The Best Camping Near Amanda Park, Washington

After not being able to find a campground around Quinault, we took a chance on a busy Sunday night to drive to Queets Campground in Olympic National Park. The road to get to the campground is interesting as it passes through clear cuts and old growth forest alike to achieve the national park boundary. From here you get on a steep gravel road to travel a narrow decline to the river valley. Once you get to the campground, you will be pleasantly surprised with wide spacious sites and views of the river. The bathroom is a single loo without running water but amazingly well maintained and without the stink!

Wonderful spots that are well spaced by a roaring river! Only $15 to camp in a great forest setting.

This is primitive camping, good for tents and sedans, but not RVs. This spot is unlikely to be full. We saw bear prints and heard lots of interesting birds at all hours. GPS is not great, call ahead and/or use a paper map.

Beautiful out of the way spot beside a river. As long as you don’t mind driving out 15 miles on mostly dirt roads this spot is beautiful and quite. $15 a night, vault toilet and no trash bins.

Is is a small campground that is sparsely populated. The road to n is tough and about 10 miles of narrow gravel road. Sites are not labeled but large and surrounded by dense trees and Moss coverage. Beautiful river runs next to the sites and several great trails take off from the campground.

Most secluded ever

This place is terrible. The road here is so gnarly. A friend of mine got stuck so bad meeting me here that he had to get towed out. No cell service or legitimate bathrooms either. If you come here make sure you always have a close eye on your vehicle &amp; kids. Ran into a ranger here that was investigating a pile of elk guts &amp; remains right by camp. He said somebody was out there poaching. This was especially scary to me thinking that some shady character was illegally killing animals so close to where my family was camped. Saw quite a few bears prowling around camp too. Way better camping spots elsewhere.

Worst place to camp in the Olympics

Wonderful spot to wake up next to a river. Need to be mindful of other campers in the area. Met a friendly dog. Looks like an ok place to float down the river 😉
