The Best Camping Near Willard, Utah

We had a delightful stay over Memorial Day weekend. Our kids had a blast swimming, playing at the playground and then spending time in the arcade. The New Owners are super friendly and the Bathrooms are very clean.

Great Family Spot!

Stayed overnight while passing through. Super clean park, bathrooms were very clean and well lit. I got a tent site with electric hook up, spot is long so you have plenty of space along with a small grill. No fire ring rings at the spots due to closeness but there is a community place for fires with firewood. Was able to check in at any time and it was super easy. Saw a double rainbow when I woke up haha perfect.

Like most KOA's this place has a ton of amenities and things to keep you comfortable all without leaving the property!  There's a swimming pool, playground, and doggy walking kennel.  There is also a small store inside the office building and a couple amp selections for RV and trailer hookups.  Also included is the standard Wi-fi and water hook up.  

This campground is pretty easy to access from the interstate and requires only 3 right turns and a couple miles.  Nearby is the Migratory Bird Refuge and Willard Bay State Park which also has a couple options for camping.  In the opposite direction of the Great Salt Lake lies the Northern Wasatch Mountains with plenty of canyons to cool off in during those hot days in the valley

Great Place to Stay at or Use as a Basecamp

It's a great, clean Koa that is reasonably priced and has great customer service. It is also skoolie friendly.

Great customer service

We stop here on occasion on our way back to Idaho.  The camp is really old and not many campers but shady and bathrooms clean. We usually camp in very back by the farm so very quiet.  Heard coyotes and lots of owl pellets around camp.  Fun diner not too far away is the Peach Pit. Burgers milkshakes etc. eat in or out and even drive in service last time we were there. 

Convenient for travel stop

We stopped off here for one night on our way to Bryce Canyon. We arrived late, but someone had stayed around to welcome us and give us a goody bag with nutter butters, coozies, and fresh plums, which was really nice! 

They pack them in tight here! Each pitch is no wider than 15’, which actually makes it pretty challenging to back in. There isn’t really any outside space, unless you want to squeeze some chairs next to your neighbor’s sewer hookup. 

That being said, the facilities are great and the folks running the place are really friendly and helpful. Showers are free, hot, and clean. There’s a well-stocked store, laundry room, propane fill-up, etc.

The sites are extremely close together, almost impossible to back into! The site we were assigned to looked to have previously been a pull through site, converted to two back ins. The other camper was backed in halfways into ours and we could not even attach our water hose due to this. Water and electric were on the opposite side as they were on our camper. 
Likely will not stay here again in the future as it was more of a hassle than anything on our way back home. 

Sites extremely small

Currently upgrading about 12 spaces all new power water and sewer lines. Very nice people and they are making the facilities better. Great wi-fi.

Upgrading 

This was a nice spot tucked away from the interstate but not super far. Clean restrooms, nice staff. Stayed here twice on our trip to Moab. Plan on staying again on other trips to southern Utah

Great KOA a hop away from the interstate

We stopped here for one night driving from Albuquerque to Yellowstone, it was a great place to spend the night. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the bathrooms were clean.

The Staff was helpful grounds is well keep. It's koa, so expect to be more condensed, but they do a great job at this one of providing you an excellent KOA experience.

All in all this campground is pretty good. Showers and bathrooms are clean, a basic grill at every site, the grass is green and well maintained. Campsites are a little close but to be expected when camping at a KOA. The KampK9 is a nice touch, a small area to exercise 1-3 dogs at a time. There is also a farm on the other side of a barbed wire fence. Not sure what time it gets tended to; suppose I’ll find out in the morning. Lol

KOA Journey

Awesome

Location at the foot of the mountain provides amazing views and panoramic vistas.  The staff is amazing and polite and helpful.  Well maintained camp.  Site is long and narrow but well shaded and clean.  For a great dinner out try Maddox Ranch House (2.5 miles away) and skip the 60 min plus wait by asking the camp hosts for a VIP seating pass. Worth it.

Necessary stop

The office was very good to work with the park looked well maintained we came in the fall so the fun summer stuff was put away. They have a lot of orchards near and fresh fruit stand close by which would be great in summer but in the fall it made the area buggy. Easy to get in and out of. Level sites and a quiet area. We would stay again if In the area. Internet was always working and fast!

Good place to stay 

We stayed here one night on our way home from the southeast. It was a welcome sight after a long day's driving. It's far enough off of the highway to be quiet and peaceful. There are clean showers and all of the amenities. The park is along a route through orchards and farms, with plenty of produce stands. The fruit trees were flowering when we came through. So pretty! This is a nice place to locate when exploring SLC.

On the way home

We came here just to stop for the night, and found it a pleasant place to stay.  It is off the road a bit with no traffic noise. One of the smaller KOA campgrounds. 

Great stopover

Headed north, this is a good stop north of SLC. Pull thru sides are plenty long, just close together. Pool is heated, laundry is $4/load. Staff is very nice. Lots of shade available.

Great spot! We stopped here for a night during our travels &amp; we loved it! The staff is extremely nice &amp; helpful. The grounds are well cared for, the showers are free &amp; hot, the bathroom is clean, &amp; there’s laundry available. As other reviews have mentioned, the spaces are very close together &amp; there is some traffic noise from the nearby interstate (this didn’t effect our sleep or experience, but it’s worth mentioning). We would definitely stay here again.

Very convenient

Everyone here was so nice and the staff was absolutely fantastic and so accommodating. Good spacing between tent sites, and they were spacious. It’s set up in a loop with all the amenities right in the middle so no matter where your spot is you’re just a tiny stroll away. Heated pool when it’s in season, and they seem to host a lot of fun events! I missed the ice cream social sadly. They also have air hockey and a ping pong table in the office building. This was my favourite KOA so far!

Note: Bring bug spray! I got bit a fair amount by mosquitoes.
