Devils Tower. Literally right outside of the park. They’ve got full amenities when they’re open. The pool and restaurant weren’t open because they were still in the process of opening and getting ready for official opening on May 11th. That being said, I didn’t pay full price because of it. Deer roam the camp ground in the morning and evening. You’re gonna have a GREAT view of Devils Tower. The staff are great and always strive to make sure you have a great time when you’re there. Definitely worth staying here.

SiteI was at a Tent site.

That view out your tent

We stayed here for just a night but this spot really won my heart. Open space, clean showers and facilities, a cute cafe and even a gift shop. But nothing beat that gorgeous view of the Tower right from the comforts of our own tent. Then hiking around Devil's Tower the rest of the day was icing on the cake. Definitely my best KOA experience, hands down.

Excellent view.

Easy access to devils tower to beat the crowds. Stay away from the playground up front, it attracts a ton of kids.

Devil's Tower KOA

Devil's Tower KOA has an incredible view and is adjacent to the Devil's Tower National Monument Entrance.

Lovely KOA with all the KOA amenities, one bathroom/showerhouse in great shape and the other under renovation. They have a pool and playground and of course had a showing of 'Close Encounters'. The camping cabin we stayed in was clean and comfortable with AC and heat available. The view of the tower from the cabin was stunning.

I was very impressed with the trees and space between sites in this KOA - quarters were not as tight as we sometimes see. An excellent KOA.

The Devil's Tower area is a beautiful lanscape, with deep native roots. When in the area please respect it and learn about the stories and traditions of its caretakers.

Crowded resort-y

We stayed here when the more “rustic” campgrounds were full in the middle of summer. We don’t usually stay at KOAs so it was a nice surprise that they had a tent area that wasn’t like a theme park. The cabins along the river looked really nice. Everything was nice and clean and they had stores and restaurants. The views of Devil’s Tower were great though most sites don’t have a view, but the crowded facilities were still worthwhile. Personally we’d still prefer to stay at a state park.

Great amenities just not for us

Great little campground close to the monument. All the modern amenities. They also offer cabin rentals which is nice if you dont want to bring all your gear or weather the elements. Personally we prefer a more rustic state/national park style campground. Next time we visit devils tower we'll be making the short drive from Custer.

If you came to see Devils Tower this is the place to stay.

We loved this campground. It was at the gate to the park, had great views, and they show 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' every night, outside with the tower in the background. Very cheesy but very cool. The campground is nice, not a lot of open space between each spot, but it did not feel overly tight.

Impressive but very crowded

There is basically two trails, one that goes directly around the tower and one that is a more distant loop around the tower. The inside loop is very crowded with people, but it's still worth the hike.
