## Overview

 Pine Valley Recreation Area is located in scenic Pine Valley, Utah at an elevation of 6,900 feet. The valley offers a great escape from the heat of the southern Utah desert. Visitors enjoy fishing at nearby Pine Valley Reservoir and exploring local trails. 
## Recreation

 Hiking and horse trails are abundant in Pine Valley. Trails vary in length from 2 to 35 miles. Some trails allow mountain biking. Shoreline fishing for rainbow trout is a popular activity on the lake. Flotation devices - canoes, paddle boards, inner tubes, etc. -are not allowed on the lake. Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness is adjacent to the recreation area. 
## Natural Features

 Pine Valley is situated in the Pine Valley Mountains. A beautiful forest of ponderosa pine and oak covers the area, offering partial shade. Mountain mahogany, juniper and sagebrush dot the landscape.

 Zions National Park is a short 1 1/2 hour drive from Pine Valley with a 75 mile drive.

Beautiful and quite

The Dean Gardner loop is adjacent to the reservoir. No swimming but you can fish. Lots of big trees, so great for shady hammock naps.

Nice shady spot with water

This is a great place to camp or do a daytrip. Walking/bike path a little reservoir to fish in and a whole lot of shade trees.

Beat the heat

We stayed here after visiting Zion National park. The drive to this site was absolutely beautiful. The sunset over the mountains was breath taking. Our site was fully equipped with a fire pit, grill, picnic table and tent pad. The loop had a bathroom and running water. The host was there to help us find our spot and purchase firewood. Very friendly! Great place to stay in Western Utah.

A hidden gem 

This is an amazing campground with a creek that runs all along the east side of the campground that leads to a reservoir. We stayed in site 22, had a breathtaking sunset. Sites 19-23 you have to walk up to, which can be a hassle carrying heavy coolers and totes. But totally worth all the privacy. Cows and deer walk through the sites, it was really cool. They have vault toilets, no sinks but a water filling station. Also sell firewood at the site for $6 a bundle. Camp host take well care of this campground and are very nice. The closest store is about 20 minutes away but the steakhouse down the road sells ice. Was a life savor. We will definitely be return!

Beautiful campsite!! Sites are relatively close to one another and very well kept. Some cell service. Bathrooms clean. Definitely worth the drive into pine valley!
