Spent a three day weekend camping here recently for a boys outing. The campground is beautiful and well maintained with a dense forest surrounding you. We went in a 25ft motorhome, which fit between the trees well. Units bigger than 30 ft might have a hard time maneuvering here. The scenic path around the park, beach, and bike friendly proximity to the Anacortes ferry terminal were all bonuses for us.
This is a lovely campground but it's a bit crowded. Due to the landscape there isn't a lot of privacy. Site was clean when we arrived and other than a group down at the group site that was playing loud music at midnight, it was quiet and the staff are friendly. You can pay for firewood at a kiosk using cash or credit card and then call for delivery. The bathrooms needed attention. On a busy weekend, they should be cleaned multiple times per day. One shower was out of order and the other didn't have hot water. Other than that, it was a decent experience. The park is gorgeous.
The good: close to ferry. Nice hiking nearby (2.7 mile loop). The bad: washrooms didn’t seem clean. No hand soap in washrooms. One of two showers in the women’s room in the C-loop broken. Would choose Deception Pass State Park even though it is a longer drive to the ferry.
We love this campground! We didn’t have a reservation but every spot has a colander on it that tells you what days it’s reserved for. We checked in easily and we’re able to buy fire wood as well. Showers are available as well as nice bathrooms and even a cute little library. Fire pits and picnic tables at sites. We saw dolphins and a sea lion!
Great medium size campground surrounded by saltwater, short trails, and grassy picnic areas. Great views of islands and sunsets. Boat launch with large paid parking area. Walking distance to Skyline Marina for a variety of ocean activities. We went on a whale tour and encountered atleast 10 Orcas. Campground can be muddy in some spots. Mostly reservations, 14 day in advance, but there a a few first come first serve sites. Some with water and electric. Motorhome, trailers and tents. Some spots looked like they could handle 40 foot rigs. A couple longer pull throughs. Very shelterd anthrough. Not much good for solar. Showers and restrooms.
We made a last minute decision to stay here, when our ferry from Friday Harbor was delayed by several hours. Very quiet campground, with lots of trees. Bathrooms do have showers as well. And despite details on this site, RV sites do have electric hook up as well. It was absolutely everything that we could have hoped for, for a very good price.
We didn’t have a reservation, but lucked out on a great site. All sites have a calendar posted with reservation dates listed. First come first serve is available for any not reserved that night. There’s a self serve pay station where it’s east to pay using card or cash. Super close to the Ferry terminal if you’re visiting the San Juan Islands. The park is huge with lots of great trails. You’d never know you’re on the edge of town.
We pulled our trailer in, paid our fee and set off on foot. Great trails around the entire peninsula. Be careful, some spots are sketchy if you’re not paying attention. This campground would be great in the summer. Unfortunately, there was a high wind warning and with all of the trees in the campground, we didn’t want to risk it and then pack up and left early. Sweet spot. Easy drive.
Nice big sites, park for the kids, and trails down to cool spots to hang out by the water. Clean bathrooms.
Washington Park is a nice clean park with 3 loops. 1 loop for non hookups. Most of these sites are on the outside of the campground and provide good privacy. The outer hookup loop A has some great spots. Most sites back up to the forest and have nice privacy. The park rangers come around several times a day to check reservations and bring wood. They have a great map so you can explore the many trails in the park. There is also a beach and boat ramp near the campground. We have stayed there several times during the covid19 shut downs. Will go again after we explore other campgrounds in the area.
We chose this campground for its close location to the ferry terminal to take us to San Juan Island. Sites are reservable for no additional fee. There are 46 sites in two loops with water and electric and an additional 22 sites with no hookups. Good signage in the park. While the sites are generous in size, there is little separation/privacy between them. The pads are dirt. Most appeared level. Bathrooms are reasonably clean and there are showers. The campground is nestled in the woods with no water views but there is a one-way scenic loop drive along the water. We walked along the road to Green Point to see the sunset; there are picnic tables and benches on a grassy area that are good for viewing. There is a boat launch for an additional fee ($9). There is a pay station where you can pay for campsites, boat launch, firewood, etc. with either cash (no change given) or credit card. You will hear the sound of fighter jets from the nearby naval station on Whidbey Island (but not as loud as in Deception Pass State Park) and we heard them as loud as 9 pm. Rotary has a free exchange library by the bathrooms, although there was not much of a selection. Park staff came by our site at almost 10 pm to confirm that we were the people who were supposed to be in our reserved site.
These sites are in the shade of the trees, there are upper and lower bathrooms! Free showers for campers, safe and beautiful a views in just a short walk!
We had such a great time at this site. the bathrooms are centrally located between all sites and they have the option for firewood to be delivered to your campsite, which was awesome because it meant no unnecessary trips to town. There is a two mile loop road that is great for walking, but also had trails to the beach for great exploring. There is a park for kIds to play and covered bbq shelters that are first come-first served and bonfire pits on the beach. We also were able to see lots of fun sea life and captured, then released, some larger crabs.
This is a great launching spot for a multi day paddling expedition in the San Juan Islands. There are several loops with reservable sites, some with hookups and other without. All sites are well shaded and spaced nicely so as not to feel crowded even during the busiest times of the year (generally summer months). The campground is quite large and has biking options as well as paddling. The maximum stay is 14 days.
