South Temple Wash blm
To CORRECT previous reviews, this is a pay ($15) BLM CG, it is not free. And also it DOES honor the senior pass and other access passes for 1/2 off, see pic of fee envelope..

Nice remote site. Two bathrooms.
This is a gravel lot. Despite the prior review stating $7.50 for passes. This is not true. No discounts at all. So $15/night for an open gravel lot. Fire ring and pit toilets only. No thanks.
CG close to goblin valley SP. But this BLM CG is FCFS, $15/$7.50 plus two group areas, one at each end. 12 sites total, two vault toilets. No water, no dumpsters however each site has a table and fire ring...the group sites have a shade awning also. Paved road all the way in CG is gravel, no shade whatsoever! Cell signal is 1-2 bars on my TMobile phone but my Starlink rocks the interwebs here! Lack of dumpsters is reason for 4 stars.
Note: The Goblin Valley St Park is $20 per vehicle for day use entry and then $45-$65 for camping. $45 with no hookups!!
Stayed here during memorial day weekend and wasn’t sure if I would find a spot but upon arriving around 7 PM, there were several spots available and if you keep driving down the dirt road, you can find many other dispersed sites to stay at. Even though it was quite busy with large groups, around 10 PM, everyone settled down and it was a quiet peaceful night. Beautiful views and plenty of areas to walk around. About 15 minutes from Capitol Reef National Park. Free and clean vault toilets.
As others have mentioned, this is little more than a parking lot with fire rings and picnic tables. No frills. The pit toilets are not very well maintained. The locks are broken, they are dirty, and there is no toilet paper. There are some interesting sites just up the road that you can walk to, including some ancient petroglyphs. If you continue down the road, you will also find the Temple Mountain Townsite Camping Area which is a little nicer, but usually busier as well.
So this is a free BLM campground that is quite basic. I give it two stars but that does not mean it's not worth staying at. It's just very basic. It does have pit toilets and there are some fire pits. There is no water source. The big pluses are your clothes to goblin valley and you are in the San Rafael swell with a lot of off-road vehicle trails and thought canyons close by. One thing I should know is there is rarely toilet paper in the pit toilets so bring your own.
Just a “parking lot” but it free, mostly level, and close to Goblin Valley and off-road trails. Pit toilets, but no other amenities, including water so make sure you are prepared. Closest gas and services are 30 miles away. Beautiful night sky and fun rocks a to climb up and explore. My kids had a blast, exploring.
Even with lots of people nearby, camping here felt secluded and wild. Great hiking nearby, and a short drive to Goblin Valley.
This area was so close to goblin valley. The bathrooms were pit toilets, but they were clean and there was always enough toilet paper even though we went on a busy weekend (Memorial Day). We loved that this camp group was free, but still in a beautiful area! You can't beat a free! We were able to have a fire as well. The only issue was that weekend it was incredibly windy, so maybe check that before going. We had sand EVERYWHERE and I was mildly afraid my tent would fly away with me in the night. ;) lol It was a great spot overall though!
This place is great, it has pit bathrooms at the entrance to the road. Take plenty of mosquito repellent. Awesome hikes nearby.
It’s a large flat area where you can camp pretty much anywhere. Fire ring and pit toilet are available. But the toilet isn’t near some of the sites. The sites are pretty clean. If you don’t find a site, don’t worry, keep driving in. It’s around 30 mins dirt road drive from the goblin valley state park entrance. We camp there in early June and the weather is pretty nice after dark. We even see deer ran pass us.
