Cottonwood Camp — North Cascades National Park

Nice spot, nothing special

Nice backcountry campground, complete with privy toilet, firepits, and a picnic table (though it is in disrepair) -- makes roughing it even easier. Water is easy access from the creek, which is just down the hill. This is the perfect site for a large group, but it also has a few smaller “tucked away” spots for individuals, couples, etc. Group cooking area is ok, but the bear boxes are a good ways from the cooking area. When we visited in August, there were quite a few flies working the day shift, so bring your bug spray. Cost=free! Permit required from NOCA Wilderness Information Center in Marblemount.
