Unsanitary and very crowded campsites but cool nature and wild animals

Terrible 

We got one of the last sites available but it was a group site. The people next to us parked so close, when there was a ton of room available at the other end of the site. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, so bad we make jokes about it years later. I would never ever return and don't recommend going there.

Zion

The second stop on our campervan honeymoon extravaganza, we stayed here for a few nights.  This gave us the opportunity to explore a little more on our bikes. The grounds were close to the paved bike trail which was nice. The grounds we're well kept and peaceful at night.  Bathrooms we're what you would want from a campground. Had a great time!

Part 2

We got a site close to the river, which was nice. Campsites were small and close to each other, so there was little to no privacy. Bathrooms were fine. Personally I would have a flush toilet than no toilet, but these needed a little care. It's close to the park and that's what it has going for it. I'll stay there again because of how close it is to ZNP.

Alright

This campground is located right outside the east entrance to Zion National Park.  The campground inside the park were completely booked as they usually are during the summer months.  There is a little store across the street for for food and supplies and on site there are showers and game rooms.  This campground isn't the best for tents.  We bent a couple of our stakes trying to get them into the hard clay ground.  But the proximity to the East Entrance to the park makes it a great spot after long days exploring the park.  Nothing too special about the campground.  There are a couple of decent hiking trails at the campground, but it felt like it was mostly a stop over the day before or after.

Closest campground to Zion National Park

Do yourself a favor and hike the West Rim Trail! The scenery is unmatched! 
Angels Landing was scary but the panoramic view made it worth the steep hike to the top!

Located on the East end of Zion National Park. You'll find less traffic and quieter area opposed to the campgrounds located near Springdale, Utah on the south end of the park. Full RV hook-ups, tent sites available as well. Laundry facility to refresh you sweaty & dusty gear. Showers to enjoy after a day of hiking and sight seeing. Short drive to Bryce Canyon National Park.

Great camp ground with all the amenities to make car camping luxurious. Pool, laundry, snacks and not to mention walking distance to everything in town. There is a nice river running behind the camp ground

Zion was a whole-nother experience!! Fire red sunsets, completely different setting from where I was use too and one of the tallest trail hikes and rock climb I have been on, seems that throughout the day the settings always change! Cabin rental or camper sites available outside the park trail head. Be prepared for masterpiece painted memories!!

Out Of The Elements

Zion was a whole new experience!! The sunsets are amazing the hike were just as spectacular. Cabin rental or camper sites available outside the park trail head and is a great alternative if the NP is full. 

Awesome

My enthusiasm for this campground is probably somewhat influenced by how beautiful I found Zion to be--epic sunsets and great hiking trails!  As far as the campground goes it had some good and some bad.  The good was location and also convenient proximity to a store.  The negative was that it was a little crowded (and I am crowd adverse) and that the bathrooms could have been better maintained.  Nothing that wouldn't stop me from going back tho...had a blast!!!

Of course Zion was awesome!

Zion is AWESOME! My friends and I hiked up the Angel's Landing. We were told that it's a very dangerous trail because it's so narrow and steep and high that we'd have to rely on the hand rail they installed toward the top. It was definitely scary (just a little) but not as bad as we were told. The hike was super steep was getting to the top was tiring, but once we got to the top, it was so worth it! Magnificent view! 

The campsites were very well maintained and clean. But shower was a bit pricey. If I remember correctly $3 for 10 minutes. People from all over the world were at the campsites. Definitely worth checking out! 

Awestruck views everywhere! 

We were unable to get a campsite within Zion National Park, and ended up camping here for a few nights instead. The campsites were clean, with access to toilets, showers, laundry facilities, and even a game room. They were near the south gate to the park, which offered a very scenic drive into the heart of the park, although the drive was a little longer than would probably be ideal. We actually ended up being relieved we stayed here instead of inside the park, simply because the park was so crowded! It was nice to escape at the end of the day to a place with just as magnificent views.

