The Best Camping Near Farmington, Utah

Cool little campground up the canyon, though the road in can be a little tricky in spots.  Beautiful drive tho.  Sites are packed in pretty well but good amenities and seems to be well maintained.  Used it as a jumping point for other adventures and recommend Adams canyon if you get to the area.

Nice views, close quarters 

Shaded campsite with large area for tent and gear. Not much sunset due to the trees but watching the sun rise over Bear Lake in the morning was lovely!

Great location 

Dont let the road to get up here fool you...it's a very narrow dirt road with tons of pot holes and uneven ground. But once you arrive to the campsite, you won't regret your journey.

anywhere in Farmington Canyon is truly a hidden gem. This area is beautiful. There are tons of little trails to follow and wildflowers to pick. There are even little ponds- I took a dip.

This place is what dreamed are made of. In october got to camp here with no one else around. Soo beautiful lush compared to other parts of utah. Has no amenities. A bunch of pretty much wild sites just wonderful. Great hiking around farmington canyon.

Site has limited spots and some has diffent levels from your tent to the bench to the firepit. Farmington creek trail connects to the south side, under .50 miles is a waterfall you can climb down to. Just north of the campsite a small trail take you to 2 benches that overlook the canyon. We had some deer next to our tent half the night eating, saw some rat snakes, squrrails and a lizard. This site does not allow ATV's, dirt bikes or any kind of 4 wheeler. Also no RV will be able to fit, though 1 guy got a pop up to fit in one spot.

Limited but beautiful and spacious campgrounds

We were amazed by the beauty of Bryce Canyon and this campground was only a short walk away from looking over the rim. Great trail access, basic but clean camping essentials such as fire pit, bathrooms, water access, sink, picnic table. Our site was spacious and clean. It did snow when we were there in late September.

an easy drive about 20 minutes from Farmington. Good campsite with plenty of trees. A nice little hike down to some waterfalls. 


fun spot close to home

this campground has been shut down.  I don't know why.  there still is access to the Farmington canyon trail and waterfall.  you probably could still home in if you wanted to.  but there is no bathroom or water.

Bryce canyon is an all around pretty awesome place. I stayed here with my giant family, and thankful this campground had a site that a could fit all of us. They have one blocked off specifically for large groups, and you can add basically all the people you want to it. I think the price goes up the more people you add though, and they cap it after like 30 people. The campground was nice, and really big. No water or electric hookups at this place. We stayed in tents, but there are RV sites too in a separate area. There are bathrooms and access to fresh water.

My favorite part about this campground is that it's located right next to some pretty awesome hiking trails. You can basically hop right on one from your campsite. My favorite trail in the park was Fairlyland Loop Trail, which wasn't too far from the campground. It had some awesome views, but it was pretty long and hot (8ish miles) so just be aware of that. Definitely worth it in my book though!

Also, even though it gets super hot in the day, it can get pretty cold here at night, even during the summer!

All around awesome place though. Hope I can visit again someday!

cool canyon 

there is a shuttle stop right at the campground. Since it is a national park the staff is watching you all the time and quick to point out issues. Very busy location. Bathroom where clean.

This campsite was closed by the Forest Rangers fall 2018.

Camping close to sunset point. Within walking distance to popular trails like Navajo and Queens Garden. Clean and well maintained.  Bicycle trails close too. Enjoyed our stay! Definitely recommend!
