Amazing!
Jordanelle is always a fun place to camp. It's not too far from Salt Lake or Provo and the water is clean. Really good family experience.

This isn't the prettiest lake. It is nice and big, but since it is one of the closest to Utah Valley and Salt Lake Valley, it gets a lot of traffic. Boat ramps during the summer are always very crowded. Beaches and campgrounds are decent, but the lake isn't that enjoyable. We just went boating here in September. The water was very cold! I recommend a wetsuit if you have one!
Stayed here for a weekend getaway and loved it. Great place close to SLC and park city and for the most part it was surprisingly quiet, tho that could be a fluke as it got busier during the day. Feel like we just lucked out Especially in renting water toys as sounds like they are usually booked out if not reserved well in advance. Nice campsites that appear to stay well maintained.
Lovely all times of day
The campground is on a little peninsula in the reservoir. It was very busy during the day but cleared out at night. The picnic sites (separate from the tents) have all the best views. The tent-only area is nice too with a little bit of greenery. It’s close to Salt Lake City and all the ski areas and it seemed like many of the day-use folks were quite wealthy. I’d probably choose another site in the future for personal preference, but everything is nice, clean, and about as expected.
The Heber Valley is beautiful and Jordanelle State Park is a great place to stay while you explore the area. It's a lovely, clean, well run state park that sits on a nice reservoir that is perfect for boating. I stayed here with my children at the end of June and while day time temps were high, the lake was cool and clean, the nights cooled off quickly, and there were no bugs to keep us from enjoying our s'mores by the fire. The sites are nicely spaced, there is a great playground, and plenty of campground trails to walk the dog.
it was an awesome campsite. we didn't make a reservation and were nervous we weren't going to get in anywhere, but we went to the jordanelle and they told us about a campsite that's about .5 mile hike and its first come first serve. it was great - it had a firepit and picnic table and was right on the lake.
