5 Reviews of Flanners Beach/Neuse River Recreation Area - CLOSED
Nice convenient trails

There are a few nice convenient trails around the Recreation area. The water views are peaceful and beautiful! A fair chunk of the trail is still closed from hurricane Florence damage, as is the beach access. It’s all currently closed now due to COVID-19… hopefully that will change soon!

Small Tidy Riverfront Campground

Flanners Beach is tucked away just off of Hwy 70 outside historic New Bern NC. It’s a small campground overlooking the mighty Neuse River. Most sites are level. Sewer is not offered but of course they have a dump. Water and electric is available and camp fees are very reasonable. There is a sand beach to enjoy and you are within 10 miles of both New Bern and Havelock where Cherry Point Marine Corp base is located.

Open and on the water.

Not much privacy and close to the water. Lots of people come there to picnic who are not camping. Close to a main highway. No trails but lots of open beach.

Great trails & Beach

Take your bicycle or go for a stroll on the plentiful trails throughout this forest. Campsites have grated covers on the fire pits and the sites are fairly wooded. Nice host. Really enjoyed the beach, lizards and paths.

Right on the Neuse river beach

Great spot if you have an RV or don't mind being close to them. Small campsites, but the campground is right next to the beach access. Showers are available here. Dogs are allowed on the beach!
