Nicely maintained sites and great trail system

Restrooms/showers: very clean, spacious, centrally located. Shower stalls are separate from the restroom and are basically their own room with lock.

Lots: Well maintained gravel lots.  Spacious and didn't feel like we were on top of our neighbors.  Good shade,  lots of trees.  Nice firepits!

Nice sites

Stayed here on a whim after hiking up to McAfee Knob. Showed up right at 10pm and luckily found an empty spot. Got a fire going and made some dinner. Not the best privacy but at night there were no issues. Nice level gravel pads that we just pitches a mosquito pop up and slept on the ground.

Fun Hike, easy parking

This was a fine place to park overnight. The trailhead connects to the Appalachian Trail, so there were several other cars parked overnight as well. It is a gravel lot, pretty level. There is a little road noise until about 1030 PM. Pretty little creek runs by the gravel lot, and there are also…

Out way home

Didn't know what to expect. Very quiet area. Some spots are near I74 but most are not. Large lake and history here. Close to town to see the local legends hometown.

Friendly place

Camped out for one night, great place. Owners are real friendly, they have a store as well. The trains though! My dog did not appreciate them, but overall nice place.

Camping on the Greenbrier River

The Greenbrier River RV Park campground was fine. It was right on the Greenbrier River and you could do float, kayak and canoe trips from the campground. There were full hook-up sites and tent sites (right on the river). The sites were pretty big and most were shaded. It was close (less than 15…

Extremely Friendly Owners

The check in process went very smoothly. There weren’t any other tent campers; so, we were able to pick a different site than the one we reserved. The owners/operators could not have been more friendly. Our camp site was the most shady and the only site with drive-up access. The rest of the…

Nice water views!

We stayed in Meador site 14, which was the furthest away from the bath house (still only maybe 150 yards), but it was on the water & was the most secluded (just meaning it's at the end of the row not between other spots). It was freshly mowed, had a fire ring, picnic table, & was right on…

Peaceful & Quiet Camping

Arrived on a Friday morning & was the only one there. Had my pick of all the sites! Campground was very clean with trash bins & porta-potties. Trails were well maintained & short walk down to the river. Would definitely stay again!

Large level sites convenient to Mayberry

The campground has a nice playground, large sites with grass and rock parking pads. Full hookups. All sites are in the sun. This campground is very convenient for touring through Mayberry.

WORTH THE HIKE!

dragons tooth is off a path that is part of the Appalachian Trail, there is a good amount of parking with a bathroom and garbage, once you begin the trail there are a few dispersed obvious camping spots, these are the only camping spots that are easy to walk to the rest of the hike is moderate, but…
