Incredible views, roaming dogs, crummy wi-fi (if that matters)
I was joined early Easter morning by other campers at the fence line between the upper campground and the lower. We all watched the sun come up between the hills. There's something really special out here.
I was destined to spend a good chunk of the day under my VW Vanagon diagnosing a shifting problem, but I digress.
Campsite says it has wi-fi. Don't believe them. I happened to need it to get with the VW community. I ended up using my cellular data instead. Verizon reception is fine.
When we checked in, they said "don't leave your shoes out. We have packs of roaming dogs." They certainly do. They're sweet--at least the one I met.
Sites are red dirt. Not many trees up this way. Main roads are paved. It all works well. The campground is tucked between a couple of hills. It is stunning.
Worth a visit for sure.