A good alternative to camping within Zion

...is actually where I stayed although this app apparently hasn't added this to their map. Just outside Zion National Park, this resort has absolutely everything you'll need. ATV, horseback, rock climbing, and even canyoneering tours are available. With that being said, it's a given campers will have access to running water and astoundingly clean showers as well. The staff were all extremely welcoming and I certainly recommend this resort for solo up to large groups as well, being that large numbers can easily be accommodated for.

Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort

Got to Zion too late to snag a campsite in the park, so we headed back out the East entrance to the privately run Zion RV and Campground. On the plus side, it is right outside the east entrance, its not as big as the park campgrounds, it has showers on site as well as laundry and a game room if thats your thing, and we were able to get a site around noon as the weekend approached. On the downside, sites are tiny and tents are mixed in with RV's and campers, so lots of generator noise, and the bathrooms were not as clean as many others I've seen. Truly, this is an RV campground, not tent, but sometimes you take what you can get. No campfires allowed while we were there due to dry conditions, but there were fire rings for when conditions are better as well as picnic tables for each site. There is a gas station and pizza place conveniently located across the street.

Zion camping alternative

A lifesaver since Zion itself is now a madhouse.  Good luck ever getting a first come first serve spot in Zion.  The staff was very helpful in letting us stay with our spur-of-the-moment arrival.  Pretty rugged site, but with full hookups &amp; a campfire pit. Shower &amp; laundry facilities too.

First time camping mother/daughter

Four stars only because of the complete lack of Wi-Fi as promised in the campgrounds. If you went into the Hut with the laundry room, showers and game room service was perfect. Site is a little rustic with power and full sewer hookups. At&amp;t 
phone service pretty non existent. Could however use Wi Fi calling in the hut. Some of the RV sites were very difficult to get into with a larger rig. There is a pizza place and store across the street. However if you're looking for good pizza this is not the place to go. The location could not be beat. It is a half a mile to the entrance of Zion Park and 12 miles from The Visitor Center where you catch the buses to explore the park. Hiking here is absolutely amazing. if you go in the summer just be sure to start the heights early because it does get hot, and bring plenty of water. Fire pits in each site.

Great location. New park name Hi-Ground.

Stayed here one night in our camper van. Not a lot of rv spaces (completely full when we showed up late on a Saturday night) so we opted for a tent site which was cheaper anyways and they had plenty of open slots for a Saturday. It probably helped that it was rainy for the tent sites.

Good location, about 5 minutes down the road from Zion's east entrance. And zion is just amazing! Highly recommend taking a few days here!

The grounds have nice showers and restrooms along with coin-op laundry and foosball tables. Decent wifi (writing this review here) and nice couches in lounge area.

Good in a pinch!

Very close to Zion and but nothing else around.  Newer facilities but WiFi not great at sites- just in main house.  Not very busy and price was great!! (Especially after paying unreasonable amounts in Moab).  Staff friendly and showers/laundry/comfy couches to chill at and play cards.   Full hook ups:)

Best deal

Reasonable price for right next to east entrance to Zion! Great shower facilities and WiFi in main building. No service on site. Lots of sites. Tent sites were pretty and big. Flushing toilet and water near sites. 

Good for price!

This is an ok campground on the east side of Zion’s. We stayed here for three nights while visiting the park. It is quiet but a bit of a drive to the many road to take the buses into the park. The facility was clean but needs updating and some maintenance. They are some beautiful new cabins so hopefully they will update the facilities soon too.

OK Campground East of Zions

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend since all the sites inside the park were booked full. The location is great, a bit of a drive to the visitors center but we knew that from the beginning. We had a site right on the road and were concerned at first but it ended up being pretty quiet and the view of the rock faces from our site was amazing. There was a very loud group that was shouting and singing until 1AM one night but other than that it was a wonderful experience (dead silent the second night we were there). Would definitely recommend and will stay again

Great Site

This is average private roadside RV campground located on the main highway heading into Zion National Park from the east.  The site has decent facilities with a gas station and cafe located across the street.  If you are planning to stage and enter Zion early in the morning this may be a good one night stay for you.  The site was a bit busty and noisy from the highway traffic.   The setup is an open parking lot with electrical and water hookups.  If you are out of options and want to camp close to the National Park this may be a last resort for some.  The main attraction here is the proximity to the east entrance of Zion.  

