Goosenecks State Park Campground

Loved It

This is a really cool place to stay-- state park with dispersed camping. There are sites all along the rim, as well as further back away from the rim.

$5 for day use or$10 for camping.

There are vault toilets and garbage bins. No other amenities for campers, but the day use area has picnic tables and some have shade structures.

No host or attendant when we were here in early November. Self pay at the kiosk, cash only. The path along the rim is rocky and bumpy in spots and we didn’t want to go too far in our motorhome and we easily found a spot away from the day use area but not too far away from the main entrance.

The view down into the canyon is AMAZING. A triple horseshoe bend-- the San Juan river bends in 3 places here, very cool to see!

This park claims to be one of the darkest places in the country and attempts to get people to be courteous with their night time lighting so as not to ruin the night sky for others.

Verizon and ATT had good cell reception, TMobile was strong but roaming.
