Beautiful in early fall or late spring

It's a bit of a hike to get there, but in late spring, the wildflowers are all in bloom and it looks amazing. From here, you can spend the night and then summit to the top of Timp, or you can stop here on your way back down instead of having to go all the way back down.

Basic campground in the woods

A couple sites are on the side of a creek. I took site 27 by the entrance just next to the creek. Many open sites late Thursday evening in early August. Picnic tables, fire pits, restrooms. Good cell service. Friendly elderly lady camp host. $24/night for single site.

Beautiful mountain retreat

This campground is within 40 minutes of town, but feels like you are far away from your worries. There is a stream that runs thru it and a lot of trees that provide plenty of shade. There are several hiking trails within walking distance, with waterfall destinations, or a peak to summit.

Nice but busy campground

I've stayed here many times, it's well maintained and nestled in old growth trees, it's very cozy, except that the often times busy Alpine Loop is VERY close

Do-It-Yourself Campground with awesome views

We hiked up the Emerald Lake at the basin of MT. Timpanogos, and set up camp there. Water is available through the glacial Emerald Lake. Bring all your own camping gear and flashlights! The stars in the early morning provide unparalleled views. Hike to the top of the mountain for great sunrise views!

beautiful area for dispersed camping

Behind Mount Timp along the 92 passed Sundance and Aspen Grove is a beautiful area full aspen and fir. Plenty of room for dispersed camping. I know it is free for one or two nights. Hiking trails that follow the road or gonup the mountain. Teeming with Wildlife. The road to it is closed during winter/spring.

beautiful view

there is plenty of open ground to pitch your tent in -especially when you get higher up- and a fun, beautiful hike, (whether or not you’re staying the night) I highly reccomend hiking and camping just about anywhere on this mountain.

Great hiking!

The campsite was close to the trailhead to go up to the caves on top of mount Timpanogas. It was a wonderful experience. The cave tour really is a must see even if you just day trip up to it. The sites were nice. People were polite and stuck to the quite hours. There was a drop toilet within walking distance from our site and a water spigot. The sites were spacious and relaxing.