Roadside RV campsite 

Not as good as camping in the park and twice as expensive this campground (in November) offered plenty of campsites on relatively level ground. The fire pits are prehistoric without any grates but... if you can’t get a spot in Zion... you’ll hopefully appreciate finding a spot here. 

Plan B

This campground is right outside the east entrance to Zion, which was super convenient. It’s right off the highway, which makes it easy to get to but not super quiet. The sites were reasonably sized with some shade, which was nice. They do offer toilets, sinks, showers, wifi, and coin laundry near the entrance, but it was quite a haul from our site and could definitely use some more frequent cleaning, especially for the price of the sites. 

Great Location, Decent Set Up

This is in a great location. There are (approximately) 20 RV sites and 50 camp sites.  Located before Zion park entrance.
Camps have fire rings, some have picnic benches.  Facility has flush toilets, showers and washers/dryers.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that the showers were not so clean.  Toilets and drinks were.  
Also, they have wi-fi available.

Great Location

Just can’t get past the horrible conditions of the bathrooms &amp; showers. Paint peeling, mold? Scalding then ice cold water... Not cool. Have taken more refreshing camp showers outdoors. 

2 stars just for proximity to the park and availability of sites. There is a dingy laundry room but after my shower experience I didn’t want anything to do with it. 

With such a prime location &amp; the price of the sites - I can’t help but wonder why the facilities in such poor condition. Really a shame. 

Showers need an update

This campsite was really nice! They have a gas station by the lodge, and it was perfect for a last minute campsite. We had a gorgeous view of the stars and a site to pitch our tent away from other guests. The lodge employees were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the park. The only downside was that the tent sites are right along SR-9 so you hear all of the traffic and see the lights of passing cars. We paid $34 per night for a tent site, and it was much cheaper and quieter than staying in Springdale by Zion’s main entrance. The drive down through the park to Springdale was breathtaking!

Clean and quiet 

Great campsite right down the road from Zion. Only about $45/night and you get clean nice showers and clean bathrooms. There’s free WiFi, laundry facilities, and a game room. Also a nice little restaurant within walking distance (right across the street). Several campsites to choose from - we picked a more secluded one (although it was very close to other sites and near the highway). Picnic tables, table, grill and fire rings at most sites. Access to showers and bathrooms and other amenities 24/7. Great place to stay and they say they always have spots open for last minute check-ins. Will definitely go back in the future and highly recommend! 

Hi-Road Campground (Zion) 

Super nice sites! Wasn't super busy, had nice picnic table and  fire ring. Amenities were super helpful. They have horses too which was just kinda fun

Nice park - showers, water, electric, sewer, laundry. We were near the shower building and were able to pick up the Base Camp WiFi for free. 

Close to Zion

everything you would need after long days in zion and Bryce. really enjoyed the drive here would have not seen so much beauty had I not booked this place to stay. happy to have made this choice to see the other half of zion. nice park, showers, bathrooms, fire rings, and tables. The only advice is to pack sandals for the shower and bring your own table cloth.

We couldn’t find a spot down on the floor of Zion so we came back up here to camp. We decided to get a full hookup because it was only a $9 difference. Their prices are great in my opinion. $40 for dry and $49 for hookup. You also get bathrooms and showers for free. Their is also free wifi and laundry which is only $1.50 for washing and $1.50 for drying. Also there’s a place to hang out play some games and relax. Plus there are some cool hiking trails around here that the campsite has behind! 


