We checked out this BLM dispersed area based on the previous poster’s review and were not disappointed. We had reservations the following night at the Horsethief Group Sites, so were just looking for a place for a few early arrival folks to crash for the evening. We found the very first campsite (designated by a rock fire ring) to be empty and snagged it. There was a bunch of cut deadwood laying around (presumably to control brush fire risk), so we were able to build a fire in about 5 minutes. Super quiet. Pretty windy and dusty, but that’s to be expected. The Horsethief campsites are close by, so it would be easy to use their toilets and trash if needed. We will definitely use these sites again in the future given their solitude and proximity to Canyonlands and Arches.