Nice and quiet campground 

Made reservations. Pulled in after 9pm and posted sign said to go across street to the store. They were closed too. Called #, no answer. Called the 800# and we were given our site #. I recommend calling day ‘of’ to get your site as cell service is very limited. We were there 7 nights. Campgrounds were good (a little overgrown) and camp office where bathrooms and laundry were was very spacious. We had hot showers for only 2 of those 7 days. Other days were luke warm. In colder months that wldv been in issue. Overall, we wld stay here there again. Only 5 min from Zion east entrance and there’s a gift shop - The Get -and food shop across the street. The pizza is amazing!!



Basecamp for 1 week of hiking Zion & Bryce

I was not impressed with this pvt campground. Everything appears rundown, worn out and weedy. The tent sites have old crappy tables that need paint, fire rings are just rocks, some are full of trash.  This entire CG is close to the Hwy 9 traffic noise. Tent sites are $40 plus tax!!! Crazy!! RV sites are $54 and many of the RV sites appear to have residents long term.  There are some primitive 4x4 tent spots above the main office bldg but I cannot imagine how rough they are.  This is the only CG at the east entrance to Zion NP and it needs some investment and serious overhaul maintenance. Their customers are the unfortunate folks that could not get reservations in the Zion NP CGs...the BLM needs to establish a fee CG if this east entrance of Zion is going to be developed. 

Run down and over priced

We found this place while coming into Zion just after dark with our camper van. The RV sites had water and power hookups but the fire pits and tables were less than appealing. The CG advertises showers, toilets, and laundry. The men’s shower/restroom area was so unsanitary I opted for the woods instead. Only one of the stalls was in working order, with the others having old feces and just plain nastiness. The showers look like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. I understand we came during the off season but this place is run down and needs some major attention. I would not recommend staying here 

Run-Down/Unsanitary 

These sites are located just outside of Zion, but near nothing else. The only thing near by is a ranch (which has fantastic food or just grab a drink and sit by the fire while the cowboys play music at the end of the day). We stayed in a cabin, and while small was cozy and couldn’t hear a thing. Area was not busy at all, and really felt like we had the place to ourselves. Almost no cell service, so have maps downloaded if you need them. 

Remote Sites Near Zion

Passed through last week. This place was rough... The facilities are awful. There was a powerful (understatement) sewage smell throughout the whole game room/bathroom building. The bathroom facilities were horrendous. Several toilets/urinals missing. Showers were dirty. There appeared to be some feces on the floor in the doorway to the bathroom area. Our tent site was overgrown and the road washed out. After looking at the facilities and walking back to our site, we decided to leave. Didn't bother trying to get a refund. Found some wonderful dispersed camping on the other side of the park. I am generally pretty easy going and I'm not trying to negatively influence a business but just sharing what we experienced. This could have been because we were early in the season. Perhaps they had yet to get things up and running. That said, we should have done a walk through before deciding to stay. I encourage others to do so. I gave a single star because it doesn't seem no stars is an option.

Pretty bad

Car camped in one of their small tent sites, which are off a busy road with little/no data and far from town. I liked how this was the closest spot to the park, and the company offers activities at their ranch (I took a last-minute trail ride). Check-in at the pizza/rock shop across the road!

Right Next to the Park!

We booked an RV pull through site specifically because it was labeled “more primitive” - mind you this is about $30 more than the others and the site was quite literally the least primitive spot. So do t spend the extra thinking you’ll get a private spot because it’s most definitely not the case. Also the bathrooms were horrendous and smelly and the place was not maintained. We left before staying the night, ate the $80 and found a dispersed camp site. 

Not maintained and not what is advertised 

Sites are large, staff is friendly and helpful by you are remote so minimal amenities.  Personally I loved it gorgeous scenery and easy access to Zion.

Zion camping 

Great location, you feel like you’re in the park. The drive to the visitor center is through a scenic historic park road and was a great part of each day. Bathrooms could be updated but were useable. The outpost across the street has good pizza! No cell phone reception (Verizon). WiFi in the main building but doesn’t reach the campsites unless you are super close.

Closest camping to east Zion entrance. Mostly OK, but strange spot close to the entrance where an old/unused electric cable was just on the ground. Strangest dishwashing spot ever seen (see picture). Otherwise the facilities were OK.
